Hillary on The War(path)

Can you imagine waking up to THIS everyday for 4 years as our President?
If this AP photo doesn't scare ya' read on.

Here is an excellent piece on the former first lady turned senator who would be President and Commander in Chief.

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton has told an Iowa audience that she was deceived on the congressional vote to take military action against Saddam Hussein in Iraq, contradicting an earlier video recording in which she testifies that her decision was made based on her own information and intelligence.

The opposing statements were revealed in a series of recordings, one from a meeting she held with Code Pink, an anti-war organization, in 2003, and the second from statements she made during her weekend visit to Iowa, the state with early presidential race caucuses.

For example, in 2003, she said she supported the war effort because of the sound information and intelligence to which she had access.

"I ended up voting for the resolution after carefully reviewing the information, intelligence that I had available, talking with people whose opinions I trusted, tried to discount the political or other factors that I didn't believe should be in any way a part of this decision," she said.

But in 2007, she said Bush tricked her into giving that support.

"So he took the authority that I and others gave him and he misused it, and I regret that deeply. And if we had known then what we know now, there never would have been a vote and I never would have voted to give this president that authority."

In another instance, on the subject of the U.S. going it alone, in 2003 she said, " With respect to whose responsibility it is to disarm Saddam Hussein, I just do not believe that, given the attitudes of many people in the world community today, that there would be a willingness to take on very difficult problems, were it not for the United States leadership…"

But in 2007, she said, "I said that we should not go to war unless we have allies."

On the reason and need for war, in 2003, she said: "There is a very easy way to prevent anyone from being put into harm's way, that is for Saddam Hussein to disarm. And I have absolutely no belief that he will. I have to say that this is something I've followed for more than a decade. If he were serious about disarming, he would have been much more forthcoming."

But in 2007, it was: "This was his (the president's) decision to go to war. He went with an ill-conceived plan and an incompetently executed strategy, and we should expect him to extricate our country from this before he leaves office."

"There are no do-overs in life. I wish there were. You know, I acted on the best judgment that I had at the time, and at the time I said this was not a vote for preemptive war, and the president took my vote and other votes and basically misused the authority we gave him," she continued.

The recordings are available at Youtube for the 2003 statements, and at RushLimbaugh.com for the 2007 comments.

The actual resolution on which Clinton voted noted that Iraq had violated a United Nations agreement to cease fire and eliminate its nuclear, biological and chemical weapons programs, and "in direct and flagrant violation of the cease-fire" tried to hide its weapons.

And since "Congress concluded that Iraq's continuing weapons of mass destruction programs threatened vital United States interests and international peace and security," the resolution "urged the president to take appropriate action, in accordance with the Constitution and relevant laws of the United States, to bring Iraq into compliance with its international obligations."

And the congressional approval noted the U.N. already had authorized "the use of all necessary means to enforce United Nations Security Council Resolution 660 (1990) and subsequent relevant resolutions and to compel Iraq to cease certain activities that threaten international peace and security, including the development of weapons of mass destruction and refusal or obstruction of United Nations weapons inspections…"

Congress' own approval came in a statement that read:
"The president is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in order to (1) defend the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq; and (2) enforce all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq."

Over the weekend in Iowa, Clinton said she resents the fact that George Bush won't have the war on terror wrapped up before the next president takes office. "I think it's the height of irresponsibility and I really resent it."

It was some months ago that Clinton started admitting that she thought her vote for the war was a mistake – in an apparent attempt to pacify the left wing of the Democrat Party.

She has insisted she was misled by "false" information about Iraq and its weapons, and she charged the U.S. acted before the U.N. had an opportunity.

Picking her ground carefully, she has said: "I have continually raised doubts about the President's claims, lack of planning and execution of the war – while standing firmly in support of our troops."
(end)

Cindy Sheehan and Hillary can't seem to figure out if they agree on the war or not
since Hillary is having trouble agreeing with HERSELF!
The day that America is ready to put Hillary Clinton in charge of our military and our security,(not to mention our money) is a sad day for America.

Five Million and Counting

A moment of silence and prayer for the 5,000,000+ unborn babies killed by abortion in America since 2003... also for their mothers and fathers as well, who must live with that fact for the rest of their lives.

Think about that number for a moment... FIVE MILLION... and ask yourself one question.

In 2007 with hundreds of ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies from ever occuring, why do we approve of, tolerate and ignore over one million slaughtered babies per year in America?
At only 8 weeks (pictured) all organs are in place, fingerprints are formed and the baby can begin to hear. This is a human being, NOT a choice.

And we call ourselves civilized and display outrage over a single baby seal killed while this goes on and on and on.

Sickening.

A Tale of Two Pintos

IS THIS YOUR NEXT NEW CAR?
The big push to eliminate the use of fossil fuels has finally "jumped the shark" (as they say).
The Democrat ruled congress is calling for increased emission regulations and decreasing consumption of fuel just like they did in 1972.
President Bush has even called for ending our "addiction" to oil and for reducing our consumption by 20% in the next few years. (yeah right)
We are supposed to reduce fuel consumption while increasing the economy, increasing business, increasing travel and increasing the population...uhhh... NOT gonna' happen.
What was sold to America as the answer for our addiction to oil back in the 70's?
The Pinto (and Vega, Chevette etc.) I use the Pinto as an example because it was prone to burst into flames.
So, would you prefer an electric Pinto, a ethanol powered Pinto, a Hydrogen powered Pinto or a Rubber band powered Pinto? (They might give it a new spiffy modern new PC name... but it might as well be a Pinto)

Experts are pointing to ethanol (made from corn and/or sugars) as the glorious answer to all our energy problems, however "the proof just isn't in the pudding" (as they also like to say).

One major problem is that ethanol is not cost efficient to produce since it takes more energy to produce ethanol than it yields as opposed to petroleum which yields 5 times the energy required to refine it.
Additionally, to produce ethanol, coal is usually used to heat the corn and release the sugar which is converted to ethanol alcohol... this process eliminates any potential environmental gain from ethanol usage over gasoline.
Lastly, ethanol doesn't perform anywhere near as well as gasoline and therefore mileage goes down 20%-30% compared to gasoline (along with performance).

