The "Anti-Environment Crowd" ?

When I was young growing up on 15 acres near Choctaw, the dirt road by our house was a popular place for dumping stuff. People came out to the country to dump apparently anything they couldn't fit in the garbage. We rescued dogs, cats and cleaned up trash along a couple miles of Henny Road. My dad would stop the pickup whenever he saw a new trash pile and we would load it into the back of the truck... dad would take the time to look through it sometimes for a name and address of who did the dumping and turned it in to the sherrif.

When we go camping, the rule is to "leave the camp cleaner than you found it".

I buy fishing licenses and hunting licenses regularly but only go fishing once or twice a year and hunting less than that... I figure it's okay since the money goes to wildlife conservation.

Having moved to Colorado and lived for a number of years in the mid 1970's, littering is a big no-no in this state and I learned not to even throw out a single gum wrapper or cigar butt a long time ago.

I plant trees... we have several hundred full grown pine trees on our property now that I planted when I was a teen.

When it was learned that paper bags were bad at the grocery store, I always asked for plastic... until we learned plastic is worse, now I use paper... from recycled material.

I save my aluminum pop cans and once took in over $90.00 worth at one time.

I believe that when coal companies mine coal that they revegetate the area back after the process, when oil companies drill they must take care to have as little impact as possible... but I do believe they should drill. It has been shown that it CAN and is being done with very little impact.

I care about the environment, the birds, trees, critters, humans... the whole deal. Everyone I know and hang out with is the same way.

But... it seems that to according to some, I may be part of some big "anti-environment crowd"... whatever or whoever that is.

I personally have never met anyone who was "anti-environment" nor have I heard of such people before.

Yes, I admit I've gone pee-pee behind the tree, but the tree lived.

But whoever they are, they are allegedly using the environment to "grab power" away from those on the left who are busy grabbing power via the global warming hoax.

And I thought I was just an innocent rightwing, woman hating, knuckledragging warmonger picking up trash and stuff.....

You are so green you could be a float in the next St. Patricks day parade.
Great post. For those who have regard for traditional Bible thumping "tend the earth command from the Creator" being green is part of our religion.

*sigh* Let me try this again Red because I apparently didn’t make myself clear previously. I was saying that there are members on the conservative movement and right-wing who are just as loony and have just as bad intentions are the wack-job environmentalists on the left. I was pointing out, for about the billionth time, that you do not see the flaws in your own team. In fact the only “flaws” you see in conservatives is that you think that they too often try to out liberal the liberals. In your eyes (based on what I have read) the only problem that you see with the GOP is that you think it is trying to be the Democratic-lite Party. That is not real criticism because you are just saying, in a nut shell, “my side is always right, holy, and on the side of God, except when they act like the other side.” (Obviously you did not say this exactly. This is the conclusion that I have drawn based on everything that I have read that you have written.)

dave said- "I was saying that there are members on the conservative movement and right-wing who are just as loony and have just as bad intentions are the wack-job environmentalists on the left."

Well, if that's what you were saying, then why didn't you just say that?

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY SAID...
dave- "Red --
There is as much power grabbing by the anti-environmental crowd as there is by the environmental crowd. "Your side" on this issue is not righteous at all."

You said "my side" is the anti-environmental crowd".

As usual, you then try and backtrack and soften your words into something else.

I asked you to name those on the right who are using a hoax about the environment to "grab power".... and as usual, you can't.

If i find something to criticize "my side" about, I certainly do it as much or more than you critique "your side".

The fact is that you can't provide any example of the right using a hoax like this to jam their agenda down peoples throats.
I know how you feel on the war in Iraq, so don't even go there.

Why don't you take your own advise and condemn the left for perpetrating this hoax on the rest of us. You know that's what it is.

You know what Red? I’m done with you. You are nothing more than a loud mouthed bully who treats anyone who disagrees with you like shit. When someone calls you on you’re a-hole tendencies you either try to blow it off or you rip into that person even harder, usually with personal attacks. You have nothing positive or worthwhile to offer society (or at least you have nothing positive or worthwhile to offer in your online persona…I have a feeling that you’re not as big of a dick in person as you are online). I have defended you against some ridiculous attacks and still you treat me like dirt. You have wasted my time for over three years now and I am completely fed up. If you can stop acting like a cock-bag then I’d love to have actual discussion with you.

The really frustrating thing about all of this Red is that I actually like you. If I didn’t I would have written you off as a joke years ago. You can be a nice guy, but those instances are few and far between and I just do have the time, energy, patients, or nerves to put up with this bullshit anymore. I do wish you the best of luck and hope that someday we can interact like adults but that time doesn’t seem to be now (heck…I’ve been reduced to throwing curse words at you directly and that is not my style but you really have pushed me over the edge).

My apologizes to everyone for my foul language.

