Mitt Romney Says To Give GM Back to Taxpayers (You and Me)

Drudge Report

Washington -- The Obama administration and the United Auto Workers should immediately distribute their stock in a restructured GM to American taxpayers, former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Sunday.

"We don't want a president and the head of the UAW running General Motors," Romney, a Michigan native and son of former Gov. George Romney, said in an appearance on "Fox News Sunday."

Romney suggested that the roughly 70 percent of GM that the government could own after it emerges from bankruptcy should be immediately distributed to taxpayers, and the 17.5 percent that will go to a UAW trust fund for retiree healthcare should be handed out to UAW members.

"I'm a son of Detroit. My dad was an auto executive," Romney said. "I drive American cars, I love American cars. My heart bleeds for the people in Michigan, in Detroit, for all those auto workers."

"This is a very sad circumstance for this country, and it represents bad decisions by management, overreaching by the UAW. It's really tragic in a lot of ways, and it has not been well-played either in my opinion by the Bush administration or the Obama administration."

The Election Journal Reports Black Panther Represented Democrat(ic) Party

BREAKING: Official Document says Black Panther was “representing the Democratic Party”

Yesterday, Curt posted on this highly racial statement by the Black Panthers at a Philly voting location: "You're gonna' be ruled by the Black Man" (caught on security video)

Now we learn it was the "Democrat Security Patrol"

Here we have racially charged statements by armed black panthers who happen to work for the Dem party in Philly.
No surprise Obama, Holder & the DOJ spiked the charges against the three black panthers."

Poking Fun at My Side...

And just to be fair and show I can poke fun at my side... (jokes from democrat underground)

Two guys are sitting around talking about politics.

One of them asks the other, "So why are you a Democrat?"

"Because my daddy and granddaddy were Democrats," was the man's reply.

"What if your daddy and granddaddy were horse thieves?"

"In that case, I guess I'd be a Republican."

Ba-da-ching!

Republicans will save the rainforest - if you tell them that’s where the golf ball trees are!

Ba-cha-ching

Two wealthy Repubs are sitting in a restaurant, one of them being the owner.

The owner turns to his guest and says, "See? I'm doing my part to help the economy, I just opened up three new jobs in my restaurant."

Just as the two get finished toasting each other's success, the busboy comes by to clear off their dishes and says, "I know, I have all three of them."

...Cha-cha chingah!

This little old lady calls 911. When the operator answers she yells, "Help, send the police to my house right away! There's a damn Democrat on my front porch and he's playing with himself."

"What?" the operator exclaimed. "I said there is a damn Democrat on my front porch playing with himself and he's weird; I don't know him and I'm afraid! Please send the police!" the little old lady repeated.

"Well, now, how do you know he's a Democrat?"

"Because, you damn fool, if it was a Republican, he'd be screwing somebody!"

New Environmental Fear: Earth "Spinning Out of Control"

From The Daily Tongue Incheek News- Eco-Enquirer
Recent weather events and other natural disasters have many environmentalists fearful that the Earth itself has reached a "tipping point".

(New Brunswick, New Jersey) With the recent onslaught of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and even tsunamis, some prominent environmentalists are expressing fears that the Earth itself has reached a "tipping point".

"One only need look at pictures of the Earth from outer space to realize that our home planet is very vulnerable. Like a wobbling, spinning top we are just hurtling through space, uncontrolled, dangling out there in the cold, unforgiving void", said Ward F. Kennedy II, professor of Environmental Destruction at Rutgers University.

A recent Gallup poll of environmental concerns has suggested that public angst over environmental problems is not nearly high enough. As a result, Time and Vanity Fair magazines have recently carried cover stories that are hoped to whip up enough of a grassroots frenzy for the U.S. government to finally do something about the problem.

One of the Time reporters covering the stories told ecoEnquirer, "As we researched the issues -- from the Inuit's' snowmobiles falling through the ice, to ecosystems having to adjust to a 1 degree rise in global temperatures in the last 100 years -- we became increasingly despondent over humanity's callous treatment of Mother Nature", reported Rachel Carlson.

"We consider it our duty to mold public opinion on this subject with carefully screened information…and if we get a Pulitzer Prize in the process, well, so be it."

Greenpolice spokesperson Rainbow Treetower agreed, saying, "We are pleased with the principled stand the media has taken on this issue. If the scientists are not willing to carry the banner to save Mother Earth, then journalists need to step in to do what we all know needs to be done."

Leftist Enviro-Wacko Quotes

John Hawkins put together this outstanding list of "quotes" from Liberal Lefty Enviro-wacko's. Remember these are the same people that call the rest of us extremists and anti-environment.

You may not believe just how radical and extreme these people really are.

The first group of quotes is titled...
(From RWN)-

Attack Of The Socialist-Luddites

"The right to have children should be a marketable commodity, bought and traded by individuals but absolutely limited by the state." - Kenneth Boulding, originator of the "Spaceship Earth" concept (as quoted by William Tucker in Progress and Privilege, 1982)

"We have wished, we eco-freaks, for a disaster or for a social change to come and bomb us into Stone Age, where we might live like Indians in our valley, with our localism, our appropriate technology, our gardens, our homemade religion -- guilt-free at last!" -- Stewart Brand (writing in the Whole Earth Catalogue

"Free Enterprise really means rich people get richer. They have the freedom to exploit and psychologically rape their fellow human beings in the process . . . Capitalism is destroying the earth." -- Helen Caldicott, Union of Concerned Scientists

"We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for capitalists and their projects . . . We must reclaim the roads and plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres of presently settled land."-- David Foreman, Earth First!

