Never Forget

President George W Bush throws a strike for the first pitch in the first game following the September 11th 2001 Islamic Jihad attack on America.
I remember this well as one of those rare moments when sports and life come together... as insignificant as a first pitch is, America needed Bushy to throw a strike and he confidently did. It was more than a ceremonial first pitch in the middle of a routine baseball season. It was a symbol of his determination... and of ours. For that brief moment we were Americans, united... standing. We must never forget.

Talk about the man and the moment: did you see that pathetic Obama toss at the All Star game Tuesday night? And he actually celebrated the fact that it bounced into Albert Pujols' glove?

How I long for the old days when we had a president who knew baseball. And patriotism.