The same problem exists with hydrogen in that it takes more energy to produce it/refine it than it yields in return. In addition there is storage and refueling problems along with performance issues yet to be resolved.

Electric cars are really just golf carts with an ugly body on top... underpowered and low range between recharges make them unusable, uninteresting and un-fun.

Then we have this... Several scientists believe that oil sources may actually be self replenishing as an ongoing result of the earths core activity and NOT derived from organic material like fossils, animals and plants and is not a limited quantity. There is much evidence to support this theory... certainly MORE evidence than there is to support man's influence on global warming.(which is debatable and very questionable).

So, before you go out and buy yourself a brand NEW hybrid electric ethanol hydrogen powered
ford Pinto wagon(or whatever)...
you might want to think back to the 1970's (or do some research) when they claimed to have killed the muscle car and saved the planet from the evils of OIL, by introducing us to the NEW 1972, enviroment friendly, high gas mileage, Ford Pinto wagon. It was a huge failure, flop and actually dangerous. (Worse than the Edsel itself)

Meanwhile, the "muscle car" lives on and Hemi Cuda's, Z-28's and Shelby Mustang GT's are worth hundreds of times their original value... and the Pinto.... well you can get one at the salvage yard for about $200, or you can get one which has been turned into a muscle car by stuffing a big American gas guzzling V-8 hotrod engine under the hood for a few thousand.

Score: Muscle Car-1, Pinto gas saver- 0

Look, fleets of cars across the country (like the city of Denver) have gone to LP gas (propane), ethanol and every other alternative fuel out there and the result is always the same. The cars don't run as well, have more mechanical problems and they don't end up getting better mileage.

The reason we are not already driving a non-combustion engine powered vehicle or alternative fuel vehicle is simple.
Americans won't buy one UNTIL it can out perform the cars we are currently driving.
The instant you see a factory built ethanol car produce 12 second ET's in the quarter mile... or a 13 second golf cart for that matter... Americans will switch to ethanol or whatever.

Personally, I love the smell of nitromethane in the morning... (my favorite alternative fuel) ...but that's just me.

Finally... The Plan To Make Us Safe

Finally the Democrats top agenda item is a plan to make Americans safer.

Is the plan...
A: To defeat the Islamic fascists and win the war on terror?
B: To secure the borders and stop illegal immigration?
C: To rid America of the internal combustion engine?

If you chose "A", .....sorry you would be wrong, in fact the Democrats have just put the finishing touches on a resolution opposing the Commander in Chief's plan to increase troops and change the rules of engagement favoring our troops instead of insurgents.

If you chose "B", .....sorry you would be wrong again, in fact the Democrats plan to postpone, delay avoid, ignore... securing the border, building the fence and/or enforcing ANY immigration laws.

If you chose "C", you might be a redstater (heh, heh)... House leader Nancy Pelosi's (D) CA top agenda item is NOT the war on terror and is NOT illegal immigration/securing the borders, but IS.... (drumroll) Global Warming and the evils of YOUR automobile/SUV/Musclecar/ride/wheels/lawnmower.

The country is at war against a global enemy hellbent on destroying us, the illegal immigration problem is seriously out of control and much of the country is currently experiencing one of the coldest and worst winter storms in history, so Democrats tackle ..."global warming".

Brilliant. (lol)
Republicans need to just shut up and let the Democrats talk until 2008... that oughta' do it.... save all that campaign money, it won't be necessary.

In other news, I see that Stuart Smalley...errr Alfranken (D) MN, is "thinking" (sic) about running for the Senate against Norm Coleman. Maybe we can get Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell to run also.
That oughta' do it.

oh, be sure to watch the Barrett-Jackson car auction on the SPEED channel (65 Cox cable) for over 40 hours of coverage this week to see just how much Americans HATE gas guzzling, high-horsepower, ozone destroyers.
People will line-up to pay over $1million for a 1969 Z-28 Camaro, Hemi-Cuda or Mustang GT 400, but won't give ya' a nickel for your hybrid electric whatever or 1974 pinto 40mpg economy car. (here's my post last year following the 2006 Barrett Jackson ...enjoy!)

How long have we been hearing from all the experts and conventional wisdom that we ALL need to lower our cholesterol (LDL) to live a healthier life?
LDL is BAD and we MUST get it as low as possible... right?

(Reuters) Washington, D.C. "New research
showing a strong link between Parkinson's disease and low levels of "bad" cholesterol are so worrying that U.S. researchers are launching a study to look into it.
The team at the University of North Carolina is planning clinical trials involving thousands of people to see whether statin drugs, which lower low density lipoprotein, or LDL, might actually cause Parkinsons."

"Liberal Science" is so funny... they remind me of the weathermen... they make predictions that rarely come true and then come out the very next day with a big smile and make more predictions that contradict the ones from the day before and never even blink.
... and that's YOUR forcast for today!
One of my favorite issues of National Geographic in my "library" (john) from this past year is titled "Killer Hurricanes...No End in Sight"...(on the cover, no less) and of course we didn't have a single hurricane all season.

zero accountability and unquestioned credibility= "bad medicine".
Q: So when are we going to see Michael J Fox doing commercials telling us not to let our LDL (cholesterol) get TOO low which can lead to Parkinsons disease?
A: As soon as it might help a Democrat get elected and not a day before.

UPDATE: 1/18/07- MSNBC aired the old "Supersize Me" fake-u-mentary last night as if it were authentic news... anyone who has ever made it all the way to the end of the show (zzzzzz) saw that the subject was actually healthier AFTER a month of intentionally overeating nothing but McDonalds without any exercise than he was before the science project gone-bad began. The Doctor says his blood levels were all normal (some had even improved) and he gained a few pounds but was still in the normal range for his size. So the point of the entire affair debunked itself.
Classic stuff. They are counting on the fact that most people won't make it through the show and will just take them on their word in the first half that he may not live through the event...

President Bush; Pardon US Border Guards Now

If there ever was a good reason for a Presidential pardon, this is it.
Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, not only deserve a pardon, but an apology as well.
The two U.S. border guards shot a drug dealer (in the rearend) who had crossed the border illegally (with 800 lbs of pot) and had assaulted one of the officers. Both men were then were convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison for essentially doing their job. Meanwhile the drug dealer received amnesty for testifying against the officers...then, he was arrested AGAIN (for smuggling drugs across the border) and received amnesty AGAIN!

