Mitt Romney Says To Give GM Back to Taxpayers (You and Me)

Drudge Report

Washington -- The Obama administration and the United Auto Workers should immediately distribute their stock in a restructured GM to American taxpayers, former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Sunday.

"We don't want a president and the head of the UAW running General Motors," Romney, a Michigan native and son of former Gov. George Romney, said in an appearance on "Fox News Sunday."

Romney suggested that the roughly 70 percent of GM that the government could own after it emerges from bankruptcy should be immediately distributed to taxpayers, and the 17.5 percent that will go to a UAW trust fund for retiree healthcare should be handed out to UAW members.

"I'm a son of Detroit. My dad was an auto executive," Romney said. "I drive American cars, I love American cars. My heart bleeds for the people in Michigan, in Detroit, for all those auto workers."

"This is a very sad circumstance for this country, and it represents bad decisions by management, overreaching by the UAW. It's really tragic in a lot of ways, and it has not been well-played either in my opinion by the Bush administration or the Obama administration."

The Election Journal Reports Black Panther Represented Democrat(ic) Party

BREAKING: Official Document says Black Panther was “representing the Democratic Party”

Yesterday, Curt posted on this highly racial statement by the Black Panthers at a Philly voting location: "You're gonna' be ruled by the Black Man" (caught on security video)

Now we learn it was the "Democrat Security Patrol"

Here we have racially charged statements by armed black panthers who happen to work for the Dem party in Philly.
No surprise Obama, Holder & the DOJ spiked the charges against the three black panthers."

Poking Fun at My Side...

And just to be fair and show I can poke fun at my side... (jokes from democrat underground)

Two guys are sitting around talking about politics.

One of them asks the other, "So why are you a Democrat?"

"Because my daddy and granddaddy were Democrats," was the man's reply.

"What if your daddy and granddaddy were horse thieves?"

"In that case, I guess I'd be a Republican."

Ba-da-ching!

Republicans will save the rainforest - if you tell them that’s where the golf ball trees are!

Ba-cha-ching

Two wealthy Repubs are sitting in a restaurant, one of them being the owner.

The owner turns to his guest and says, "See? I'm doing my part to help the economy, I just opened up three new jobs in my restaurant."

Just as the two get finished toasting each other's success, the busboy comes by to clear off their dishes and says, "I know, I have all three of them."

...Cha-cha chingah!

This little old lady calls 911. When the operator answers she yells, "Help, send the police to my house right away! There's a damn Democrat on my front porch and he's playing with himself."

"What?" the operator exclaimed. "I said there is a damn Democrat on my front porch playing with himself and he's weird; I don't know him and I'm afraid! Please send the police!" the little old lady repeated.

"Well, now, how do you know he's a Democrat?"

"Because, you damn fool, if it was a Republican, he'd be screwing somebody!"

New Environmental Fear: Earth "Spinning Out of Control"

From The Daily Tongue Incheek News- Eco-Enquirer
Recent weather events and other natural disasters have many environmentalists fearful that the Earth itself has reached a "tipping point".

(New Brunswick, New Jersey) With the recent onslaught of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and even tsunamis, some prominent environmentalists are expressing fears that the Earth itself has reached a "tipping point".

"One only need look at pictures of the Earth from outer space to realize that our home planet is very vulnerable. Like a wobbling, spinning top we are just hurtling through space, uncontrolled, dangling out there in the cold, unforgiving void", said Ward F. Kennedy II, professor of Environmental Destruction at Rutgers University.

A recent Gallup poll of environmental concerns has suggested that public angst over environmental problems is not nearly high enough. As a result, Time and Vanity Fair magazines have recently carried cover stories that are hoped to whip up enough of a grassroots frenzy for the U.S. government to finally do something about the problem.

One of the Time reporters covering the stories told ecoEnquirer, "As we researched the issues -- from the Inuit's' snowmobiles falling through the ice, to ecosystems having to adjust to a 1 degree rise in global temperatures in the last 100 years -- we became increasingly despondent over humanity's callous treatment of Mother Nature", reported Rachel Carlson.

"We consider it our duty to mold public opinion on this subject with carefully screened information…and if we get a Pulitzer Prize in the process, well, so be it."

