Thank You Duncan Hunter and Rangers

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those involved with the GoHunter08 campaign. You made me feel like family. What an outstanding group of supporters Duncan Hunter has.
Roy Tyler, thank you sir for listening to an old country boy out here in the middle of America and for the opportunity to be a part, if only in a small way, of what you and Congressman Hunter have been attempting to achieve.
Your cause is just, your integrity obvious and your efforts appreciated.
And Pat Briley, thank you sir for making it possible for this old country boy to genuinely be a part of something real and I believe good for my country.
You are a true patriot and I consider you a friend. We will continue to fight for conservative principals no doubt.
Steve Conner, you are a man with true talent and it was great working with you and I'm sure we will find ourselves on the same team again down the road.
Ann Coulter, thank you for helping me and others discover Duncan Hunter.
Had you not called him "magnificent", I would not have found the one true conservative when I did.
To the Rangers at the ACOC, God Bless each and every one of you. Pixie, Russell, The Hammer, Maredie, (and Alex), the youngpeopleforGohunter08.com kids and the entire gang, it has been a pleasure knowing you and talking Duncan Hunter with you.

Finally to Duncan Hunter, sir it has indeed been a pleasure to have been a small part of your campaign and efforts.
I hold my head high when I say that I will always be a Duncan Hunter supporter... an honorary Ranger for life, so to speak. You truly do represent genuine conservative ideals and were the one true conservative in the race for President and I believe Ronald Reagan himself would be/is very proud of what you have been able to achieve.
God Bless you sir, no finer candidate for any office have I ever supported in my 54 years.
Thank you so very much for giving me that opportunity,
Sincerely,
-Red Stater

It comes as a shock to those of us in close contact with the campaign, I spoke to Roy Tyler earlier in the day and I am certain it was a shock to him.

I know it was to me...

We lost a rare opportunity to elect a great man. I have blogged about Duncan for over one year, hosted several house parties, and handed out a ton of lit. I have no regrets.
Duncan is young and I think we have not heard the last from him.
We can hope that a deal was brokered and Hunter will get a VP or Sec of Def nod.
In todays politics it takes money and lots of it. Sad but true. If we could have raised 15 million for Hunter...today would be different. Duncan did not get the big money because he is not a sell out. unlike the others, he is not, and has never been for sale.
A couple things I have learned in the past year - So called conservatives like Hannity and Rush are blow hards. They should have been all over supporting Duncan, yet we see what happened. A friend who helped me hand out lit for Duncan asked if we did enough..I said we can never do enough for a man like Duncan Hunter.

On a good note-I found your blog and some others because of Duncan. I am thankful for that.
Hey buddy..Get this blog set up on BNN..here is the link.

The big question now is Where do we go from here? True conservatives are now lost. Rudy? Huck? Mitt? I think I'm gonna puke.

The way I saw it, Thompson would have lost SC and got out. Guiliani would have lost Florida and got out, which left Hunter going into the Texas primaries in March and would have had a shot back in it. Texas has 138(?) delegates, he would have had a tremendous shot at winning. It was Way too premature for him to get out.

Exactly 12 hours after the announcement (8am pst) I received a call from Roy Tyler, Duncan Hunter's campaign manager.

I was planning to call HIM later in a couple days after things settled down and leave him a message of thanks.
This man owed me nothing and doesn't know me from Adam yet took the time on a Sunday morning at 8am to call a nobody in Oklahoma just to say...."thank you" and visit a while.

These are the type people associated with Duncan Hunter.
That special quality is a part of what America is claiming to be looking for... the real deal, no BS, down to earth, good men.

Instead, America chose to ignore good men in favor of good entertainers.
I will never forget the 2008 campaign.
I will never forget Duncan Hunter and Roy Tyler.

I have never been so disinfranchised with the state of our country and where its heading than I am now. I had never gotten this involved in donating my time and money to a candidate that I felt so strongly about in any election!!! However, looking forward, after the shock wears off, what is left to do if Thompson bails out? This country has a lot of issues to face, and one of them is, Moral Bankruptcy!!!! GoHunter12!(?)

I gonna let things shake out a little before I do anything... politically speaking.

I will say this.
If the Republican party selects Huckabee, Giuliani or McCain (or paul LOL) I will probably not vote in the general election.

I am not a RINO.

Did I put an H in there by mistake somewhere?

RINO... Republican In Name Only.

from wiki-
"Republican In Name Only, or RINO, is a neologism believed to have been coined in 1992 by John DiStaso, senior political correspondent for the Manchester, NH daily newspaper, the Union Leader.[1] It is considered a disparaging term for a member of the Republican Party of the United States (the GOP) whose political views or actions are perceived as insufficiently conservative or otherwise outside the party mainstream.

How I have missed you, let me count the ways.
one million and six, one million and seven, one million and eight....etc etc etc.

Russell called me the other day and gave me your message.
I have been over at the "island of misfit toys" called CovertConservatives.com

It was started by a group that was banned from the acoc.
doc, caco and others are there too.

I am about the only Hunter backer there... fun stuff.

Wow. I hadn't realized that Hunter had dropped out. That is a shame. Whoever gets the GOP nomination would be wise to pick Hunter as for the VP slot.

thanks dave, Duncan Hunter is truly a man of conviction and principal.
Not sure if there is a place for that in today's politics.
We shall see.

Who do you think you're going to vote for now? Is there any chance Hunter will still be on the ballot when we vote?

9:28 PM
Blogger RD said...

As far as I know he will still be on the ballot for what that is worth... if so, I will throw my vote away and vote for the one man I believed in.

If Huckabee or McCain win the nomination... make mine Hitlery. !!!

If I'm gonna vote for a phoney, I want only the best.