"Everything we have developed over the last 100 years should be destroyed." -- Pentti Linkola

If you ask me, it'd be a little short of disastrous for us to discover a source of clean, cheap, abundant energy because of what we would do with it. We ought to be looking for energy sources that are adequate for our needs, but that won't give us the excesses of concentrated energy with which we could do mischief to the earth or to each other. -- Amory Lovins in The Mother Earth - Plowboy Interview, Nov/Dec 1977, p. 22

The only real good technology is no technology at all. Technology is taxation without representation, imposed by our elitist species (man) upon the rest of the natural world -- John Shuttleworth

What we've got to do in energy conservation is try to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, to have approached global warming as if it is real means energy conservation, so we will be doing the right thing anyway in terms of economic policy and environmental policy. -- Timothy Wirth, former U.S. Senator (D-Colorado)

Kill 'Em All And Let God Sort 'Em Out

I suspect that eradicating small pox was wrong. It played an important part in balancing ecosystems. -- John Davis, editor of Earth First! Journal

Human beings, as a species, have no more value than slugs. -- John Davis, editor of Earth First! Journal

The extinction of the human species may not only be inevitable but a good thing....This is not to say that the rise of human civilization is insignificant, but there is no way of showing that it will be much help to the world in the long run. -- Economist editorial

We advocate biodiversity for biodiversity’s sake. It may take our extinction to set things straight -- David Foreman, Earth First!

Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth, social and environmental. -- Dave Forman, Founder of Earth First!

If radical environmentalists were to invent a disease to bring human populations back to sanity, it would probably be something like AIDS -- Earth First! Newsletter

Human happiness, and certainly human fecundity, is not as important as a wild and healthy planet...Some of us can only hope for the right virus to come along. -- David Graber, biologist, National Park Service

The collective needs of non-human species must take precedence over the needs and desires of humans. -- Dr. Reed F. Noss, The Wildlands Project

If I were reincarnated, I would wish to be returned to Earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels. -- Prince Phillip, World Wildlife Fund

Cannibalism is a "radical but realistic solution to the problem of overpopulation." -- Lyall Watson, The Financial Times, 15 July 1995

Poverty For 'Those People'

We, in the green movement, aspire to a cultural model in which killing a forest will be considered more contemptible and more criminal than the sale of 6-year-old children to Asian brothels. -- Carl Amery

Every time you turn on an electric light, you are making another brainless baby -- Helen Caldicott, Union of Concerned Scientists

To feed a starving child is to exacerbate the world population problem -- Lamont Cole

If there is going to be electricity, I would like it to be decentralized, small, solar-powered -- Gar Smith -- editor of the Earth Island Institute's online magazine The Edge

The only hope for the world is to make sure there is not another United States: We can't let other countries have the same number of cars, the amount of industrialization, we have in the U.S. We have to stop these Third World countries right where they are. And it is important to the rest of the world to make sure that they don't suffer economically by virtue of our stopping them. -- Michael Oppenheimer, Environmental Defense Fund

Left Wrong Again

The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population. -- Reid Bryson, "Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man", (1971)

The battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s, the world will undergo famines. Hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. Population control is the only answer -- Paul Ehrlich - The Population Bomb (1968)

I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000 -- Paul Ehrlich in (1969)

In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish. -- Paul Ehrlich, Earth Day (1970)

Before 1985, mankind will enter a genuine age of scarcity . . . in which the accessible supplies of many key minerals will be facing depletion -- Paul Ehrlich in (1976)

This [cooling] trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century -- Peter Gwynne, Newsweek 1976

There are ominous signs that the earth's weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production - with serious political implications for just about every nation on earth. The drop in food production could begin quite soon... The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologist are hard-pressed to keep up with it. -- Newsweek, April 28, (1975)

This cooling has already killed hundreds of thousands of people. If it continues and no strong action is taken, it will cause world famine, world chaos and world war, and this could all come about before the year 2000. -- Lowell Ponte "The Cooling", 1976

If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000...This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age. -- Kenneth E.F. Watt on air pollution and global cooling, Earth Day (1970)

Obama To Have "The Death Of Israel" on His Hands

3 quick quotes from Dick Morris.com on Obama's abandonment of Israel and support for the enemies of America-

"In classic Stockholm Syndrome fashion, the Obama administration is empathizing more with the Iranian leaders who are holding Israel hostage than with the nation that may be wiped off the map if Iran acquires the bomb." -Dick Morris

…we have learned that the [Obama] administration has made its peace with Iran’s nuclear aspirations. Senior administration officials acknowledge as much in off-record briefings. It is true, they say, that Iran may exploit its future talks with the US to run down the clock before they test a nuclear weapon. But, they add, if that happens, the US will simply have to live with a nuclear-armed mullocracy.” - Caroline Glick Deputy Editor and Op-Ed writer for the Jerusalem Post.

"One thing is increasingly clear: Barack Obama is not about to lift a finger to stop Iran from developing the bomb. And neither is Hillary Clinton." -Dick Morris

Colin Powell Calling For "Democrat-Lite" Republicans

Colin Powell's attempt to tell the Republican party and conservatives what to do is kinda like Zel Miller attempting to tell the Democrat party what to do except General Powell wants Republicans to become "Democrat-lite" and Zel Miller just wanted his old party back from the socialists.

Memo to General Powell:

Republicans already tried to be "Democrat-Lite" by choosing "Maverick" John McCain as Presidential nominee last fall.
You voted for Obama anyway.

I hate to break it to you, but you are a Democrat now sir, own it... feel it, be the ball.
Smell the fascism in the air sir?

Our Environment is actually getting BETTER, not Worse

Environmental quality continues to improve dramatically in the United States, according to the Index of Leading Environmental Indicators 2002, released today by the San Francisco-based Pacific Research Institute (PRI). Authors Steven Hayward and Julie Majeres show that environmental quality has been improving since the first Earth Day 32 years ago, despite the public perception that it is getting worse.

Environmental scare-mongering harms environmental policy because it detracts from constructive, science-based policy,” said the authors. “With all of the information that's available online, citizens don't have to take anyone's word for it, they can check it out for themselves.”

The study uses government data to examine long-term air and water quality trends, toxic chemicals and land use, as well as biodiversity issues. The authors take an in-depth look at the evolution of the environmental debate and provide extensive web-based resources.

