N Korea Threatens Attack, Obama Threatens... Finger Wag?

Update on "Pop Quiz Mr President" post.

North Korea Threatens to Attack U.S. & S. Korea Warships
May 27, 2009

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea threatened military action Wednesday against U.S. and South Korean warships plying the waters near the Koreas' disputed maritime border, raising the specter of a naval clash just days after the regime's underground nuclear test.

Pyongyang, reacting angrily to Seoul's decision to join an international program to intercept ships suspected of aiding nuclear proliferation, called the move tantamount to a declaration of war.

"Now that the South Korean puppets were so ridiculous as to join in the said racket and dare declare a war against compatriots," North Korea is "compelled to take a decisive measure," the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said in a statement carried by state media.

The North Korean army called it a violation of the armistice the two Koreas signed in 1953 to end their three-year war, and said it would no longer honor the treaty.

South Korea's military said Wednesday it was prepared to "respond sternly" to any North Korean provocation.

North Korea's latest belligerence comes as the U.N. Security Council debates how to punish the regime for testing a nuclear bomb Monday in what President Barack Obama called a "blatant violation" of international law.

I can't believe I am saying this but.....

We should have bombed those guys back to the stone age when we had the chance.

Okay but seriously, that country's leader is a very dangerous man. His rule their threatens way too many people. I am really surprised, honestly, that China hasn't taken that guy out already and claimed that land as their own.

I think they are in the stone age actually... they've got no electricity or running water in most of the country and no food in the rest of it. But don't worry about President Kim Jong Il... he's doing fine... fat and sassy.

I am really a bit amazed that our country has allowed them to continue in this fashion for so long. I think I am going to go back and study my Korean War history again.

I know... what a cluster#*%@ it was following WWII when we decided to only win a war by 1 point at the buzzer instead of kicking ass like we did in Japan and Germany. Probably a guilt trip perpetuated by the left following WWII... and the nukes and all.

Vietnam was the worst... trying to play tit for tat and not win by too much... what a tragedy.

Now here we are 50 years later and Korea is still a problem and Vietnam is still communist.

Japan and Germany however are doing fine.
