Obama's Live it Up While Americans Suffer Economically

NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg thinks President Barack Obama's date night in New York last weekend was just peachy, but according to the billionaire mayor what isn't so peachy is the president's salary.

Bloomberg doesn't think $400,000 a year is much of a salary, even if it is what the commander in chief of these United States pulls down.

"The president doesn't get paid that much. He's on a budget, too," Bloomberg said Monday.

In another odd twist left unexamined by the media, the White House on Monday said it simply would not release the cost of President Obama's weekend jaunt to New York City, where the First Couple had dinner and caught a Broadway show.

In February, Obama scolded corporate executives (while also costing Las Vegas some $130 million) when he said: "You can't get corporate jets. You can't go take a trip to Las Vegas, or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers' dime."

The president has been criticized for the extravagant trip to New York in the midst of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression and with thousands of auto workers facing unemployment as General Motors prepared to file for bankruptcy and Chrysler was about to emerge from court-guided restructuring