On Earth Day, April 22, the Institute launched a new environmental section on its website with local data for all 50 states and an exhaustive guide to online environmental resources www.pacificresearch.org/press/index.html).

The following is a top-10 list of positive environmental trends based on the report:

  1. Air quality is improving and is going to continue to improve. Many news stories give the impression that air quality is worsening, and that health problems from air pollution are on the rise. However, since 1970, aggregate emissions of the six “criteria” pollutants regulated under the Clean Air Acts have declined 29 percent, at the same time that the US economy grew 150 percent, auto travel increased by 143 percent, and total US energy consumption (the primary source of air pollution emissions) increased 45 percent. Air quality will continue to improve because of technology, turnover of the auto fleet to lower-polluting engines, and new regulations of public utilities.

  2. The United States is not running out of energy. Volatile gasoline prices and California's blackouts have led many to think we are entering a new era of energy shortages. The truth is that the inflation-adjusted price of gasoline, even with the turmoil in the Middle East pushing up oil prices, is near an all-time low. Other energy supplies (coal and natural gas especially) remain abundant.

  3. Humans are not facing increasing risks from toxic chemicals. The total amount of toxic chemicals used in the US economy is declining. New CDC studies suggest that human exposure to toxic heavy metals is far below the thresholds for health risk. According to the EPA's Toxic Releases Inventory, toxic releases have declined 48.5 percent since 1988. And while further study is needed, there does not appear to be an imminent threat from “bioaccumulative” chemicals. Residues of DDT in human tissues have fallen 80 percent in the last generation.

  4. Economic growth is good for the environment. In the 1970s, many leading environmentalists argued that economic growth was incompatible with a healthy environment. But international data show that the nations with the most robust economies have the best record of environmental protection. Today, a growing number of environmentalists are acknowledging that economic growth is the main prerequisite for an improving environment.

  5. The United States is not running out of farmland or open space. The rapid growth of American metro areas in recent decades has fueled the understandable perception that we are “running out of land.” New methods of analyzing satellite imagery have revealed that most of the statistics on land cover in the United States are turning out to be wrong by a high order of magnitude. How cities should grow is an important issue, but choices should be made based on accurate information.

  6. Water quality is improving. Water quality is measured very poorly and inconsistently in the United States, but several measures indicate substantial improvement. Wetlands loss has virtually ended, for example. The next generation of water quality improvement, reducing runoff from farms and the paved surfaces of our cities will be a major challenge.

  7. We're going to get better at protecting species and habitat. The threat of species extinction through loss of habitat is the single most important environmental problem facing the United States and the world. However, our knowledge of species, habitat protection strategies, and creative initiatives to preserve habitat are growing at a rapid rate. Effort should be made to preserve “hotspots” in tropical forests that are especially rich in biodiversity. The top 25 such areas compose just 1.4 percent of the Earth's land area, but contain perhaps as much as 70 percent of plants and animal species. One of the foremost biodiversity experts, biologist Edward O. Wilson, estimates that preserving this area could cost as little as $30 billion. To put this into perspective, the US private sector spends $100 billion annually complying with environmental regulations.

  8. Environmental issues aren't just for experts anymore. Many citizens think environmental issues are too complicated to understand, or that accurate information is hard to obtain. Now there is an abundance of user-friendly government information available on the Internet. Much of it is highly localized, offering powerful tools to empower citizens to “check it out” for themselves, and to be proactive in improving the environment in their town or region.

  9. The most important new environmental initiatives are taking place on the local level and through private action. Environmental discourse tends to give the impression that unless the federal government acts, the environment won't be effectively protected. But scholars are calling “civic environmentalism” the newest trend in environmental improvement: citizens banding together without lawsuits or government mandates to clean up rivers, protect and restore habitat, and preserve species.

  10. Environmental improvement in the United States is perhaps the greatest public-policy success story of the last generation. While most people point to public policy successes such as the drop in the crime rate and welfare dependency over the last decade, the magnitude of improvement in the environment over the last generation is much larger. A proper perspective on real trends will set priorities for the next generation.

Liz Cheney Conducts Clinic on the Destruction of Liberal Arguments

From the Institute of Conservative Thought...

Liz Cheney Puts on a Clinic....

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell (frothing at the mouth about waterboarding)...
"It is torture. This government's prosecuted people in the past for doing exactly this, but Dick Cheney believes it's not torture and that's essential to his position. If it was effective, why didn't they use it on the 500 people that Bush-Cheney released from Guantanamo, 75 of whom we know now have gone back into the terrorism business. That was a failure of the Bush-Cheney administration to keep America safe by processing people correctly at Guantanamo. Is that accurate?"

LIZ CHENEY: Let me go through all of the inaccuracies in what you've just said. First of all the question of whether or not enhanced interrogation is "torture" has been answered and it's been answered legally and it's not that Cheney or President Bush or anybody else "believed" it to be torture. The justice department of the United States --
O'DONNELL: (interrupting)
LIZ: Lawrence, I let you go.
O'DONNELL: Are you afraid of waterboarding, Liz?
LIZ: No. Waterboarding is not torture.

O'DONNELL: (pompous laugh)

LIZ: You know what, though? I would refer you to Attorney General Holder's testimony --

O'DONNELL: Why has this country prosecuted people for waterboarding?
LIZ: Lawrence?
O'DONNELL: Why did we do that?
LIZ: Because they did a number of other things in addition to waterboarding. Attorney General Holder had a hard time explaining exactly what the legal definition is of waterboarding that would make it torture. We've done it to our own people. Secondly, your argument about why didn't we do it to 500 other people proves our point. It was used in three cases when we had terrorists who had information about potential attacks on the United States of America. So the notion that somehow, you know, we should have waterboarded everybody? I'm surprised that that's a position you've taken.