Grassfire.org has a petition headed for President Bush's desk. Please visit their site and sign on.
To: President George W. Bush,

As a citizen of the United States I am outraged to learn that two U.S. Border Agents have been convicted of lengthy prison terms for doing their jobs-- pursuing illegal aliens who cross our border, and Im calling on you to officially pardon them for their actions.

I am even more outraged to learn that this illegal alien (who was attempting to smuggle about 800 pounds of marijuana into our country), was tracked down by a Department of Homeland Security Investigator and granted immunity for his testimony against these two agents!

This is a terrible injustice, and I urge you to use your considerable authority and power to pardon these two agents and right this obvious wrong!

So far there have been 243,584 signors to the petition.
If President Clinton can get away with practically selling pardons on ebay, Bush shouldn't hear a peep out of the left on this one.

In a totally unrelated story here in Oklahoma during the "Ice Storm of 2007" weekend, a van with 12 Mexican nationals (illegal immigrants) crashed into a semi-tractor trailer on the icy roads where 7 were killed in the accident. News reports today confirmed that the van had left Mexico the day before the accident and all occupants of the van were here illegally, headed for North Carolina.

One must wonder how many "vans" traverse Oklahoma during good weather?
One must also wonder about just how easy it is for other "vans" to cross illegally and unseen with much more dangerous cargo than "undocumented workers" on-board.

Hey Oklahoma, What Do You Wanna' Be....... ...(when you grow up)?

OKC is in a position that most cities have only dreamed of.
Bringing both the Penguins (NHL) AND the Hornets (NBA) to Oklahoma City would almost immediately move OKC from being a "one horse town" (college football) to becoming a legitimate bigtime sports town (and state).

Yet, I heard on the news this morning that "officials" (whatever THAT means) are wondering whether Oklahoma can handle two winter pro sports teams.

I was fortunate to live in Denver in the mid 70's and remember what bringing the Broncos (NFL) and the ABA/NBA (Rockets then Nuggets) and the NHL (Rockies then Avalanche) followed by the (baseball) Rockies (MLB) and even major league soccer did for the state. Since then Colorado has added several minor league franchises around the state including the Eagles near Loveland, CO who play against the OKC Blazers and the Sky Sox baseball team in Colorado Springs. Basketball programs in the inner city and around the state improved dramatically. Youth Baseball and Softball programs grew with support from the Colorado Rockies who built new fields and provided youth with local stars to look up to.
The Avalanche won the hearts and minds of Coloradoans across the state, and a guy named Patrick Roy became as big of a legend as John Elway.
In the 1970's when there was occasional talk of bringing MLB to Denver, "officials" said it was just a "one horse town" and would never support any other sports team but the Broncos.
The "officials" were wrong.

The growth of the city(s) following each of those additions was breathtaking to watch over the years and if you have ever been to the Mile High City you know that there is plenty to do in Denver (besides going to the slopes) and the growth all along the "front range" (as it is called) is spectacular.

Oklahoma is positioned to put Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, and New Mexico in the rear view mirror as far as attracting new business, new residents and providing a quality of life that people seek. (I know Kansas has pro sports... but they are shared with MO)

Going directly from ZERO pro sports teams to TWO major league sports teams at the same time is similar to what Denver did with the Colorado Rockies and the Avalanche, adding both teams within a few years of each other... but better!

Yes, Oklahoma can support two winter sports teams at the same time when you consider that selling out a NBA or NHL game means only 18,000 max. Not the 40,000 for MLB or the 75,000+ required to support the NFL.
While there are some crossover fans, the NHL and the NBA draw different folks to games by and large.
Hockey fans are very, very loyal fans... and if I remember correctly the Blazers are one of the top drawing minor league hockey teams in the country.
The immediate rivalry with the Dallas Stars (formerly Minnesota North Stars) would be exciting, fun and another excuse to beat up on Texas.

Oklahoma is in a position to "go for two" and win it all or "go for one", play it safe and hope for the best.
If Oklahoma puts all the eggs in the Hornets basket... and it falls through, not good.
If Oklahoma puts all the eggs in the Hornets basket and passes on the NHL, it could be decades before the chance for another pro team comes along.

Bringing both and supporting BOTH will assure that other pro teams seek to come here ASAP and not later. Bringing both to Oklahoma will increase business, increase housing, increase property values, bring new restaurants, new malls, new walmarts, new housing additions, new jobs and a new pride to the state without hurting the Sooners or OSU one bit... in fact, the college sports teams in Colorado only got more support following pro sports coming to town.

Within 5 years many highschools in Colorado added inline roller HOCKEY to their sports programs following the arrival of the Avalanche. Now virtually every school has hockey in addition to all the other sports. Denver University has prospered greatly from the presence of the NHL.

Step up to the plate Oklahoma, it's your time to "hit one out of the park".
"Since you built it (the ford center) they indeed did come".
The only question is, NOW what are you going to DO?
-red
UPDATE: 01/17/07- OKC "fumbles" puck, can't compete with KC or Pittsburg say's Oklahoma businessmen who will focus on obtaining an NBA franchise.

Happy Martin Luther King Day

Democrats led by Senator Barbara Boxer (D) CA., celebrated Martin Luther King day by.... bashing one of the highest achieving Women on the planet who's grandparents actually WERE slaves. (AP photo)

During Senate hearings Boxer criticized Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice for being single and not having children and therefore (according to Boxer) is not qualified to make decisions on foreign policy, and in particular on "war". Never mind Rice's multiple Phd's and vast experience for her age.

The most listened-to radio talk-show host said it best..."here you have a rich white chick with a huge, big mouth trying to lynch an African American woman just days before Martin Luther King day, ...is hitting below the ovaries".

Had a Republican said something about Oprah or Whitney or Whoopie or even anything remotely close to what Boxer said, the Democrats and moonbat media would be howling about racism, sexism and every other "ism". What have we heard about this on CNN, MSNBC, CBS or any of the others? (cricket noise)

Is this a good example of how Democrats strive to UNITE the country?
Boxer needs to apologize immediately and resign from any/all committees or party leadership positions as Republicans have done in similar situations.
Women should be outraged and minorities should be enraged at Boxer and the entire Democrat party who stand quietly by ...snickering at what they view as an attack on Bush blinded from seeing it is an attack on single women and minorities alike.

