Government Can't Handle Running Post Office, Much Less Auto, Banking and Healthcare Industries

The United States Postal Service wants to cut back delivery to only 5 days per week citing budget problems. Shocking (not).

So, if you like the way the government has handled running the post office (zzzzz) and drivers license departments (zzzzz), and VA hospitals (zzzzzz) then you're gonna love our new government controlled auto industry and healthcare industry.

Learn this phrase.... "take a number" or better yet... "sorry closed".

Freddie And Fannie Were Fine Said Democrats

Thanks to Curt at Flopping Aces...

Get out the duct tape and wrap your head very tightly before viewing this video of 2004 hearings on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
After viewing ask yourself if Democrats are part of the solution or simply the problem?

Notice who is claiming Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fine, no problems, no regulation required and who is asking and begging for more oversight and increased regulation of those now failed institutions?

Democrats Lose Ball; Playing On Wrong Field

While claiming Republicans took their eye off the ball by going to war in Iraq which eventually led to the crippling of Al Qaeda, Democrats don't even know where the ball is.

Obama and Democrats continue to claim we need to be in Afghanistan fighting Al Qaeda in spite of the following facts which are conveniently ignored by the democrat controlled main stream media...
The one exception, and it is an important one, is the editorial board of the Washington Post. In an editorial two months ago, they said about Obama:

He insists that Afghanistan is "the central front" for the United States, along with the border areas of Pakistan. But there are no known al-Qaeda bases in Afghanistan, and any additional U.S. forces sent there would not be able to operate in the Pakistani territories where Osama bin Laden is headquartered. While the United States has an interest in preventing the resurgence of the Afghan Taliban, the country's strategic importance pales beside that of Iraq, which lies at the geopolitical center of the Middle East and contains some of the world's largest oil reserves. If Mr. Obama's antiwar stance has blinded him to those realities, that could prove far more debilitating to him as president than any particular timetable.
Obama and Democrats have no clue.
We are supposed to trust the safety of our grandchildren to these morons?
I think not.

Remedial Iraq For Liberals

Two excellent posts by Engram at Backtalk Blog (a registered Democrat and moderately liberal research professor)
The first compares the violence and murder rate of Iraq to other countries around the globe and the results may be surprizing... at least to democrats for certain.

Murder Rates Around The World (And In Iraq)

The second excellent article should be required reading for anyone planning to vote for Obama and/or any/every Democrat.

Two Visions Of Iraq

Both are well worth the read and then some.

Obama Outraged At Peace and Prosperity In Iraq

I had to laugh this morning at a radio ad by the Obama campaign which made the claim that we should be outraged that Iraq is considering building a giant ferris wheel as part of a theme park in Baghdad.
The ad also claims that we should all be outraged that Iraq has generated a $79billion surplus in it's budget.

These are the same people that not long ago said we should all be outraged at the never ending civil war in Iraq...that the war would never ever end... and now of course they are outraged about a theme park and a prospering economy?

LOL... sour grapes are so funny to watch.

How embarrasing for Democrats.

Democrat Party Splitting In Half?

Dare to question the almighty lunatic left and you too might find yourself without a political party...
From Kirsten Powers Blog:

More Dems Make The Wrong Choice
Yet another Democrat has turned against Joe Lieberman, but this time it's a group that had Lieberman as a founding member: The New Democrat Network (full disclosure: I used to serve on the Board, though I resigned from the group today after seeing this post). It's a disappointing and opportunistic position to curry favor with the (very) far left at the expense of a thoughtful Democrat who admittedly has made some poor
word choices that I and many others have complained about
. But he doesn't deserve to be thrown overboard, and certainly not by organizations he helped start.

From Simon Rosenberg's blog NDN Blog:

"It is time, my good friend. Senator Lieberman, it is time. Time to end this part of your remarkable career with dignity, grace and honor. You had a great run, made a great contribution, and done a lot of good. But it is time to move on."

This is insulting and patronizing. Lieberman is not a horse that needs to be put out to pasture.

While I did not support the Iraq war and have been very critical of it's execution, Lieberman's position on the war is perfectly reasonable -- that leaving Iraq right now would create a vacuum in which terrorism would flourish -- indeed it is the position Rosenberg holds. On the other hand, here is the attitude toward terrorism of the people who support Lamont:

"Within hours of the news that authorities had disrupted an alleged plot to blow up US-bound commercial airlines, liberal bloggers and commentators attacked the announcement, saying it was part of a plan to derail the political momentum of Democratic candidates such as Ned Lamont."

Yes, you read that correctly. Tony Blair shut down the UK airports to try and keep Ned Lamont from winning.

Or this. Daily Kos: CT-Sen: Lieberman is seriously unhinged:

"Lieberman has lost it. Completely and utterly. He is insane."

Why is he "insane"? He believes terrorism is a major threat on the level of Nazism or Communism. What a kook. Since the terrorists only dream of killing 6 million people, we shouldn't worry about them.

Democrat's Solution To Energy? "Ride A Bike"

From HumanEvents.com

By Terence P Jeffrey

Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives sent a message this week to hard-working commuters forced to pay historically high prices for gasoline:

"Ride a bike".

The message was buried on page 255 of a 290-page bill the Democratic leadership introduced at 9:45 p.m. on Monday night, forced through the Rules Committee at 10:00 p.m., and put up for a "debate" and final vote -- with no amendments allowed -- on Tuesday evening.

Section 827 of the bill defines the "Transportation Fringe Benefit to Bicycle Commuters."

It says: "The term 'qualified bicycle commuting reimbursement' means, with respect to any calendar year, any employer reimbursement during the 15-month period beginning with the first day of such calendar year for reasonable expenses incurred by the employee during such calendar year for the purchase of a bicycle and bicycle improvements, repair and storage, if such bicycle is regularly used for travel between the employee's residence and place of employment."

