Wait. I have a better idea. Instead of divorce, how about an annullment. Pretend it never happened. Like it was all a bad dream or something.

I think "nightmare" is the word you are looking for.
I believe you are right. A nightmare that I wake up screaming from every time I turn around and hear about some new crazy crap Congress is trying to pull.
