Conservatives Message To Republicans: Follow Sarah Palin !

A new Rasmussen poll shows that in spite of the best attempts of Hollywood liberals and Democrats in cooperation with the main stream news media, a majority of GOP voters say that the party should be more like Sarah Palin.(and less like John McCain)

The numbers: 55% of Republicans say the party should be like Sarah Palin, compared to 24% who say they should be like John McCain.

Republicans proved that moving to the center (and left) just doesn't work in the 2008 election giving Obama the Presidency and Democrats control of congress after doing so. This poll suggests a strong move to the right is coming down the road since Sarah Palin is considered by hardline conservatives to best reflect true conservative ideals... especially when compared to John "the Maverick" McCain.

So this poll shows that most conservatives want the Republican party to move to the right... not to the left as some would have you believe.

Democrats Message To Young Women... "Forget About It"

After rejecting Hillary Clinton for an inexperienced rookie radical, the Democrat party then set out in cooperation with DNCTV (the news media) to destroy the only other woman in the race.. Governor Sarah Palin, John McCain's VP selection. Disagree with her on the issues and her ideas... fine, but to launch the biggest smear campaign in history is just disgraceful.

The message from Democrats to little girls and young women across this great land is loud and clear.
"Forget about it"

If you are a young woman thinking about entering politics and perhaps even of becoming the first woman president... get ready to be smeared, lied about and dragged through the worst hate you can imagine... (not to mention your family) especially if you happen to be a conservative woman or a woman (OMG) who opposes abortion.

It is sad that the party that calls itself the champion for minorities and women's rights exhibited such hatred and aggression against a woman... a woman that is just like any woman, a mother, a community organizer, a Mayor, a Governor, a good woman, a nice woman... just like you or someone you know.

Democrats should be embarrased and ashamed.

Sarah Palin Fights Anonymous "Cowards"

APNEWS- ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Sarah Palin denounced anonymous criticisms leveled at her by former John McCain aides as lies, including allegations that Republican lawyers were traveling to Alaska to reclaim her high-priced wardrobe and that she didn't know Africa was a continent.

"Those accounts are not true," the former Republican vice presidential candidate said in her first public comments on the matter since the election Tuesday.

Palin returned Friday to her Anchorage governor's office and said she had no immediate plans to build on her newfound national name-recognition and popularity with the Republican base for a possible 2012 presidential run.

Instead, Palin said, she wanted only to get back to the governor's desk to advance a proposed pipeline tapping Alaska's vast North Slope natural gas reserves and to prepare Alaska's proposed 2010 budget.

As for the vice presidential campaign, Palin denounced criticism from unidentified McCain campaign aides as "cowardly." She said she found it frustrating trying to respond to false allegations when she didn't know who was making them.

"It's ridiculous," she told reporters. "You guys report based on anonymous sources, so it's hard to have a defense."

One report said she and her family went on a shopping spree, spending more than the $150,000 in clothing that the Republican National Committee had earlier reported.

"The RNC purchased clothes," Palin said.

"Those are the RNC's clothes. They're not my clothes. I never forced anybody to buy anything. I never asked for anything more than maybe a Diet Dr Pepper once in a while."

The RNC will inventory clothing it purchased for her to account for dollars spent, she said. She scoffed at reports that the RNC was sending lawyers to take back clothes from her home.

"It's not happening. Nobody's told me that they're coming to my house to look through closets, to look through anything. The belly of the plane that had clothes in it, and those clothes being packed up and sent back by staffers, perhaps that's what they're talking about, but these aren't attorneys."

She said she wasn't angry at the continued coverage of her clothing, but mostly disappointed.

"This is Barack Obama's time right now, and this is an historic moment in our nation and this can be a shining moment for America and our history, and look what we're talking about. Again, we're talking about my shoes and belts and skirts. It's ridiculous."

She also denied a report that she didn't know Africa was a continent, not a country, and that she didn't know the members of the North American Free Trade Agreement - the United States, Canada and Mexico. She remembered discussing both Africa and Obama's stance on NAFTA with people preparing her for her debate, she said. Anything reported as a gaffe was taken out of context, she said.