Instead, Boxer (D) CA will probably get a raise and a gold star from the Democrat party and the media.
Condi
, (Sec Rice) showing grace, intelligence and maturity beyond Democrat comprehension, shrugged Boxer's attack off with a simple... "...I'm not even sure what she meant".

Senator Robert "KKK" Byrd (D) VA was unavailable for comment and Senator Ted Kennedy (D) MA was busy this weekend escorting young white female interns across a river. Bill and Hillary were BOTH also busy interviewing potential young white female "interns" and staff for her (their) upcoming Presidency.

I'ts obvious that Democrats still don't get who the real enemy is... nor do they understand the meaning of "color blind" or non-partisan (bi-partisan to the rest of you).
(hint)The enemy is not the first African American woman to be Secretary of State and it's not the President of the United States who appointed her... in fact the enemy that deserves your wrath and critique is not a Republican or Democrat.
But I don't want to spoil the surprise... go figure out who the actual enemy is on your own, that is if you can get passed your rich, racist, sexist, partisan political bias.

Meanwhile most Red Staters already recognize and praise the achievements of ALL minorities- period.
God Bless all those who seek to fulfill Dr. Kings dream of ending racism.
Most of us are already there, judging others by their personal ATTITUDE rather than by skin color or gender... Waiting on (and wondering about) those who still only see color, still hanging on to the past, using perceptions based on the past, preventing that dream from becoming a complete reality in America.
I must also wonder about those who refuse to respect the intelligence and achievements of minorities simply because they disagree with their political beliefs.
Example?
If Condi Rice were only a Democrat, she would be considered a shoe-in for President (or Queen), on the cover of every magazine as the smartest woman in the world... maybe the universe, and the sweetheart of the media.
Instead she gets disrespected and called every name in the book (including some which are racist... as by Harry Bellafonte and others)

Until liberals and Democrats are willing to rid themselves of racist actions and attitudes, they are in fact the last obstacle for Dr. Kings dream to be realized... not conservative Republicans.

America has come a long way (baby) and we've got a long way to go... but not until we all think of ourselves as "Americans" first and not "Fill in the Blank-Americans", will we have achieved Dr. King's dream.

Who Agreed to That?

Two leaders met this weekend who said they were ready to spend billions of dollars (euros) financing projects in other countries to help thwart US domination.
(This new agreement) “... will permit us to underpin investments ... Above all in those countries whose governments are making efforts to liberate themselves from the (US) imperialist yoke,” said ??????.
“This fund, my brother,” (??????) said referring to (????????), “Will become a mechanism for liberation.” “Death to US imperialism!” he said.
President (????????) called it a “very important” decision that would help promote “Joint cooperation in third countries,” especially in Latin American and African countries.

What type of "projects" are they already financing?
"
...bankrolling militant groups in the Middle East like Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, as well as insurgents in Iraq,..."

When you read who the two leaders are, (and what they are planning to do) illegal immigration and our southern border might just become a lot more important to you

Who Said That?

This Speech was given over this past weekend...

"Today we face a situation, which yet again changes the paradigm within which military, politics and public opinion interact with each other. Put simply, September 11 2001 changed everything. Three thousand people died on the streets of New York. They did so as a result of a terrorist, suicide mission. The mission was planned and organised by the Al Qaida group out of a failed state, Afghanistan, thousands of miles away. The state was run by a fanatical, religiously motivated dictatorship, the Taleban. Even now, the bald facts of what happened are utterly extraordinary. But though September 11 did indeed change the way we look at the world, the profound nature of the change for our armed forces was not immediately apparent.
[...]What was unclear then but is very clear now is that what we were and are confronted with, is of a far more fundamental character than we supposed.
September 11 wasn't the incredible action of an isolated group, a one-off strike masterminded by Osama Bin Laden.
It was the product rather of a world-wide movement, with an ideology based on a misreading of Islam, whose roots were deep, which had been growing for years and with the ability to mount a radically different type of warfare requiring a radically different type of response.
What we face is not a criminal conspiracy or even a fanatical but fringe terrorist organisation. We face something more akin to revolutionary Communism in its early and most militant phase.
It is global.
It has a narrative about the world and Islam's place within it that has a reach into most Muslim societies and countries.
Its adherents may be limited. Its sympathisers are not.
It has states or at least parts of the governing apparatus of states that give it succour.
[...]The notion that removing two appalling dictatorships and replacing them with a UN backed process to democracy, with massive investment in reconstruction available if only the terrorism stopped, could in any justifiable sense "inflame" Muslim opinion when it was perfectly obvious that the Muslims in both countries wanted rid of both regimes and stand to gain enormously, if only they were allowed to, from their removal, is ludicrous. Yet a large part, even of non-Muslim opinion, essentially buys into that view. So our enemy will see their strategic advantages as terrorism and time. They are not a conventional army. They can't be defeated by conventional means. This is the enemy our Armed Forces face today.
The enemy knows something else also.
That when they kill our soldiers, it provokes not just understandable grief and anguish, but resulting from that, a questioning of why we are "there"; what it's got to do with "us"; how can the struggle be worth the sacrifice in human terms.

Yet to retreat in the face of this threat would be a catastrophe.
It would strengthen this global terrorism; proliferate it; expand its circle of sympathisers.
Given the nature of it and how its roots developed, long before any of the recent controversies of foreign policy, such retreat would be futile.
It would postpone but not prevent the confrontation."

So, who gave the above speech in the past few days: (pick only one)
A: Nancy Pelosi (44?)
B: Ted Kennedy (44?)
C: Harry Reid (44?)
D: John Kerry (44?) or Algore (44?) or John Edwards (44?) or Howard Dean (yeeeehaaaa 44?) or Jimmy Carter (39) or even Billy (beer) Carter
E: Barack Obama (44?)
F: Bill (42) and/or Hillary Clinton (44?) or anyone else in the Democrat Party
G: Benjamin Netanyahu
H: Tony Blair
I: Kohfi Annan or anyone at the UN (or formerly at the UN)
J: George W Bush (43)
K: Dick Cheney
L: Condoleeza Rice
M: George H Bush (41)
N: Carl Rove
O: Red S Tater
P: Oklahoma Lefty
Q: Professor Rodger A Payne, Professor Elliot Cohen, Professor Stephanie Craft, Professor Ward Churchhill or any other moonbat academic idiot
R: Al Franken, Michael Moore or any Hollywood foreign policy "expert"
S: David Podvin, Jamil Hussein or any fake journalist or other fake reporter/stringer
T: Osama Bin Laden or any Muslim including the so-called peaceful ones
U: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (peaceful Muslim)
V: Hugo Chavez
W: Kim Jung Ill
X: Fidel Castro
Y: Jacques Chirac
Z: Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin or any other dead dictator.