Greenpolice spokesperson Rainbow Treetower agreed, saying, "We are pleased with the principled stand the media has taken on this issue. If the scientists are not willing to carry the banner to save Mother Earth, then journalists need to step in to do what we all know needs to be done."

Leftist Enviro-Wacko Quotes

John Hawkins put together this outstanding list of "quotes" from Liberal Lefty Enviro-wacko's. Remember these are the same people that call the rest of us extremists and anti-environment.

You may not believe just how radical and extreme these people really are.

The first group of quotes is titled...
(From RWN)-

Attack Of The Socialist-Luddites

"The right to have children should be a marketable commodity, bought and traded by individuals but absolutely limited by the state." - Kenneth Boulding, originator of the "Spaceship Earth" concept (as quoted by William Tucker in Progress and Privilege, 1982)

"We have wished, we eco-freaks, for a disaster or for a social change to come and bomb us into Stone Age, where we might live like Indians in our valley, with our localism, our appropriate technology, our gardens, our homemade religion -- guilt-free at last!" -- Stewart Brand (writing in the Whole Earth Catalogue

"Free Enterprise really means rich people get richer. They have the freedom to exploit and psychologically rape their fellow human beings in the process . . . Capitalism is destroying the earth." -- Helen Caldicott, Union of Concerned Scientists

"We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for capitalists and their projects . . . We must reclaim the roads and plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres of presently settled land."-- David Foreman, Earth First!

"Everything we have developed over the last 100 years should be destroyed." -- Pentti Linkola

If you ask me, it'd be a little short of disastrous for us to discover a source of clean, cheap, abundant energy because of what we would do with it. We ought to be looking for energy sources that are adequate for our needs, but that won't give us the excesses of concentrated energy with which we could do mischief to the earth or to each other. -- Amory Lovins in The Mother Earth - Plowboy Interview, Nov/Dec 1977, p. 22

The only real good technology is no technology at all. Technology is taxation without representation, imposed by our elitist species (man) upon the rest of the natural world -- John Shuttleworth

What we've got to do in energy conservation is try to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, to have approached global warming as if it is real means energy conservation, so we will be doing the right thing anyway in terms of economic policy and environmental policy. -- Timothy Wirth, former U.S. Senator (D-Colorado)

Kill 'Em All And Let God Sort 'Em Out

I suspect that eradicating small pox was wrong. It played an important part in balancing ecosystems. -- John Davis, editor of Earth First! Journal

Human beings, as a species, have no more value than slugs. -- John Davis, editor of Earth First! Journal

The extinction of the human species may not only be inevitable but a good thing....This is not to say that the rise of human civilization is insignificant, but there is no way of showing that it will be much help to the world in the long run. -- Economist editorial

We advocate biodiversity for biodiversity’s sake. It may take our extinction to set things straight -- David Foreman, Earth First!

Phasing out the human race will solve every problem on earth, social and environmental. -- Dave Forman, Founder of Earth First!

If radical environmentalists were to invent a disease to bring human populations back to sanity, it would probably be something like AIDS -- Earth First! Newsletter

Human happiness, and certainly human fecundity, is not as important as a wild and healthy planet...Some of us can only hope for the right virus to come along. -- David Graber, biologist, National Park Service

The collective needs of non-human species must take precedence over the needs and desires of humans. -- Dr. Reed F. Noss, The Wildlands Project

If I were reincarnated, I would wish to be returned to Earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels. -- Prince Phillip, World Wildlife Fund

Cannibalism is a "radical but realistic solution to the problem of overpopulation." -- Lyall Watson, The Financial Times, 15 July 1995

Poverty For 'Those People'

We, in the green movement, aspire to a cultural model in which killing a forest will be considered more contemptible and more criminal than the sale of 6-year-old children to Asian brothels. -- Carl Amery

Every time you turn on an electric light, you are making another brainless baby -- Helen Caldicott, Union of Concerned Scientists

To feed a starving child is to exacerbate the world population problem -- Lamont Cole

If there is going to be electricity, I would like it to be decentralized, small, solar-powered -- Gar Smith -- editor of the Earth Island Institute's online magazine The Edge