"That's cruel. It's mean-spirited. It's immature. It's unprofessional and those guys are jerks if they came away with it, taking things out of context, and then tried to spread something on national news. It's not fair and it's not right."

Asked if she felt muzzled by her limited time with reporters during the campaign, Palin said the media is a cornerstone of democracy and an important part of the checks and balances on government.

"Heaven forbid that a candidate or an elected official shy way from speaking to the media," she said. "So it was a little bit of a frustration that I didn't get to call more of those shots, and I guess that was sort of the 'rogue' criticism was, 'She wants to talk to more of the media' than perhaps some in the campaign wanted me to."

Palin backed off from calling for the resignation of fellow Alaskan Ted Stevens, the longest-serving Republican in Senate history. Stevens leads Democrat Mark Begich by about 3,500 votes with more than 50,000 to be counted.

A Washington jury convicted Stevens on Oct. 27 of seven felony counts of failing to report more than $250,000 in gifts, mostly renovations on his home. Stevens is appealing the verdict.

"The Alaska voters have spoken and me not being a dictator won't be telling anyone what to do," she said.

Fellow senators have indicated they could boot Stevens.

"That's their baby," Palin said. "They'll have to figure out what to do there."

Palin said she was not interested in running for the job if it comes open.

"Not planning on that. Nope," she said. -end

NOTE: I am wondering if these anonymous smears against Sarah is the work of Democrats or the media... (duh same thing)- red stater.

Independent Women Identify With Sarah Palin

Women and Sarah Palin

by Meryl Yourish.

A word to the men who read this blog: While I don’t claim to speak for all women, I can claim to give you a woman’s point of view on what John McCain choosing Sarah Palin for his vice presidential candidate means to me.

And remember that I voted for Al Gore in 2000. (W. in 2004.)

It tells me that the Republicans believe that a woman can do the job equally as well as a man.

It tells me that John McCain isn’t going to demean the women reporters around him by calling them “Sweetie” and brushing them off.

It tells me that the Republicans think that now is the time for women to step up to the podium they’ve been aiming for for decades.

It tells me that 18 million voters, who were essentially ignored by the Democratic party, are not being ignored by the Republicans.

It tells me that politics are forever changed in America, and love her or hate her, you have Hillary Clinton to thank for the choice of Sarah Palin.

I simply cannot describe to you what a difference the choice of Palin makes for us. I watched the McCain news conference, and as he walked onto the stage, I found myself thinking that this boring old man had managed to make me feel excited about his campaign. And I am someone who intended to vote for him since he was assured the nomination. Two of my closest female friends feel the same way. There is a groundswell of excitement for McCain now, and next week’s convention suddenly got a lot more watchable.

Sarah Palin has made me excited about politics again, so much so that I’m contributing to the McCain campaign. So much so that I’m going to try to get to any and all of her appearances in Virginia. So much so that I can ignore the issues that she and I disagree on—and there are many—because it’s about damned time that women had a shot at the Executive Suite to top all Executive Suites.

American history changed today every bit as much as it changed with Obama’s nomination—but this one means more to me, for obvious reasons.

Obama can go home and grow a little in November. He’s not ready to be president. But Sarah Palin is more than ready to be VP.

And if she and McCain win, four or eight years from now, there could be an all-female presidential race.

Now how cool would that be?

Susie B. is smiling.

Soooo, ...If Palin is dumb, Then what does this make Biden?

2008 Election

Vice Presidential Debate Linguistic Analysis:

Palin at 10th Grade-level; Biden at 8th Grade-level

Austin, Texas, USA. October 3, 2008. The first and only vice presidential debate of the 2008 Campaign has resulted in Governor Sarah Palin, the republican nominee for vice president speaking at a 10th grade level, with Senator Joe Biden coming in at an 8th grade level. Also noteworthy was the fact that Gov. Palin’s use of passive voice was the highest (at 8%) of the 2008 Presidential and Vice Presidential debates thus far. The analysis was performed by The Global Language Monitor (www.LanguageMonitor.com), the Austin, Texas-based media analytics and analysis company.

