Why Some People Hate Christians
A local blogger posted recently about why he believes people hate Christians.
I think most people that hate Christians do so because of their own guilt, insecurity and self indulgences. Hating is easier and more convenient than considering it and practicing it.
Most people that hate Christians make up their own false or straw-man reasons which they easily knock down to make their point... like Bill Maher for example.
Most people that hate Christians call them hypocrites for not living up to the standards set in the Bible when these people know very well (if they read the Bible) that NO MAN or woman can or will live up to those standards... we all fall short of the target or in other words we all "sin". Christians don't think of themselves as better... just informed and forgiven.
No Christian is any "better" than the lowest sinner in the eyes of God. The difference is the Christian knows he/she has been forgiven according to God's word.
Some hate anyone who dares to condemn bad behavior... how dare anyone try to define right and wrong.
Some hate anyone who tries to be a better person, fails and tries again.
Some hate anyone who encourages them to be a better person.
Some just hate.
Some hate Christians because Christians are against abortion.
Some hate the idea that they are not God, all knowing and all powerful.
Some hate Christians because their friends hate Christians... and peer pressure is stronger than common sense in some cases.
Some hate Christians because it is the lazy easy way to deal with others beliefs.
Some hate Christians because their own religion teaches them to do so.
Some hate Christians for the billions of dollars they raise to feed the needy, help families in need and do good in the community... (thats the governments job).
However, some hate Christians just for the "fun" of it and don't really need a reason.

Not supringly, once again you have missed the point I was trying to make completely.
People do not have Christians because they feel "guilty" about their own actions. They hate them because of the behaviors and the attitudes of the Christians they have met in their life.
I hated Christianity for the longest time because of the way I was treated as a young person by the people in a local church's youth group. I was not guilty of my own sin. I hated them because the "Christians" were big jerks!
OBVIOUSLY we can not be EXACTLY like Christ. The idea is that we STRIVE to be MORE Christ-like. If you just going to be a complete butthead toward people that are different than you, you obviously are NOT trying very hard!!!
I am not saying any Christian is better than another. I am saying that some try to be Christ-like and other are just Sunday morning Christians that don't give a rip about other people and just want to look good by going to church.
There is a HUGE difference between condemning bad behavior and defining right and wrong. I actually DID point that out in my post. Jesus did not condemn anyone but the religious leaders. The sinners he treated as friends. Do you remember him coming down on the adultress? Nope.
You are sounding VERY judgemental there otter.
Isn't that what you hate Christians for?
I think one of the most important things that ALL major religions try to share is that we should not hate.
Those who hate Christians are no better than those who hate Gay people imho.
Peace,