If you guessed Nancy and/or Harry, ... sorry.
And no, it wasn't Joe Liberman (I) (d) either... But we sure are gonna' miss this person when they're gone.

"Fixing" America in 100 hours

The Democrats vowed to really get things done in their first 100 hours (but they don't mean the actual first 100 hours) in power to show Americans what they can do with their POWER.
So here are their solutions to the biggest issues facing America (however long it takes them).

#1- The War in Iraq… ...........(cricket noise)
But the Democrats ARE planning a “symbolic” vote against the President's new surge for victory. ..(to show their “support” for the troops?) but as far as any Democrat plan or strategy for the war itself… (more cricket noise) Here is US Senate Majority Leader Harry Ried (D) …“the mission in Iraq is the Presidents job", ...(not ours). (followed by ...cricket noise)

#1A- The War on Terror …..........(more cricket noise)
…Jihad?… September 11th ring a bell? …(silence) …uhh “It’s the Presidents job not ours” (followed by cricket noise) and "We should not be sending troops in to the middle of a civil war". (.... cue the crickets)

#2- Illegal Immigration… (cricket noi…)
…Wait a minute, we have something here… the Democrat’s solution for ending illegal immigration of undocumented workers sneaking into America for low paying jobs….is by Raising the Minimum Wage (lol) which actually only creates MORE incentive for more illegal immigration (remember, ...vote Democrat).
Democrats are also discussing amnesty for those illegals (potential voters) and “tearing down that wall” before it even gets built.
That oughta’ fix it!

#3-The Economy… (holy cow, two in a row?)… the Democrats plan to slow down one of the best economic periods in US history is to RAISE ALL OUR TAXES thereby reducing the amount of money we all have to spend which will "reverse" the out of control economic growth we are experiencing. In addition, the Democrat plan to increase the minimum wage should also increase the jobless rate to more "reasonable" Clinton/Carter era levels.
That oughta’ do it!

#4- Healthcare costs… House Democrats wasted time and money by passing an embryonic stem cell research bill Friday that they know will be vetoed by the President. The Democrat majority passed the bill in spite of no evidence that demonstrates any benefit from embryonic stem cells that aren’t present in other forms of stem cell research (already funded) and in spite of new evidence that amniotic fluid provides stem cells with exactly the same possible benefits in every way as embryonic stem cells without destroying a human life or endangering the mother.

This important use (waste) of tax dollars should help bring down healthcare costs according to…. (Nobody).
This important allocation (waste) of tax dollars should provide new cures unavailable with other stem cell research, according to….(Nobody). But the pro-abortion people have gotta' have it or much of their argument goes out the window.(another story another time)

Democrats also passed a bill requiring the federal government to negotiate the price of pharmaceuticals covered by the new Medicare drug program patterned after the VA program which attempts to do the same. The problem is that this system forces the government to restrict the list of covered drugs thus reducing the quality of the coverage. 1.5 million Veterans are unhappy enough with that system to opt out and purchase the more expensive and inclusive Medicare coverage.

That should fix healthcare… so now we can tell Hillary… “never mind”.

I can hardly wait to see what other “brilliant” solutions the Democrats have…
(besides 75 more hours of .....cricket noises).

Hey Democrats; Get Free Plan For Fighting Terror Here

On a lighter note...

Since it is obvious that Democrats have absolutely no idea how to fight terrorism as evidenced by Harry Reid's "It's not our job" comments and the cricket noises we hear every time someone asks any Democrat (except Joe Liberman) to explain his or her plan/solution/suggestion/idea/thoughts on how to win a war/fight a war or admit we are even in a war, ... (lol)
I will step up and provide Harry, Nancy, Teddy, JFK (the other one), algore, Howie (yeeehhaaaw), Dick (Turbin) and "KKK" Byrd with some new surefire ideas that are certain to get them re-elected (which is their only real concern anyway).

Here Ya' Go...

Jihad Express
From recruitment to transport to club Gitmo in one easy step.

Black Hawks Revenge
Terrorists can't resist a downed chopper.

Jihadiphone
"Can you hear me now?"

Jihad Strategery
Something Democrats should recognize as familiar somehow.

War & Death; Another Sad Milestone

…A Time For “Perspective And Reflection”.
(Warning: Controversial subject... if you can't handle it, don't read it)

New figures show that there have been nearly 5 million innocent victims killed by the Americans since the beginning of the Iraq war.

That’s right, well over 4.9 million dead just since the invasion in 2003. In fact the total could be much more since the killing is so widespread that record keeping of totals is not done accurately and has to be extrapolated or averaged.
And it would appear that the killing, which remains willfully ignored by the media, is not ending any time soon.
It’s virtually “open season”.

The parents and relatives of the slaughtered victims live on; …some are hopelessly tormented by the loss, while others somehow feel liberated from the burden of responsibility for the victims and free from the responsibility of even caring at all.
It also appears that virtually none of the 4.9+ million victims were given a funeral or burial but instead they were simply hauled away with other bio-hazardous waste and burned.

In case you might be confused, the above true statements aren't happening in Iraq (far from it), but has happened/is happening right here in the USA-

While most Americans respectfully reflect often on the 3,000+ brave U.S. troops lost as well as all those injured fighting for our freedom and the freedom of Iraqi’s…
those who keep track of the deaths in Iraq to make a political statement along with those who DO in fact claim that our troops ARE killing innocents, should take a moment and reflect on the nearly 5 million unborn innocent babies killed right here in America (since the war began) …by abortion. There have been over 4.9 million American abortions (estimated total) since 2003 for mere “convenience”, in most cases.