Let's move on to MSNBC to Scarborough's show today, and they have a discussion of "torture." This was Liz Cheney with CNBC's Donny Deutsch, who came to broadcasting from the world of advertising. And Donny Deutsch, in typical uninformed, ignorant liberal arrogance, says, "Either your dad's lying or the president's lying. Who's lying?"
LIZ: Well, the president could, you know, resolve this this morning and --
DEUTSCH: No! No! No! No! But he came out and he said, "I have looked at those intelligence reports."

LIZ: Well, I think actually what he said was I've seen "the" intelligence reports. So it's not clear to me he was actually referring to the same things my dad was but -- DEUTSCH: Don't you think at this point --
LIZ: -- let me finish the answer on this, Donny.
DEUTSCH: -- he would have seen...?

LIZ: No, no.
DEUTSCH: This is a critical report!
LIZ: I'm sure --
DEUTSCH: He would have seen one way or the other?

LIZ: I'm sure he has at this point.
DEUTSCH: Yeah!
LIZ: If you release the memos, then you and I don't have to have this argument about who's telling the truth. We could all look at it for ourselves, and that's where I think, you know, the administration's got a real problem. Because they haven't been able to explain to the American people why they're willing to release information that talks about how people were interrogated without putting out the information that shows what we gained from those interrogations.
Two more.
Last night on Anderson Cooper 180, he said, "There are techniques which have been around. The Nazis used them, the Khmer Rouge used them, the North Koreans used them. So it's not as if terrorists were unfamiliar with these techniques. If they wanted to train for them -- and I'm not sure you really can train for torture or enhanced interrogation..."

LIZ: "I would question the premise here. The legal memos are very clear, and this was a very carefully designed program, and it was a program that the CIA designed, that they had the lawyers look at to make sure that the line that divided sort of rough treatment from torture wouldn't be crossed. What the president has done is ensure that no future president can use any of these techniques. So that's a big step, and that's a step that I think really does endanger the country -- and, frankly, if the president himself in the future is faced with a ticking time bomb scenario, it's not clear to me, you know, what exactly he will do even these reserved to himself the light to take action like these."
Anderson Cooper: "More than 100 people are known to have died in US custody, some that were ruled a homicide. If these were tightly controlled things, how come so many people are murdered in US custody?"
LIZ: Anderson, I think that your question is highly irresponsible.
COOPER: Why?

LIZ: Because you are contemplating things that aren't conflated. When somebody dies or is "murdered" in US custody then we are a great nation and we take the people who are responsible and we put them on trial as you've seen happen throughout the last eight years. That is not the enhanced interrogation program, and to somehow suggest that those two things are the same I think willfully conflates something and ends up in a situation where we aren't able to take a truthful look at the last eight years as we go forward, because we are muddying the waters about what really happened.

The Goode Family Pokes Fun At the Left

In my opinion, nothing will probably ever come close to South Park in terms of their ability to make fun of the left while making fun of the right, but creators of the new show The Goode Family, a new animated series debuting tonight on ABC, lets 'King of the Hill' Creator Mike Judge tweak the polar opposites of his other creation, the Hills.

The Goodes care so very, very much about everything. The environment. Recycling. Veganism. Al Gore....

They drive a hybrid car, own a vegan dog named Che, have an adopted white son from South Africa and own bumper stickers which say, “Support our troops and their opponents.”

I watched the first episode the other night and it was "just alright for me dog".

Kinda forced and stiff, it still had some good lines and funny moments however. Anything to offset Comedy Central's one-sided comedy is a relief and the Goode Family look to provide some of that much needed relief.

U.S. Embassy to hold First-Ever Gay Pride Party Tonight... In Iraq

From RWN....

In the short time that President Obama has been in office, there have been many breaches of foreign protocol such as an overt familiarity with the British Queen and bowing to the Saudi King. But the most significant indiscretion will occur tonight as homosexuality is promoted in our embassy in a foreign land--in Baghdad, Iraq, no less.

In the May 22, 2009 edition of The Washington Post, columnist Al Kamen wrote a piece entitled, "For One Night, Baghdad Gets a Pink Zone." He revealed that the State Department is "holding what the invitation says is the first-ever U.S. Embassy Gay Pride Theme Party next Friday at Bagdaddy's, which is the embassy employee association's pub."

The invitation, which was sent out on May 10, encouraged everyone to, "Dress in drag or as a gay icon."

The ideas of tolerance, diversity, and understanding are frequently touted by President Obama and his allies on the left. They have claimed that these attributes were lacking during the Bush years, specifically regarding Middle Eastern policy. However, by allowing a gay pride party to be sanctioned by the government the current administration is not showing any tolerance or understanding of the Middle Eastern culture and religion.

Best quotes...

"The homosexual agenda has transformed from desiring equal treatment under the law to demanding state sanctioning of their chosen lifestyle."
And...
"More offensive than our men in arms in an Islamic country are men in drag, as this strikes at the very core of propriety and decency within their culture."
FULL STORY

And the left loves to carry on about how George Bush damaged relations with the rest of the world and how Obama was going to fix it.
Not so much.

The "Anti-Environment Crowd" ?

When I was young growing up on 15 acres near Choctaw, the dirt road by our house was a popular place for dumping stuff. People came out to the country to dump apparently anything they couldn't fit in the garbage. We rescued dogs, cats and cleaned up trash along a couple miles of Henny Road. My dad would stop the pickup whenever he saw a new trash pile and we would load it into the back of the truck... dad would take the time to look through it sometimes for a name and address of who did the dumping and turned it in to the sherrif.

When we go camping, the rule is to "leave the camp cleaner than you found it".

I buy fishing licenses and hunting licenses regularly but only go fishing once or twice a year and hunting less than that... I figure it's okay since the money goes to wildlife conservation.

Having moved to Colorado and lived for a number of years in the mid 1970's, littering is a big no-no in this state and I learned not to even throw out a single gum wrapper or cigar butt a long time ago.

I plant trees... we have several hundred full grown pine trees on our property now that I planted when I was a teen.

