The Day The Music Died

It has been said (and I agree) that if John F Kennedy were alive today, he wouldn't be allowed in the Democrat party.
(See Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman for details)

I contend that while so-called conservative Republicans are claiming to be looking for a true Ronald Reagan conservative to vote for, that in fact if Ronald Reagan were alive and was able to run for president he wouldn't be allowed in the new Republican party any more than JFK would fit into today's democrat party.
(See Duncan Hunter for details)

The Republican party is becoming the party of RINO's and other assorted non conservatives as evidenced by John McCain winning in primaries and the policies of Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee along with the voting record of Fred Thompson and then there is Rudy Giuliani a NY liberal by any measure. Ron Paul isn't even on the same page or in the same book as conservative Reagan Republicans.

So while conservative America claims to be searching for the one true Reagan conservative, those same Americans ignored and finally ended the presidential hopes of the only one true Reagan conservative in the race for president. Go figure. The Republican party took a giant step to the left on Saturday night. Following Duncan Hunter's departure from the campaign, this is what we are left with.

Rudy- pro abortion, pro gun control and a poor record of enforcing immigration laws.
Mitt- pro embryonic stem cell research and pro socialized healthcare.
Fred- McCain Feingold would not have passed without Thompson and Bill Clinton might have been impeached if not for Thompson.
John- McCain Kennedy Amnesty bill, bringing enemy combatants to the US by closing Club Gitmo, McCain Feingold... hardly conservative.
Mike- LOL, increased taxes more in Arkansas than Bill Clinton... in less time and released more criminals from jail than Bill Clinton sold pardons to in his final days in the White House not to mention free education for illegals but not for Arkansas citizens.
Ron- It's "peace through strength" Ron, not "strength through appeasement".

So there you go folks, have fun finding the one true Reagan conservative amongst this bunch of pretenders and never were's.
What a joke.

Conservatives aren't looking for a true Reagan conservative, conservatives are looking for what they remember about Reagan... his persona, his image, his personality but not his ideals and values. (See Duncan Hunter) America wants a showman, an entertainer but not a conservative. True Reagan conservatism died yesterday at 8pm pacific time.
Newt was right when he earlier made the claim to Tim Russert.

And on this day that Reagan conservatism died, what did we see from the conservative talk show hosts on their blogs?
A tribute to a good man with true conservative policies and voting record?
Ann Coulter - who once said Duncan Hunter was magnificent now says... cricket noise.
Laura Ingraham- cricket noise
Michelle Malkin- * (UPDATE BELOW)
Tammy Bruce- cricket noise and a picture of Sharon Stone in tight pants.
Sean Hannity- cricket noise
Rush Limbaugh- * (UPDATE see post above on authentic conservative)
Glenn Beck- cricket noise, in spite of the fact that at one time Glenn supported the one true Reagan conservative.

Last night the one true Reagan conservative withdrew from the race for lack of support.
What do we hear from all the so-called Reagan conservatives today?
Cricket noise.
Maybe tomorrow they will all see the light and pay tribute to America's loss.
Don't hold your breath though.
Bye, Bye Miss American Pie...drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry.

UPDATE: MIchelle Malkin had this short but sweet message about Duncan Hunter...
" He brought substance, experience, integrity, and a commitment to the nation’s sovereignty and strong defense to the table.
Thank you, Rep. Hunter."
"Substance, experience, integrity"... Ah, so true Michelle, it's too bad America isn't interested in any of those qualities.

In my right sidebar margin there are links to folks who call themselves "Reagan conservatives"... tomorrow I will be removing the links to those who make that claim falsely.

I dont blame you. I havent watched Fox News since they banned Hunter from the Debates. Actually, I havent watched much of any tv now, seeing how everything is manipulated by the Media. They all make me sick!!! There is one Guy you can put on your blog, and that's Pat Gray. He was with Hunter until the end. just barely, but he still promoted the guy every chance he could.
