Sacrificial Kids Wanted: Call Okie Funk

OKAY, READY KIDS?
Yes!
Who's War is it?
Bush's War.
Do you want Peace?
Yes!
Have a free pinwheel and go play. (Peacefully, of course)

Here is how YOUR Best Poltical Blogger in Oklahoma for 2006 who happens to also be a UCO college professor, feels about using innocent unsuspecting children as a political weapon against America. (No problem).

Pinwheels For Peace
(from Okie Funk.com by Dochoc)

A brave dude for peace

"American children growing up today have been taught on some level by the neoconservative Republican juggernaut that war and military occupation are good things.

Imperial President George Bush and the contemporary GOP teaches this: War is good; peace is bad.

This overall philosophical message, unless countered by self-aware parents, will no doubt have some lasting effect on children. The Iraq invasion and ensuing occupation is in its fifth year with no end in sight. Will these children be prone to more violence? Will they dismiss—like Bush and the Republicans—the ideas of reconciliation and negotiation in their personal lives? Will they understand that peace is actually an attribute to be celebrated and admired.

None of this is to take away from the suffering of the thousands upon thousands of Iraqi children who have been injured or displaced, but the long, gruesome occupation takes a psychological toll here among children as well. (Click on the image to the right, and then click again to view a short flash movie about how Iraqi children have suffered.)

On Friday, September 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Gold Dome Multicultural Center, N.W. 23 Street and Classen Avenue, local students will display decorated pinwheels for peace. This is a non-partisan event that simply asks students “to reflect on peace: A state of calm and tranquility, with no anxiety or violence.”

The event is part of the national Pinwheels For Peace program."

After spewing nothing but Bush hating lies as reasons to go to the Pinwheels for Peace antiwar protest, Okie Funk writes... "This is a Non partisan event that simply asks students to reflect on peace...zzzzz"

I say that statement requires one to engage in "the willing suspension of disbelief".

Because people like Doc Kurt and/or like-minded anti-war pinheads will be there, makes it a partisan event. Democrat and liberal websites have promoted it and have made it partisan, antiwar cutnrun Democrats will be onstage making it partisan and the Democrat "Governor Pinwheel" himself is the grand pooohhpaah of the event. Make no mistake,... it is partisan alright... but worse, it's manipulative of children for political gain.

They have no shame, and there is obviously no end to what these people will do to defeat George Bush.

Help call these despicable America haters out and expose them for what they really are and show your outrage at using children as a political tool during a time of war with our tax dollars.

Read both posts here, Red, and I must admit that I'm startled by the 'pinwheel' protests. I had not heard about this down here in little Dixie. Democrats Still dont have any ideas regarding the war, except to surrender, and hand out pinwheels, I guess. Oh, that and Defeat Bush!
That Gov. Pinwheely has never issued a stance on the war is no surprise, though.

See the Senate Resolution today? And who notably voted Nay on it?

What people like Kurt Hochenbauer/dochoc/okiefunk aren't mentioning is HOW MANY CHILDREN would be immediately murdered and slaughtered if the US takes his advice and surrender/redeploy/cutandrun.

By every expert analysis it would be several million dead... ethnic cleansing type dead... and if that happened, guess who he would blame THAT on?

Right, he would blame Bush for abandoning those poor innocent Iraqi children that he- himself has been calling for us to abandon.

these people are despicable.
But sure enough... Oklahoma Kool-aid drinkers will probably vote Okie Funk as Best Blog again.
pathetic.

So much for progress eh Red?

A couple of comments on these last two posts.

1) Calling Okie Funk or anyone who participates in the Pinwheels For Peace program "America haters" is uncalled for and untrue. Just because someone has a different opinion than you on the war or on this current administration does not in any way, shape, or form mean that they hate America. And by you lowering your argument to such a pathetic level it only makes you look bad. I'm sorry to be so harsh but the calling liberals and anti-war folks "America haters" thing is so incredibly sophomoric and idiotic that it is mind boggling. You have proven (in a couple of previous posts) that you can do better than that Red.

2) On the previous post you got up in arms about something Gov. Henry did or said. I looked through the links provided about Henry but must have missed whatever it was that got you so up in arms. What exact did he say/do and do you have a news story that details the situation?

In no way was I saying that the student who were being used by people like Okie Funk were America Haters, in fact they fall into the unintentional accomplices column or even victim column.

Here's how I can call Kurt an America hater and if he is honest (which for me to believe he is would require the willing suspension of disbelief), he would agree with this.
He absolutely, positively hates America when it is being run by Republicans. (or in this case one single Republican)

He wants us to concede the war on terror to ... (whoever), then he thinks we should tear the country apart literally at the seams with legal prosecution of the evil neocons Bush, Cheney, Rove and anyone else he can think of with an (R) by their name, then prosecution of heads of all major corporations, take over the free market, open the borders to all comers, provide free healthcare to all, then rebuild America in true socialist tradition.

So, to keep it short, I used "HATE"...as in he hates the America you and I know.
HE LOVES the idea of HIS vision for America I'm quite sure. But from my perspective (which is the only one I actually can give you) he hates America.

But let me put it this way, IF Okie Funk had his way and America was socialist/communist, then you could probably put me in the "America Hater" column and I would be fine with that. (at least I'm honest)

2- Governor Pinwheel?
Well, up until FRIDAY our illustrious Governor had not taken a stance on the war or how to win the war as I pointed out in the middle of the "pinheads" post (link to ontheissues.org.
HE and other Democrats Andrew Rice and Connie Johnson's plan is simple: Use pinwheels to fight off the terrorists, win the war and achieve... PEACE!
Governor Pinwheel knows as we all know that there will be no peace until the Jihadi's are defeated.
Q: How do we know this boys and girls?
A: The JIhadi's tell us so about every other day.
Have a pinwheel.

I gotta give him one thing, it sure beats anything the rest of the Democrat party can come up with.
But it is also a shame to mislead kids that way.

Hold on a second...I'm confused. What exactly did Brad Henry do? I may be slow on this and if so please forgive me, but I can't see where he did anything. If by supporting this march thing (whatever it is), you automatically think he is against the war, then that is just sloppy reasoning using hearsay instead of direct evidence.

No, not hearsay. Hear Brad say.

Try and follow me on this Dave it is a nuanced plan.
Since Governor Pinwheel had NOT gone on record as being FOR or AGAINST the war nor had he presented ANY ideas for winning the war... (until Friday) it is easy to conclude that since the first and only thing he has done with regard to the war is to be the grand poooopahhhh of the "Pinwheels For Peace" Day in Oklahoma, that therefore is his ONLY plan (thusfar) for winning the war in Iraq.
(Surely he doesn't support losing/surrender/cutnrun)

Now, we know that:
1- terrorists will not stop, surrender or quit until they are defeated according to their own words and actions.

THerefore there is only one viable option for peace.
Defeat the Jihadi's.(they don't do ties in war)

Since Brad Henry has not said he supports surrender/defeat (in public), but last Friday did support "PEACE" and believes that PINWHEELS are the method of choice to achieve PEACE,...(i.e. Pinwheels for peace)

And we arrive at the term "Governor Pinwheel".
Got it?
(probably not, it makes too much sense)