When it was learned that paper bags were bad at the grocery store, I always asked for plastic... until we learned plastic is worse, now I use paper... from recycled material.

I save my aluminum pop cans and once took in over $90.00 worth at one time.

I believe that when coal companies mine coal that they revegetate the area back after the process, when oil companies drill they must take care to have as little impact as possible... but I do believe they should drill. It has been shown that it CAN and is being done with very little impact.

I care about the environment, the birds, trees, critters, humans... the whole deal. Everyone I know and hang out with is the same way.

But... it seems that to according to some, I may be part of some big "anti-environment crowd"... whatever or whoever that is.

I personally have never met anyone who was "anti-environment" nor have I heard of such people before.

Yes, I admit I've gone pee-pee behind the tree, but the tree lived.

But whoever they are, they are allegedly using the environment to "grab power" away from those on the left who are busy grabbing power via the global warming hoax.

And I thought I was just an innocent rightwing, woman hating, knuckledragging warmonger picking up trash and stuff.....

Health Care Fixed as easy as 1-2-3

The Red Stater Health Care Plan-

1- Let everyone buy health insurance across state lines (drastically reducing rates) and encourage companies to provide group coverage rates to individuals.
2- Give everyone a "healthcare tax cut/refund" covering the majority of their healthcare insurance costs.
3- Problem solved.

There... that wasn't so tough, now was it?

Now is the Time to Defeat 'Obama-Care'... According to Obama

Breitbart-
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama warned Thursday that if Congress doesn't deliver health care legislation by the end of the year, the opportunity will be lost, a plea to political supporters to pressure lawmakers to act. "If we don't get it done this year, we're not going to get it done," Obama told supporters by phone as he flew home on Air Force One from a West Coast fundraising trip.

Call or write your congressman or congresswoman and let them know you oppose nationalized health-care and NOW IS THE TIME TO STOP IT... according to the President.

President's 'Pay To Play' Policy Paying Partisan Politicians with Prime Posts

So, how much for the 'Court of St. James' job please?
Only $1million... really?
I'll take two with a side of Chicago style pay-ola and a kick-back slushy please.

Obama Offers Prime Posts to Top Campaign Contributors

May 29 (Bloomberg) -- Louis Susman has one thing in common with many of his predecessors nominated to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom: $$ money $$.

Susman, 71, a retired Citigroup Inc. senior investment banker, raised between $200,000 and $500,000 for President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign and another $300,000 for his inauguration. On Wednesday, Obama nominated Susman to the post formally known as the Court of St. James.

Like Andrew Mellon, Joseph Kennedy and Walter Annenberg before him, Susman’s credentials stem more from involvement in financing party politics than foreign policy experience.

Yes, You Are A Salesman Too

I thought I would respond to Oklahoma Lefty's post "Sales Mentality vs Tech Mentality" with a few articles which seem to confirm my belief that....

Everyone's A Salesperson
(By Brian Tracy)
"Sometimes I ask my seminar attendees, “How many people here are in sales?” It’s interesting to watch how people respond to that question. There are always a few people who will raise a hand at first, and then another hand goes up, and then another, and soon perhaps half the people in the room have a hand up, even though they may be in fields such as management, administration, finance and accounting.

I then smile and ask again, “Now, how many people here are really in sales?”
At this point, virtually every person in the room has raised a hand. We all smile at the realization that each of us is in the business of selling every single day.

From the time you get up in the morning until the time you go to bed at night, you are negotiating, communicating, persuading, and influencing - trying to get people to cooperate with you to accomplish the things that you want them to accomplish.

So the pivotal question with regard to selling is not if you are doing it, but if you are good at it.

All top executives are excellent salespeople.
All effective parents are wonderful salespeople.
All effective employees use sales techniques to get their coworkers and bosses to go along with them and to cooperate with them in getting the job done.
Everyone who is effective in virtually any are of life that involves other people is an excellent salesperson of some kind.

Salespeople are the movers and shakers in every business and industry. They are the key people who create the demand for all the products and services that keep everyone employed at every other occupation.

EVERYONE IS A SALESMAN
"Everyone is a salesman. It’s just a matter of what you’re trying to sell.

Whether it involves a physical product, a service, or even a concept, everyone is selling something. It may not even be a conscious action, but in just about every time there’s more than one person is involved in some sort of interaction, there’s a certain amount of persuasion and influence taking place.

If you are able to keep that concept in the back of your mind, it will open your eyes to an entirely different world of communication and personal interaction."

"You are a Salesman/Saleswoman when you go for a job interview.
You are a Salesman when you try to meet a romantic partner
You are a Salesman when you try and get your project accepted.
So you are always a Salesman for yourself and you should always take every opportunity to improve your Sales Skills."

In SPORTS, Everyone is a Salesman

(From Sports Info Business) "Many of the students I mentor at the Long Beach State Sports Management program insist that when they begin their sports career, it will not involve sales. I always let these student declarations hang in their air for a moment. I find it funny because they do not yet realize that everyone within a team administration or a front office is part of a sales effort whether they realize it or not. Let me show you an example and then I will illustrate more specifically with relative job descriptions."

Reason #4 Sonia Sotomayor Should NOT Be Confirmed to Supreme Court

Reason #4-

(World Net Daily) Sonia Sotomayor 'La Raza Member'
American Bar Assn lists Obama choice as member of group

"As President Obama's Supreme Court nominee comes under heavy fire for allegedly being a "racist," Judge Sonia Sotomayor is listed as a member of the National Council of La Raza, a group that's promoted driver's licenses for illegal aliens, amnesty programs, and no immigration law enforcement by local and state police."

La Raza mission statement:

"Partido Nacional La Raza Unida (PNLRU) supports a revolutionary alternative that will change current power structures, realize economic democracy and foster spiritual and cultural growth. Re-education of Raza, control of our communities and a commitment to our families are essential to our self-determination."