That’s right, (just to be clear)…No, it’s not our troops in Iraq who are killing innocents, (Like some claim) but instead regular Americans right here at home in the USA just like you and me, your neighbors and mine... every single day.

You see, in my opinion
No human is more innocent than an unborn baby;
AND
No human is more noble than one who gives their life or limb in service to our country for the pursuit of freedom and liberty.

(I take both very seriously).

I’m sorry if you were happily reading along wrongly thinking that I was some college professor saying that the US troops are the foreign fighters who are killing innocent Iraqi’s. (Go here for that)

Also, there hasn’t been anywhere near 5 million people killed in the entire war since 2003 TOTAL… innocent or otherwise, but in fact, far less than 100,000 total dead in Iraq according to antiwar.com themselves.

So, what is the point?
To point out the Hypocrisy of the liberal left while exposing the ongoing abuse of abortion rights in terms that put the real numbers in perspective with the volume of anti-war voices (rhetoric) and unsubstantiated claims over Iraq along which is then amplified by the moonbat media over and over.

The liberal left displays extreme “outrage” and protests (salivates?) over every death of a US soldier who volunteered knowing the possibility exists of losing his/her life to defend their country…while ignoring, No- “promoting” the deaths of innocent unborn babies (abortions) who (A) didn’t ask to be conceived and (B) didn’t consent to being slaughtered (aborted) especially for mere political purposes or someone’s convenience.

Nearly 5 million of them in less than 4 years. WHY?

Pregnancy is NOT (repeat NOT) an airborne virus that randomly “infects” unsuspecting victims (in most cases) but pregnancy can be avoided or PREVENTED easily, affordably and even for free if needed. A woman can only get pregnant 4-5 days out of each Month and can easily/accurately predict/determine which days those are.

A condom costs less than a dollar and is available practically everywhere, there are foams, gels, sprays, IUD’s, (not, IED’s they are different) $1 ovulation test kits, “the patch”, “the shot”, and “the pill”.. and of course there is now a pill for the “morning after” just in case we “forgot” to use one of the hundreds (or thousands) of ways to avoid pregnancy in the first place!

In this case, No Responsibility + No Accountability = ABUSE of “rights” in my opinion. Women (and men who comply) are abusing the “right” to an abortion by not attempting to avoid/prevent the pregnancy in the first place. (with few exceptions)

Yet, the mass slaughter of the 5 million unborn babies is defended, protected, ignored and hidden by the left in America, who have no interest in reducing that number whatsoever, believing it is a “choice” and is the “God given right” of every woman (or girl without parental consent) according to those who don’t believe in God in the first place!

Meanwhile the 3,000+ brave men and women who made the “choice” to volunteer and defend their country knowing they may very well lose their life by doing so…(which is their God given right) is wrong, “criminal” and must be stopped immediately…according to anti-war liberals who are generally pro-abortion.

5 Million cubic feet of space = 8,000 full sized garbage trucks filled to the max.

Just think about how big of a pile of babies (“fetus” for you libs) 8,000 filled garbage trucks would make (for a second) and the next time you hear about someone praising the “difficult choice” to (have unprotected sex knowing they can just…) get an abortion, …think about that giant pile of 5 million dead babies again.

And the next time a pro-abortion/anti-war person says that one dead American is too high of a price to pay for freedom and security, remember that according to THAT SAME PERSON, even 5,000,000 dead American babies isn’t too high of a price to pay for having freedom from parenting and freedom from responsibility.

So the next time you think about “choice” please think about the “choice” the brave men and women in the military have made each and every day and the next time you see one, THANK HIM/HER for making that “choice” so that you can believe what ever you want. (and even put it on the internet) and say whatever you want without fear of the government stopping you or forcing you to believe anything (or nothing) or even have an abortion if you want. (However, radical Islamic fascists do not allow abortion unless it is performed on an infidel)

It is disgusting that 5 million abortions goes unnoticed in America, meanwhile during the same period, the left points out every hangnail sustained in the war in order to protest it for political gain and the trusty media is out buying fake stories from fake Iraqi stringers about deaths that didn’t occur to prove America is losing the war. Ie; Moonbats.

Now, before you jump to conclusions and misunderstand, …
Are there certain conditions where abortions are appropriate?
Yes of course. I’m not suggesting banning abortion, but those cases should be rare, not the norm.

Should abortion be used as just another form of birth control that is like a condom except you have months longer to make your “choice” and it’s a little more expensive?
No, of course not, - …(but it is), and that’s the point where it is abusing the “right” to have an abortion.

And, …before you comment “Should we not “report” or discuss the loss of troops then?”

Of course we should, in the context of honoring their sacrifice, dedication and memory for being heroes in the truest sense of the word. Absolutely YES, we should.

When in the context of those sacrifices being used cheaply in a running total on the top of an antiwar political blog or used as an example against the very things they died for and believed in, …then NO we (as Americans) should not.
Even if you are an antiwar parent of such.

5 million slaughtered unborn babies in America (since 2003) for mere convenience (or laziness) is a horrible tragedy and all of them are victims who’s deaths we (Americans) cannot be proud of. Yet "we" are silent and ignore them.

3,000+ voluntary brave warriors lost in combat while fighting for freedom and justice are honorable and are heroes for whom we all (Americans) should be proud.

Yet "we" protest and defame them.

This has been a Red S Tater Perspective, …reflect on it and “don’t leave home (or don’t stay home) without it”.

May God bless our troops and may God bless the unborn… two of the most worthy causes for blessings on God’s green earth.

The rest of us…already are blessed, just by living in America.

Bush to Terrorists... We're Coming to Get Ya'

After hearing all of the ideas from all of the so-called experts, what's the new plan for Iraq?

(see photo above for answer)

It may not be what liberals and Democrats wanted, but President Bush outlined the new strategy and plan for Iraq.
It involves adding 20,000+ US troops to achieve the universally accepted 1:50 ratio while changing the rules of engagement allowing those troops to better assist the Iraqi Army in controlling the violence and a strong committment from the Iraqi government to control Iraq by November 2007. It involves controlling the borders between Iran, Syria and Iraq and engaging foreign fighters who are now assisting insurgents coming into Iraq and even striking groups outside Iraq who are involved in the terrorist based violence there.