Dave... can you not even take the slightest challenge to something you say?

You made the claim that I ignore those on "my side" (the anti-environmentalists) when they use climate change to "grab power".

I said BS... and asked you to give me an example and you said something about when people block wildlife preserves and wilderness areas.

I never made the claim that "my side" was "righteous" or anything close to that... in fact I have quoted Will Rogers numerous times with the "each party is worse than the other" quote.

The fact is you want me to condemn someone for something that we disagree on the premise of your objection.

You presumed that those on the right hate the environment or couldn't care less and in fact you couldn't be more wrong... however your definition of "caring about the environment" and ours is different.

We don't include "control of" in the meaning of "caring about".

Now... whatever I said to offend you... that wasn't my intention.

I've always enjoyed our interaction and never ever meant anything mean spirited or personally insulting I assure you it is tongue in cheek but I understand.

I won't post comments over at your place anymore if my sarcasm and style upsets you.

However... I may from time to time respond to one of your posts here at my place as usual.

And as usual you are welcome to comment.

Isn't that the point of blogging and having a comments section in the first place?

Look Red, I made a generalization, something that I should not have done, and when I provided the clarification that you asked for, you attacked me and accused me of backtracking. That pissed me off. And I understand that your sense of humor and sarcasm are very rough around the edges, but sadly that makes you come off as an a-hole to anyone who disagrees with you. I never said that you personally wanted to hurt the planet. I did make a reference to those conservatives who put business interest before the environment. These are well documented incidents that people like Limbaugh praise. In retrospect I should not have referred to them as the “anti-environmental crowd.” When I wrote that I wasn’t thinking of them as polluters or people who purposefully harm the planet, but I can see how my words could have been interpreted as such. The use of generalizations is something that you constantly do Red. We should both know better by this point. :-P

I will disagree that you don’t think conservatives are the righteous ones though. Notice that I said conservatives and not the Republican Party (we all know that you have issues with them). Obviously I cannot read your mind, but based on what you have written, it is extremely obvious that you believe that conservatism hold the best answers for society and that you have high levels of contempt for liberalism. My point was that you appear to be blind to the flaws in conservatism and the positives in liberalism.

As I’ve said before, I like interacting with you when you’re not being a jerk. We can disagree on issues without insulting one another. I’m will to give it another go if you are. Do you accept the olive branch?

Oh and I thought I’d made up the term cock-bag. It was something I threw together in a moment of frustration at work one day after having gotten verbally abused by someone on the phone. I’m not even sure what it’s supposed to mean but it sounded like a good insult at the time. One of my personality flaws is that when I feel backed into a corner and when I’ve had enough of the insults, snide comments, and bad jokes, I lash out (and am generally pretty darned mean spirited about it). I’m the butt of a plethora of jokes from everyone from my friends to co-workers to family members and sometimes I just get fed up with it. Your style of communication is very confrontational and thus comes off, to me at least, like you’re being a dick. Those who agree with you probably don’t see this because they agree with you and enjoy watching you beat up on those evil liberals. To those who disagree with you though, you appear to be a mean spirited, know-it-all, loud mouthed jerk. I’ve conversed with you enough to know that there is more than that mean spirited shell of an online persona that you wear while blogging, but even knowing that it is hard to step back from the never ending and often a bit self-righteous (no offense) tirades that you go on. I’m sorry that I reacted poorly.

Hey dave... I have said this before, I love ya' man. Not in a let's get civil union'd kinda way but in a go fishing watch some sports go to the races and shoot some bottles and cans kinda way.

I know how brutally brutal customer service is... believe me. More than once I started in customer service before moving to the sales div.'s and I have the utmost empathy for anyone who can sit there and take irate and ignorant phone call after phone call after phone call... line 2 is holding for you... phone call, it can make anybody wanna just scream.

Now if you've got friends and family that seriously berate you or embarrass you with jokes that you don't find funny, get new friends and tell your family to knock it off.

That's my job... and apparently I was good at it and I'm sorry if I ever said anything personally that hurt your feelings.

Now... yes, you got the tater. I believe that what is known as "conservative ideals" and Christian values are superior to the leftist liberal Democrat Socialist Party agenda.
(Film at 11:00).

btw- I thought the cock-bag thing was funny... you noticed the link to the bag with a rooster on it that i put up didn't ya?

We're okay dave... I never had a problem and was here all the time for ya' man.

Apology accepted. I’m just glad that we can come to an understanding on this. We all have our days and our moments and I could probably use a thicker skin but I’s am whose I am (or however it was that Popeye used to say it).

Hey dave, you were almost right on that anti-environmental thing... I am not anti-environment... but anti-environmentalist.
It's that "ist" that makes all the difference.

I'm against the wacko's that want to make us live in a cave reading poetry by candle-light... not you.