GLM ranks the candidates’ speech on a number of levels from grade-reading level, the use of the passive voice, ‘a readability’ score (the closer to one hundred the easiest to understand, the number of words per sentence, even the number of characters per word.

The Palin Effect

From The India Times...
The Palin Effect
Shobhaa De

..."Palin turned out to be McCain's secret weapon.
He caught the world (and America) off-guard when he nominated Palin as his running mate. Jaws dropped at the unexpectedness of that move.
Palin sashayed onto centrestage with the ease of a beauty queen (which she once was).
She was savaged by critics (can anyone forget Obama's jibe about lipstick on a pig?) who tore into her lack of experience in matters that went beyond shooting moose in her native Alaska.
Her world view was mocked (Palin only got a passport last year), and it didn't help matters that Palin's teenage daughter got pregnant.

Since those awkward early days when Americans refused to look beyond her trendy 'peep toe' sandals, or comment on her stylish glasses, Palin has surprised voters by her bluster, if nothing else. Her current favourite word is 'exceptional'.
Palin finds everything 'exceptional', when it comes to America and Americans. Suddenly her worst critics are beginning to say, maybe she has found the key. The lost key to millions of hearts. Americans need to feel 'exceptional' now more than ever before. It is a demoralised nation reeling under the spectre of an economic depression. Regardless of what American spin doctors are saying, the psychological damage done to the collective identity is there for all to see. Americans are feeling vulnerable. They need a booster shot. And that shot comes neatly packaged as Sarah Palin."

The Rise of Sarah Palin

Thanks TO Michael Bates at BatesLine...
| | Comments (1) | TrackBacks (0)

Via Mister Snitch, I came across this detailed, link-heavy blog post about Sarah Palin's political career, beginning with her first race for City Council in 1992, and including her 2004 decision to quit a plum $118,000 a year seat on the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission after the Attorney General and Governor not only ignored her concerns about corruption on the AOGCC, but also, in the case of the AG, threatened her with prosecution if she blew the whistle:

Why do I mention Palin's apolitical roots? Because they help explain three things about her that become important later. One, how she's been able to stay grounded to have a normal, non-political person's reactions to the kinds of things politicians get inured to seeing. Two, why her views on reform, corruption and waste were not a pre-designed program but the evolving product of those reactions kicking in over time in response to things she observed first-hand. And three, how she was able to make the most important decision of her political career - to walk away from it all on principle with the significant chance that she was ending her career in politics.

Sarah "cuda" Palin Wins VP Debate over Joe Biden!

Even democrat strategist Kirsten Powers and liberal pundit Mort Kondracki gave the debate to Sarah Palin. Kondracki said... "She connected with the average American while Joe Biden talked in Senate-speak".
Powers said... "Biden didn't commit any major gaffe's, but she (Palin) got the better of it."

A Frank Luntz focus group comprised of independents half of whom voted for John Kerry in 2004, also overwhelmingly said Palin won the debate. While a dozen or more said Palin changed their minds and they now support McCain, only one person in the group said he changed his mind in support of Obama.

Frank Luntz went on to say that polls in the next 48 hours are going to change reflecting just how well Palin did. Luntz is an expert on such matters.

Also in the next 48 hours we will see just how many times Joe Biden either lied or was just plain wrong.

The Huffington Post has this...
"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, stunned observers by clearly winning her debate with Senator Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee."

Some liberals (democrat operatives) are still in denial however (of course) reciting democrat talking points while claiming Palin didn't win.

Transcript of debate

UPDATE: Shocking NEWS!
The Democrat controlled liberal left-wing media is desperately spinning the debate for Biden (Obama). Biden played fast and loose with the "facts" in last nights debate and (of course) isn't being held accountable for any of it.

Thanks to Ace of Spades HQ for...

JOE BIDEN’S 14 LIES IN DEBATE TONIGHT

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people's health insurance coverage -- they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false. McCain's only reference to "de-regulation of the heath industry" is his support to allow us to buy insurance across state lines- period.

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska -- she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it's not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation -- he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won't pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan (28%). In fact, taxes under Obama will be at 39.5% similar to the Clinton years.