The only hope for the world is to make sure there is not another United States: We can't let other countries have the same number of cars, the amount of industrialization, we have in the U.S. We have to stop these Third World countries right where they are. And it is important to the rest of the world to make sure that they don't suffer economically by virtue of our stopping them. -- Michael Oppenheimer, Environmental Defense Fund

Left Wrong Again

The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population. -- Reid Bryson, "Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man", (1971)

The battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s, the world will undergo famines. Hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. Population control is the only answer -- Paul Ehrlich - The Population Bomb (1968)

I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000 -- Paul Ehrlich in (1969)

In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish. -- Paul Ehrlich, Earth Day (1970)

Before 1985, mankind will enter a genuine age of scarcity . . . in which the accessible supplies of many key minerals will be facing depletion -- Paul Ehrlich in (1976)

This [cooling] trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century -- Peter Gwynne, Newsweek 1976

There are ominous signs that the earth's weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production - with serious political implications for just about every nation on earth. The drop in food production could begin quite soon... The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologist are hard-pressed to keep up with it. -- Newsweek, April 28, (1975)

This cooling has already killed hundreds of thousands of people. If it continues and no strong action is taken, it will cause world famine, world chaos and world war, and this could all come about before the year 2000. -- Lowell Ponte "The Cooling", 1976

If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000...This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age. -- Kenneth E.F. Watt on air pollution and global cooling, Earth Day (1970)

Obama To Have "The Death Of Israel" on His Hands

3 quick quotes from Dick Morris.com on Obama's abandonment of Israel and support for the enemies of America-

"In classic Stockholm Syndrome fashion, the Obama administration is empathizing more with the Iranian leaders who are holding Israel hostage than with the nation that may be wiped off the map if Iran acquires the bomb." -Dick Morris

…we have learned that the [Obama] administration has made its peace with Iran’s nuclear aspirations. Senior administration officials acknowledge as much in off-record briefings. It is true, they say, that Iran may exploit its future talks with the US to run down the clock before they test a nuclear weapon. But, they add, if that happens, the US will simply have to live with a nuclear-armed mullocracy.” - Caroline Glick Deputy Editor and Op-Ed writer for the Jerusalem Post.

"One thing is increasingly clear: Barack Obama is not about to lift a finger to stop Iran from developing the bomb. And neither is Hillary Clinton." -Dick Morris

Colin Powell Calling For "Democrat-Lite" Republicans

Colin Powell's attempt to tell the Republican party and conservatives what to do is kinda like Zel Miller attempting to tell the Democrat party what to do except General Powell wants Republicans to become "Democrat-lite" and Zel Miller just wanted his old party back from the socialists.

Memo to General Powell:

Republicans already tried to be "Democrat-Lite" by choosing "Maverick" John McCain as Presidential nominee last fall.
You voted for Obama anyway.

I hate to break it to you, but you are a Democrat now sir, own it... feel it, be the ball.
Smell the fascism in the air sir?

Our Environment is actually getting BETTER, not Worse

Environmental quality continues to improve dramatically in the United States, according to the Index of Leading Environmental Indicators 2002, released today by the San Francisco-based Pacific Research Institute (PRI). Authors Steven Hayward and Julie Majeres show that environmental quality has been improving since the first Earth Day 32 years ago, despite the public perception that it is getting worse.

Environmental scare-mongering harms environmental policy because it detracts from constructive, science-based policy,” said the authors. “With all of the information that's available online, citizens don't have to take anyone's word for it, they can check it out for themselves.”

The study uses government data to examine long-term air and water quality trends, toxic chemicals and land use, as well as biodiversity issues. The authors take an in-depth look at the evolution of the environmental debate and provide extensive web-based resources.

On Earth Day, April 22, the Institute launched a new environmental section on its website with local data for all 50 states and an exhaustive guide to online environmental resources www.pacificresearch.org/press/index.html).

The following is a top-10 list of positive environmental trends based on the report:

  1. Air quality is improving and is going to continue to improve. Many news stories give the impression that air quality is worsening, and that health problems from air pollution are on the rise. However, since 1970, aggregate emissions of the six “criteria” pollutants regulated under the Clean Air Acts have declined 29 percent, at the same time that the US economy grew 150 percent, auto travel increased by 143 percent, and total US energy consumption (the primary source of air pollution emissions) increased 45 percent. Air quality will continue to improve because of technology, turnover of the auto fleet to lower-polluting engines, and new regulations of public utilities.