Bush to terrorists... Not only are we not going to "cut and run", we are sending (turning loose) 20,000 MORE US warriors who are coming to hunt you down and kill you. You can run but you cannot hide any longer.
Every battleplan for every war has changed throughout the war based on the conditions in theatre. This improved strategy in Iraq will succed, but don't think for a minute that Bush is suggesting the war against radical Islam is near the end. This war will go on for years... the only question is WHERE... over there or over here?

Democrats led by Senator Dick Durbin are opposing the new plan (of course) mostly because it wasn't their idea, but they have NOT offered any idea, plan or strategy (of course) for success in Iraq, nor have they addressed how they would handle the mass murder and violence that experts agree would transpire if US troops were withdrawn now (as Democrats are suggesting).

Senators John McCain (R) AZ and Joe Liberman (I.D.) CT both support the Presidents plan/strategy demonstrating non-partisan support from (3) parties to defeat our enemy but partisan Democrats like Durbin, Ried, Kennedy, Pelosi and Kerry still refuse to support ANYTHING to do with their enemy (Bush) even if it means supporting defeat for their country without offering any plan for what happens next.

So here are your choices:
Bush plan- Increase troops and kick-ass.
or
Democrats plan- (no plan except oppose Bush's plan)

This would be another good time to offer my VICTORY or DEFEAT challenge to liberals who are fed up with "no plan/accept defeat now" from the democrats.

Given the new Bush plan (increased troops, clear strategy, change rules of engagment, commitment from Iraqi's, timetables and Victory) do YOU support VICTORY or DEFEAT?

Unite the country, support US VICTORY in Iraq. (Vote in the poll accept my offer/challenge)

Prediction: Osama will be captured (or killed) by US forces long before Obama ever becomes Commander in Chief of US forces.

Added 1/11/07: After hearing the Democrats responses
...How can you not admire President Bush for standing his ground, not caving in and not buckling under the pressure from Democrats and the moonbat media?
Like him or not, he is brave enough to stand in the face of every accusation, lie and political bomb tossed his way and remain on target. People seemed to forget that he is the President and the President IS the Commander in Chief of the armed forces... HE alone says who, what, when and where... in addition Congress authorized the President to USE his authority in processing the war on terror and in the war in Iraq which have now become one and the same.
If you are one of the Islamic throat-cutting fascists you gotta' be scratching your turbin and saying... "what is this guy, the energizer bunny or the terminator... "we" (and the democrats along with the American moonbat media) turned Bush's entire country AGAINST him, defeated Republicans in an election, took over the US government and Bush is still coming after us...he's not human".

NEW LOOK, Same 'Ol Red

You Can Call Me "Red" or You can Call Me...

Out of respect for other bloggers who were using the name "Red Stater" like The Red Stater and similar redstater blogs before I came along, I will clarify and distinguish myself so there is no confusion about who is writing what-when and where.
First, a brief history...
I originally used the "login name" Red Stater (before I had a weblog) to post a comment over at Air America alfranken blogs a couple years ago (see my Kevlar Underwear Post)...where I was promptly banned and changed my login name to "red's tater" when I went to their sister blog Air America Place... where I was promptly banned.
I never cursed or called them any names (not even moonbat) while they spewed the most vile hatred possible, so I was the one banned... it turns out that conservative views are considered "hate speech". (they need a disclaimer)

Their one-sided restriction on ideas and views at a place (blog comment board) where ideas and views are the only thing relevant was insulting and motivating.
So, I decided to have my own blog where I knew the chances of me getting banned for standing up for what I believe was "significantly less".
"Red Stater" was born and even though I had done searches for the name "red stater" in an effort to not copy something 100 other bloggers were doing, I later found that The Red Stater and a few others had been around for a while.

I have had no conversation with any of the other "red stater" bloggers about this, but this is something I've been thinking about for a while.
If Madonna (Marge or whatever) and The artist formerly known as "Prince" can do it...

You can call me Red or you can call me Red S or you can call me redstater or you can call me Red's Tater or you can just call me Tater...but ya' doesn't have to call me Red Stater, unless ya' want to.

Hope this clears things up.

Weekend Update: Iraq- The Good News

While the news media has been repeatedly reporting on the 3 - 5 US casualties this weekend, the US Military keeps-on, keeping-on (unnoticed). Here is just some of the news that the Associated Press considers "not fit for print" and the main steam media considers "not worthy" of coverage during their frenzy to report the bad news from Iraq.

US Troops Kill 4 in Baghdad

From NEWS24- Baghdad 01/07/2007- US troops killed four people and captured a fifth in raids targeting suspected bomb makers in the Iraqi capital on Saturday, said the military.
The four were killed after they fled from American forces and took refuge in a building, where they refused to surrender, the military said in a statement. US troops found a fifth armed man hiding in a ditch and detained him, it said.
The US military also said on Saturday that troops captured an al-Qaeda cell leader in southern Baghdad a day earlier.
The suspect was allegedly responsible for co-ordinating and conducting kidnappings, torture and killings of Iraqi civilians and troops, the military said in another statement.Iraqi forces, backed by US troops, also captured four suspects in raids in Iskandariyah south of Baghdad on Friday, said the military

From Flopping Aces "Insurgents" Captured, Weapons Cache Destroyed.

  • 4th Iraqi Army Division Forces, with coalition advisors, captured seven members of an improvised explosive device cell during operations Jan. 6 in Samarra. The suspects are responsible for coordinating and conducting IED attacks against Iraqi civilians and security forces.
  • Elements of Multi-National Division-Baghdad, along with Iraqi Army elements, conducted a clearing operation designed to disrupt insurgent activities and deny urban support zones to terrorists from Jan. 1 to Jan. 5 in Hurriya, a northwestern neighborhood of the Iraqi capital.

    Results:
    • Detained 16 suspected insurgents
    • Soldiers confiscated illegal arms to include: 13 rocket propelled-grenade launchers, 17 AK-47’s with 20 AK-47 magazines, five rifles, two machine guns, 19 pistols, six mortars, and 12 blocks of C-4 explosives. They also seized three rocket-propelled grenades, two rocket-propelled grenade stabilizer shafts, and six rocket-propelled grenade booster rockets, along with identification cards, maps, insurgent propaganda, and 3.25 million Iraqi Dinar and $2,200 in U.S. currency.
    • With the support of Task Force 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, Iraqi troops provided medical care to the local population. Iraqi medics treated and gave medication out to approximately 2,000 Iraqi civilians during this operation.

  • Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 4th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division and Troop B, “Black Hawks,” 1st Squadron, 89th Calvary Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) detained 82 suspects terrorists during a combat operation north of Yusufiyah, Iraq Jan. 2.

  • Coalition forces found and destroyed a cache used for manufacturing and assembling improvised explosive devices in the Ghazaliyah neighborhood in western Baghdad Jan. 5. Soldiers from Company D, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Division, attached to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, found approximately 200 pounds of unknown explosives dispersed between two houses near the Al-Shadra Mosque in Ghazaliyah.

The operation targeted improvised explosive device cells operating near the town. Through intelligence provided by the Iraqi Army, troops worked with local residents of the area to help identify and detain the first suspect detained.

  • Iraqi national policemen captured four men and seized a sizeable weapons cache at a checkpoint in southeastern Baghdad Jan. 5. Elements of the 3rd Battalion, 6th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division detained four men at a checkpoint in the Hadar neighborhood. The men were detained after illegal weapons and terrorist propaganda materials were found in their cars following a search at the police checkpoint.
The search of the suspects’ two vehicles resulted in the capture of a sniper rifle, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, three assault rifles, assorted ammunition, weapons magazines and bomb-making materials.
During ongoing operations south of Balad Ruz, Soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 5th Iraqi Army, with support from coalition forces, continue to clear the objective area, targeting specific terrorist cells which historically use the area as a safe haven to conduct random attacks against the local population and maintain a supply base.
  • The current operations began Jan. 4, with a combined air and ground assault into the area in the outskirts of Turki village. IA and CF Soldiers established mobile and stationary positions along possible escape routes to isolate the area and facilitated the searching of the area for weapon supplies, improvised explosive device-making material and terrorists.

  • The terrorists believe we will not attack them in their safe havens and believe they can use these areas to spread violence throughout the region,” said Col. David W. Sutherland, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division commander, and senior U.S. Army officer in the Diyala province. “The 5th Iraqi Army Division believes that we must continue to take the fight to those individuals that use violence against the Iraqi people for their own personal and financial gain. The Coalition Forces will continue to support this Iraqi Force.”

  • Soldiers of the 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI) conducted a nighttime raid on a Baghdad meat-packaging facility suspected of being a terrorist meeting place in the Al Rashid district Jan. 7.

The 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division concurrently assaulted the salt factory next door, also a suspected terrorist planning area. Joining the two U.S. units on the operation were members of the 3rd Battalion, 4th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division. The two-pronged joint assault netted 32 detainees and more than 20 weapons, including 11 AK-47s, a Kalishnikov assault rifle, two Russian-made carbines, 15 60mm mortar rounds and a submachine gun.

The men detained, some of whom were guards at the building, were held on suspicion that they were allowing the buildings to be used as a terrorist rendezvous point, a suspicion strengthened by the weapons found in the area.
Task Force to help rebuild Iraqi businesses...
A team of 60 industrial leaders and business analysts in Iraq to get 200 idle factories up and running.
Once the factories are opened, the U.S. military will contract with them as much as possible for goods and services supporting U.S. military operations in Iraq. Most of this business, which amounts to about $4 billion a year, currently goes to companies outside Iraq.

Democracy not working in Iraq?
Women comprise 25% of the Iraqi Parliament, which is the highest proportion in the Arab world and one of the largest percentages worldwide. Go here for more good news on the progress being made.

Why isn't this stuff reported?
It doesn't fit the agenda of the mindless, mainstream, moonbat media.
US forces have had several victories in the past few days, but all we hear about is news of more US casualties and more debate about "defeat".
It is obvious these "journalists" may have taken some college courses which help them to "sympathize with the insurgents" and believe "the US troops are the foreign fighters responsible for killing the majority of innocent Iraqi's."

Film at Eleven... and oh yeah, ..."have a nice day".

One Picture is Worth a Thousand Professors

Hey liberals, (and Professor Payne) Instead of arguing with ME...

Tell this Iraqi boy that...
"A US victory in Iraq is NOT possible".

And tell these children that...

"US troops are the foreign fighters who are responsible for killing the majority of innocent Iraqi's".

See if you can "make these students...

...sympathize with the insurgents" (terrorists)

Tell this boy that...

..."U.S. troops are the problem in Iraq".

Or tell this boy who was hit by terrorist IED shrapnel that...

...US troops are responsible".

Perhaps this headline will help Professor Payne convince these Iraqi girls school students to "sympathize with the insurgents"...

"Marines Thwart Insurgents Attempt To Destroy NEW SCHOOL For Girls"...

How about telling these kids that...

they are cheering for the "foreign fighters who are killing the majority of innocent Iraqi's".

Maybe Professor Payne can explain to these kids how this soldier...

who is giving them his personal MRE (food) is "the biggest problem in Iraq".

Or perhaps Payne should tell this Iraqi father...

that he should be taking his sick child to the "insurgents" for medical "treatment".

Or tell this father and boy that...

they should get water and supplies from the nice insurgents and not from the "foreign fighters who are killing the majority of innocent Iraqi's".

Perhaps Professor Payne should teach this boy that...

Bush is a liar and that "foreign fighter" beside him is the enemy, so he should trust the "insurgents" instead.

Maybe the good professor can explain to this Iraqi boy...

how these soldiers who are attending to his medical needs are the enemy and the "insurgents" who blew a hole in him are his "friends".

Professor Payne should explain to this woman...

that "democracy in Iraq is not possible".

Or maybe tell these Iraqi's that...

their "democracy will fail ", so why bother voting?

How about we send Professor Payne to inform these Iraqi soldiers...

that that they will fail and the US should abandon them.

Or maybe we should just put professor Payne on Iraqi televison to proclaim that...

Iraqi's were "better off" when this guy was alive and in power.

Maybe that would help the good professor "sharpen and hone his debating skills".

UPDATE: To be fair I must also direct you to see these atrocities committed by US troops as well. (click on powerpoint show, download and view the horrible images)

With "special" thanks to Professor Rodger A Payne for the anti-American "quotes".