Reason #3 Sonia Sotomayor Should NOT Be Confirmed to Supreme Court

Reason #1- Sotomayor's racist/sexist remarks that sex and skin color determines ones ability to come to "better conclusions".

Reason #2- Sotomayor's remarks on camera that the circuit court should "make policy".

Reason #3- Sotomayor's opinion that "the right to possess a gun is clearly not a fundamental right".

Fox News- Judge Sonia Sotomayor could walk into a firestorm on Capitol Hill over her stance on gun rights, with conservatives beginning to question some controversial positions she's taken over the past several years on the Second Amendment.

Earlier this year, President Obama's Supreme Court nominee joined an opinion with the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that Second Amendment rights do not apply to the states.

A 2004 opinion she joined also cited as precedent that "the right to possess a gun is clearly not a fundamental right."

Ken Blackwell, a senior fellow with the Family Research Council, called Obama's nomination a "declaration of war against America's gun owners."

Displaying American Flag "Offensive", Burning it or Spitting on it "Not Offensive"

Mansfield TX- CBS- A woman was asked to take down an American flag she had brought to her office celebrating Memorial Day because it was "offensive".

When Debbie McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. "I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'" McLucas said.

McLucas' husband and sons are former military men. Her daughter is currently serving in Iraq as a combat medic.

Stifling a cry, McLucas said, "I just wonder if all those young men and women over there are really doing this for nothing."

Apparently in America today it's perfectly fine to throw it on the ground, burn it, desecrate it or spit on the American flag but proudly displaying it is "offensive".

Click HERE for the CBS 11 News interview with Debbie McLucas.

UPDATE 5/28/09 !!!!

Thanks to Mike McCarville at TMR.COM

"After a thorough roasting in the blogosphere, Kindred officials decided to let hospital supervisor Debbie McLucas put an American flag back on her office wall."

"We have invited the employee (McLucas) to put the flag back up,"

Very Serious Question About Judicial Nominees

If you consider yourself "fair and balanced", non-partisan, objective then consider this.

Should a judicial nominee who believes that a person of a particular skin color and upbringing will reach a better (or worse) conclusion than a person of another skin color be disqualified based on that fact... any judge, much less the Supreme Court?

Of course, that is a extremely radical position which goes against everything this country stands for and was founded on.
Skin color and ethnicity have nothing to do with reaching conclusions... we're long past that.

Well then, shouldn't Sonia Sotomayer's statement from a speech (regarding Latino Supreme Court nominees) that "a Latino woman with her life experiences will reach a better conclusion than a white male" exclude her from sitting on the Supreme Court?
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." -Sonia Sotomayor
Without being partisan I say yes it does disqualify her or anyone for that matter who made such an outrageous and radical statement.

Imagine Justice Roberts had written in a speech regarding Supreme Court nominees that he would hope that a white male with the richness of his life experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latino woman who hasn't had that life.

He would have been forced to apologize and withdraw and ridden out of town on a rail.

So then should Sonia Sotomayor.

Sorry, but if we approve judges that believe skin color and reasoning ability are linked then we are in serious trouble boys and girls.

SAY NO TO SONIA SOTOMAYOR... write or call your senator today... this cannot stand.

Sonia Sotomayor Socialist or Bait?

Oklahomily Dave Scores Again...

The question is not whether Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor has socialist leanings.

The question is more interesting than that.

Does the White House not realize that posting her 1976 Princeton yearbook photo includes her tribute to Norman Thomas, the perennial candidate of the Socialist Party, or does the White House simply not care?

Or are they trying to create a firestorm over a 33-year-old yearbook entry in order to make the right look mean spirited?

Others weigh in on this HERE, and HERE and HERE.

If you'd like to read more about the late Norman Thomas, this is illuminative.

One of the quotes of Mr. Thomas:

“The difference between Democrats and Republicans is: Democrats have accepted some ideas of Socialism cheerfully, while Republicans have accepted them reluctantly."

N Korea Threatens Attack, Obama Threatens... Finger Wag?

Update on "Pop Quiz Mr President" post.

North Korea Threatens to Attack U.S. & S. Korea Warships
May 27, 2009

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea threatened military action Wednesday against U.S. and South Korean warships plying the waters near the Koreas' disputed maritime border, raising the specter of a naval clash just days after the regime's underground nuclear test.

Pyongyang, reacting angrily to Seoul's decision to join an international program to intercept ships suspected of aiding nuclear proliferation, called the move tantamount to a declaration of war.

"Now that the South Korean puppets were so ridiculous as to join in the said racket and dare declare a war against compatriots," North Korea is "compelled to take a decisive measure," the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said in a statement carried by state media.

The North Korean army called it a violation of the armistice the two Koreas signed in 1953 to end their three-year war, and said it would no longer honor the treaty.

South Korea's military said Wednesday it was prepared to "respond sternly" to any North Korean provocation.

North Korea's latest belligerence comes as the U.N. Security Council debates how to punish the regime for testing a nuclear bomb Monday in what President Barack Obama called a "blatant violation" of international law.

Obama: Reality vs Campaign Promises

WASHINGTONThe Pentagon is prepared to leave fighting forces in Iraq for as long as a decade despite an agreement between the United States and Iraq that would bring all American troops home by 2012, the top U.S. Army officer said Tuesday.

"We're going to have 10 Army and Marine units deployed for a decade in Iraq and Afghanistan." -General George Casey, Army Chief of Staff

Yet Defense Secretary Robert Gates has repeated the Obama campaign mantra... "Under the Status of Forces Agreement with the Iraqi government, I intend to remove all U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of 2011,"

General Casey also said the U.S. had to be careful about what assets get deployed to Afghanistan. "Anything you put in there would be in there for a decade," he said.

As Army chief of staff, Casey is primarily responsible for assembling the manpower and determining assignments. He insisted the Army's 1.1-million size was sufficient even to handle the extended Mideast conflicts.

Two America's?

Do you define a person more by their mistakes and failures or by their achievements and successes?