Bottom line: Employers could count as a deductible business expense a tax-free $20 monthly reimbursement to workers who bike to work.

Meanwhile, the bill, as explained to me by Republican congressional sources who combed through it in the hours before and after it passed, would effectively outlaw development of America's vast offshore oil resources.
...the rest of the story.

So one of you Democrats tell me, ...do these bikes come with snow tires?

Moderates Jump Ship As Democrats Shoot Holes In Boat

Thanks To RightWingNews Blog:

Relative moderates who haven't been driven out of the Democrat Party like Joe Lieberman are bailing out on their own, alarmed at how dangerously radicalized it has become.
Former Shrillary supporter Donald Trump was never a good fit for the Dems, considering that he wanted to rebuild the World Trade Center after 9/11, which is hardly in keeping with their chin-on-the-chest, defeatist mentality. As Politico reports, he's voting McCain primarily for a reason that should resonate with anyone following recent financial news:
"This is not the right time for tax increases. And Obama wants to increase your taxes drastically."

Despite "The One's" slick assurances that he will only raise taxes on people other than you, tax hikes on anyone would be disastrous, given our current economic situation.
But for BO, all that matters in economics is that "social justice" be imposed.
That is, Whitey gets it in the eye, and if an ebbing tide leaves all boats stuck in the mud, that just increases the Dems' government-dependent base.
Top Shrillary fundraiser Lynn Forester de Rothschild agrees that now is not the time to experiment with ultra-radicalism:
"I believe that Barack Obama, with MoveOn.org and Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean, has taken the Democratic Party — and they will continue to — too far to the left. I'm not comfortable there."

But Obama can rest assured that he still has the support of Hamas, the New Black Panthers, and the Communist Party USA.
At least Al Sharpton must be pleased with the direction his party is taking.

Democrats Trash American Flags

Thousands of flags found in garbage after Democrat Convention:

Photobucket

Republican Recycling
by David Harsanyi
Denver Post Blog
September 6, 2008

This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage — with dramatic effect, no doubt — and tell the story.

“What you see in the picture I sent you is less than half of total flags,” a Republican official emailed. “We estimate the total number to be around 12,000 small flags and one full size 3×5 flag.”

I’m not sure what the DNC was supposed to do with unused hand-flags, frankly. But the Republicans are obviously questioning someone’s patriotism here.

There are more photos of flags being trashed at the Pepsi Center where the first days of the Dem convention were held indoors.

I’ve been to many, MANY GOP presidential campaign events over the years and never do I recall seeing a single American flag tossed into the trash after the event. And yes, since I was a key political officer at some of these events I did often stay until the event was over. The flags I have from the events with President Reagan are now treasured reminders of those golden days.

Apparently, Democrats see the flag only as a prop to be discarded when the event was over. Does the flag hold so little meaning for Democrats that they treat it as trash rather than reuse it?

Rescued Flags to Be Reused at McCain Palin Rally

The flags are on their way to a McCain Palin rally in Colorado Springs where the Boy Scouts and Veterans of Foreign Wars will distribute them to the GOP faithful.

Thanks to Flopping Aces for the tip....

UPDATE: The Obama "people" came up with a doozey of an excuse... according to an official campaign announcement, the flags in question were waved by 75,000 patriots at Mile High Stadium and then later the flags were "stolen" (by evil Republicans) from THE TRASH and so (goes the story) the Obama campaign was simply going to get them out of THE TRASH later.... and use them.... in a patriotic fashion of course.

That garbage doesn't even come close to passing the smell test. lol

The Endless Insanity of The Democrat Party

The Democratic Party

Dear Red,

George Bush has said about the failed war in Iraq: "we're not leaving, so long as I'm the President."

So what do the Republican presidential frontrunners think about brining our troops home?

John McCain thinks that "there are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through" and believes that setting a date to withdraw our troops from Iraq is "a very bad decision."

Rudy Giuliani believes that "a timetable for retreat seems like a very bad strategy."

Mitt Romney believes that the war still has "a reasonable probability of success," and when asked just this morning if his policy would be the same as President Bush's, he said "of course."

Why don't the voices of the Republican presidential candidates echo the concerns of the American people?

We want to ask that question to as many people as we can before the 2008 election - and you can help. Right now the Democratic Party is creating a new ad on the war in Iraq. Instead of stating the case ourselves, we want people like you to explain why it's time to end the war and bring our troops home.

Help us out and become the Democratic Party's newest spokesperson:

http://www.democrats.org/IraqAd

Gov. Dean came to the DNC with one goal: to put the Democratic Party in the hands of its grassroots supporters across the country. Like you, he understands that the energy and determination of our members is our Party's biggest asset.

So rather than react to these out-of-touch Republican remarks with sound bites from Washington D.C. consultants, we want our response to reflect the views of the people who matter most: regular folks like you.

Make your voice heard now:

http://www.democrats.org/IraqAd

Democrats in Congress are doing everything they can to bring this war to an end, but President Bush and his Republican allies insist on prolonging the war indefinitely.

Meanwhile, our brave troops - perhaps your friends or family members -- continue to risk their lives every day. They are stuck in the middle of a bloody civil war with no military solution and no end in sight.

That's why we need to keep putting the pressure on. The majority of Americans are already against this war, but there are millions more who still need to be convinced.

By sending in your opinion on the Iraq War, you can be the person who does the convincing. Make your case today:

http://www.democrats.org/IraqAd

Sincerely,

Karen Finney

Yes, Insane but true... Democrats don't know what their message is... please send ideas (and money) to the DNC.
YOU could be the spokesperson for the party without a message.
Pathetic.