Do you define America more by her mistakes and failures or by her achievements and successes?

I know those who live in that gray area will want to answer with "both"... but that is really intellectually dishonest isn't it?
Besides... I said "more" instead of "totally" to cover that.... there is no gray area.

I submit this is one of the major differences between conservatives and liberal-leftists... between Republicans and Democrats if you will.

Conservatives on the right recognizes America has made mistakes and had failures but defines America by it's achievements, success and ability to overcome all of those mistakes and failures.

Those on the left literally define America by it's mistakes and failures and recognize some achievements and successes (when it suits them politically) but believe we have not overcome mistakes and failures.

The above is according to me of course... what say you?

Why Liberals Hate Christians

Liberals in America despise Christians of true faith.

By Kevin McCullough at TownHall.com

"They do this because in doing so their own guilt is appeased, their anger is justified, and they can finally lay blame for their own misery at someone else's feet."

Last night Alexandra Pelosi's newest documentary, "Friends of God" aired on HBO. In that Alexandra is the daughter of the nation's first feminist, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi it was all too easy to pre-judge where Alexandra's work would land. An expose to uncover the hidden secrets of evangelicals in America , produced by the leftist daughter of the most prominent liberal feminist in America - hmm what would she say?"

Full Article by Kevin McCullough

Here is another piece which gets right to the nuts and bolts...

Top Ten Reasons Liberals Hate Christians

1) Liberals are relativists and hate Christians because Christians believe in absolute truth.
2) Liberals do not want anyone to say that immorality is immoral.
3) Liberals are selfish and are more interested in their "feelings" then they are with what is right for others.
4) Liberals misunderstand what Christians really believe.
5) Since liberals see themselves as the superior enlighten ones they do not recognize that taking a position against their position is not automatically hate.
6) Liberals do not want to listen to what makes sense, they would rather listen to their senses.
7) Liberals ignore the clear evidence of the result of their philosophical positions influence on the last 40 years. It had been a social disaster and they do not want to hear it.
8) They see Christians as intellectually inferior.
9) Liberals see Christians as wanting to impose their religion on them when in truth it is the liberals who have used the courts system to impose their secular humanism religion on all of us.
10) Liberals are spiritually lost and blind to the truth of the gospel. Consider the following bible verses:
"But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14
Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father: but he that confesses the Son has the Father also. -1 John 2:22-23

And below is one more brutally-honest take on why liberals hate Christians-
"Liberals Hate Christians"

"Christianity is a hindrance to liberal ideas of progressive social relations. It must be removed. This is a cardinal tenet of liberalism today, and it is clear why there is no desire among the left to promote the Christian faith, why they defend abortion, homosexuality, pre and extramarital sex, and almost every other vile crudity that pervades our country: men must be "free," and Christianity is the greatest obstacle to that freedom and does all sorts of evil to prevent people from being "free" In the liberal mind, "freedom" equals "progress," so, Christianity must be eliminated, or at least relegated to a noninfluential role in society's affairs."

Quote of the Year?

Thanks to Dave at Oklahomily blog...

"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people." - Opinion piece from Pravda (Russian for "Truth")

The author of the piece lays out an interesting take on what's happening in America.

"First the population was dumbed down...

Then their faith in God was destroyed...

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive."

He concludes..

"The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker."

Uhhh... Pop Quiz Mr President

October 2008:
Mark my words,” Joe Biden told a group of wealthy contributors. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like it did John Kennedy.” A moment later Biden added, “Watch, we're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
...“I guarantee you,” Biden said, “it's going to happen. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate."

May 25, 2009-
Wall Street Journal: "North Korea's test of a second nuclear device Monday didn't surprise readers who saw John Bolton's recent prediction on these pages. But it does once again put in sharp relief the world's failure to counter dictator Kim Jong Il's challenge to global security. If history is any guide, Kim's strategy is to keep escalating until he extorts more money, aid and global recognition. This time in particular he's testing President Obama and his vow to "engage" the world's rogues."

"The stakes here go beyond the ambitions of one nasty regime. North Korea has shown in the past it is willing to sell its missile and other technology around the world, not least to Iran and Syria.
The mullahs in Tehran and other rogues
are carefully watching the response of the new American President as they contemplate the costs of their own WMD ambitions."

May 26 2009-

SEOUL (AFP)After Nuclear Blast, N Korea Fires Missiles:

"North Korea reportedly fired two short-range missiles on Tuesday, in a move set to heighten tensions after its latest nuclear weapons test drew global condemnation.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting to consider the options after Pyongyang's test of a nuclear device on Monday.

The Council called the test a "clear violation" of international law and immediately began working on a resolution that could impose new sanctions on the secretive North, which has now tested two nuclear bombs in three years."

Meanwhile....
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday rejected Obama's proposal for it to "freeze" its nuclear work in return for no new sanctions and ruled out any talks with major powers on the issue.

UPDATE: Tuesday pm- N Korea has now fired a total of 5 (five)... update- make that 6 (six) missiles in the past 24 hrs.

N. Korean President Kim Jong Il was "unavailable for comment".

Meet Sonia Sotomayor "not that smart and kind of a bully on the bench"

President Obama picks an extremist liberal Judge for Supreme Court.
For those who wonder what conservatives mean when we say we oppose judges who legislate from the bench, meet Sonia Sotomayor she is judge, jury, legislature, policy-maker, sexist-racist, bully ... all rolled into one.

Here are just a couple of "gems" that have passed her lips...

"the court of appeals is where policy is made."- Sonia Sotomayor

"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." -Sonia Sotomayor

Jeff Rosen points out other interesting things about Sonia Sotomayor...

"As one former Second Circuit clerk for another judge put it. "She has an inflated opinion of herself, and is domineering during oral arguments, but her questions aren't penetrating and don't get to the heart of the issue." (During one argument, an elderly judicial colleague is said to have leaned over and said, "Will you please stop talking and let them talk?")

"Sotomayor, several former clerks complained, rankled her colleagues by sending long memos that didn't distinguish between substantive and trivial points, with petty editing suggestions--fixing typos and the like--rather than focusing on the core analytical issues."

The most consistent concern was that Sotomayor, although an able lawyer, was "not that smart and kind of a bully on the bench," as one former Second Circuit clerk for another judge put it.

But to be fair... she does have her supporters eager to lower the bar (no pun intended) for her.
Said one former clerk for another judge... "She's a fine Second Circuit judge--maybe not the smartest ever, but how often are Supreme Court nominees the smartest ever?"

Now let's watch the main stream media present her to us as a tough but moderate intellectual and hey she likes baseball.

Obama Still Campaigning.... Even on Memorial Day

From Wordsmith at Flopping Aces Blog.

"I know that there is nothing I will not do to keep our country safe, even as I face no harder decision than sending our men and women to war — and no moment more difficult than writing a letter to the families of the fallen. And that’s why as long as I am President, I will only send our troops into harm’s way when it is absolutely necessary, and I will always provide them with the equipment and support they need to get the job done". (Applause.) - President Barack Hussein Obama, Memorial Day Speech, 2009

Implying that his predecessor (George W Bush) sent troops into harm's way when it wasn't necessary and sent them without the equipment or support needed to get the job done but somehow without noting that in fact he (Obama) personally voted NOT to fund the troops during that war and opposed getting the job done in that war at every opportunity.

What a pathetic loser, I'm sorry... but that's what I think of this worthless piece of human flesh we call our President right now.

Governor Palin Turns Down $28.6 million in Stimulus Money

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday became the only governor to turn down federal stimulus money for energy efficiency.

In announcing the veto of $28.6 million in funds, Palin said she wouldn't accept money tied to adoption of building codes by local governments.

"Alaskans and our communities have a long history of independence and opposing many mandates from Washington, D.C.," Palin said in a statement announcing the veto.

A Memorial Day Thank-You

A sincere thank-you to all those who have served and are serving our country in the military.

Your service and efforts make our world a better place, God-speed to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. May we never forget.

Thanks also to Musings of a Muskogee Politico... for these powerful images.

Link to "America's Arrogance" with apologies to Europe.

And for this quote-
"And now, friends and countrymen, if the wise and learned philosophers of the elder world, the first observers of nutation and aberration, the discoverers of maddening ether and invisible planets, the inventors of Congreve rockets and Shrapnel shells, should find their hearts disposed to enquire what has America done for the benefit of mankind?

Let our answer be this: America, with the same voice which spoke herself into existence as a nation, proclaimed to mankind the inextinguishable rights of human nature, and the only lawful foundations of government. America, in the assembly of nations, since her admission among them, has invariably, though often fruitlessly, held forth to them the hand of honest friendship, of equal freedom, of generous reciprocity.

She has uniformly spoken among them, though often to heedless and often to disdainful ears, the language of equal liberty, of equal justice, and of equal rights.

She has, in the lapse of nearly half a century, without a single exception, respected the independence of other nations while asserting and maintaining her own.

She has abstained from interference in the concerns of others, even when conflict has been for principles to which she clings, as to the last vital drop that visits the heart.

She has seen that probably for centuries to come, all the contests of that Aceldama the European world, will be contests of inveterate power, and emerging right.

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example.

She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.

The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force....

She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit....

[America's] glory is not dominion, but liberty. Her march is the march of the mind. She has a spear and a shield: but the motto upon her shield is, Freedom, Independence, Peace. This has been her Declaration: this has been, as far as her necessary intercourse with the rest of mankind would permit, her practice."

"Mainstream Baptist" Pastor is Anything But

Thanks to Dave at Oklahoma Lefty who brought this Pastor to my attention...

We have seen time and time again how Democrats and those on the left simply change the meaning of words or their phrasing to trick people as in switching to the phrase "reducing the need for abortions" to avoid saying "reducing the number of abortions"... because to Democrats the two are not the same thing.
"Support the troops" by opposing their mission, their efforts and their success... on and on.

He calls his blog "Mainstream Baptist" ... but I submit he is anything but a mainstream Baptist. At least he's not like any of the Baptist preachers I have listened to for over 55 years now.

He preaches for total separation of state and church while combining his politics and religion.

He said in an interview...
"What passes today for being “conservative” is really theocratic. They want to repeal the First Amendment and return to the established state-churches of pre-revolutionary America."

Again, in my 55 years of attending services at Baptist churches..... I have NEVER heard anyone suggest returning America to established state-churches of pre-revolutionary America.... NOR have I EVER heard any conservative or Republican suggest any such thing.
In fact conservatives are for LESS government in our lives... not more. Government run churches are the last thing any conservative would desire.

This post, written by Dr. Bruce Prescott, originally appeared on Mainstream Baptist

Raw Story is reporting that Washington insiders are saying that Vice President Chency is employing "an end run strategy" around President Bush and Secretary of Defense Gates in regard to policy with Iran.

Quoting Steve Clemons of the Washington Note:

The zinger of this information is the admission by this Cheney aide that Cheney himself is frustrated with President Bush and believes, much like Richard Perle, that Bush is making a disastrous mistake by aligning himself with the policy course that Condoleezza Rice, Bob Gates, Michael Hayden and McConnell have sculpted.
According to this official, Cheney believes that Bush can not be counted on to make the "right decision" when it comes to dealing with Iran and thus Cheney believes that he must tie the President's hands.

If this is true, it may be time to impeach Chency for "criminal insubordination."

Dr. Prescott.... a man who claims to be for separation of state and church yet wants to run the state from the pulpit and posts irresponsible untruths like the above at his blog suggesting impeachment? If he can't even spell the Vice President's name correctly how accurate is the rest of his stuff?

From what I can see, Dr Prescott is nothing more than a left-wing liberal Democrat tool posing as a Baptist minister.
I wonder if he knows Dr. Robin Meyers Oklahoma's pulpit pundit?