  2. The United States is not running out of energy. Volatile gasoline prices and California's blackouts have led many to think we are entering a new era of energy shortages. The truth is that the inflation-adjusted price of gasoline, even with the turmoil in the Middle East pushing up oil prices, is near an all-time low. Other energy supplies (coal and natural gas especially) remain abundant.

  3. Humans are not facing increasing risks from toxic chemicals. The total amount of toxic chemicals used in the US economy is declining. New CDC studies suggest that human exposure to toxic heavy metals is far below the thresholds for health risk. According to the EPA's Toxic Releases Inventory, toxic releases have declined 48.5 percent since 1988. And while further study is needed, there does not appear to be an imminent threat from “bioaccumulative” chemicals. Residues of DDT in human tissues have fallen 80 percent in the last generation.

  4. Economic growth is good for the environment. In the 1970s, many leading environmentalists argued that economic growth was incompatible with a healthy environment. But international data show that the nations with the most robust economies have the best record of environmental protection. Today, a growing number of environmentalists are acknowledging that economic growth is the main prerequisite for an improving environment.

  5. The United States is not running out of farmland or open space. The rapid growth of American metro areas in recent decades has fueled the understandable perception that we are “running out of land.” New methods of analyzing satellite imagery have revealed that most of the statistics on land cover in the United States are turning out to be wrong by a high order of magnitude. How cities should grow is an important issue, but choices should be made based on accurate information.

  6. Water quality is improving. Water quality is measured very poorly and inconsistently in the United States, but several measures indicate substantial improvement. Wetlands loss has virtually ended, for example. The next generation of water quality improvement, reducing runoff from farms and the paved surfaces of our cities will be a major challenge.

  7. We're going to get better at protecting species and habitat. The threat of species extinction through loss of habitat is the single most important environmental problem facing the United States and the world. However, our knowledge of species, habitat protection strategies, and creative initiatives to preserve habitat are growing at a rapid rate. Effort should be made to preserve “hotspots” in tropical forests that are especially rich in biodiversity. The top 25 such areas compose just 1.4 percent of the Earth's land area, but contain perhaps as much as 70 percent of plants and animal species. One of the foremost biodiversity experts, biologist Edward O. Wilson, estimates that preserving this area could cost as little as $30 billion. To put this into perspective, the US private sector spends $100 billion annually complying with environmental regulations.

  8. Environmental issues aren't just for experts anymore. Many citizens think environmental issues are too complicated to understand, or that accurate information is hard to obtain. Now there is an abundance of user-friendly government information available on the Internet. Much of it is highly localized, offering powerful tools to empower citizens to “check it out” for themselves, and to be proactive in improving the environment in their town or region.

  9. The most important new environmental initiatives are taking place on the local level and through private action. Environmental discourse tends to give the impression that unless the federal government acts, the environment won't be effectively protected. But scholars are calling “civic environmentalism” the newest trend in environmental improvement: citizens banding together without lawsuits or government mandates to clean up rivers, protect and restore habitat, and preserve species.

  10. Environmental improvement in the United States is perhaps the greatest public-policy success story of the last generation. While most people point to public policy successes such as the drop in the crime rate and welfare dependency over the last decade, the magnitude of improvement in the environment over the last generation is much larger. A proper perspective on real trends will set priorities for the next generation.

Liz Cheney Conducts Clinic on the Destruction of Liberal Arguments

From the Institute of Conservative Thought...

Liz Cheney Puts on a Clinic....

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell (frothing at the mouth about waterboarding)...
"It is torture. This government's prosecuted people in the past for doing exactly this, but Dick Cheney believes it's not torture and that's essential to his position. If it was effective, why didn't they use it on the 500 people that Bush-Cheney released from Guantanamo, 75 of whom we know now have gone back into the terrorism business. That was a failure of the Bush-Cheney administration to keep America safe by processing people correctly at Guantanamo. Is that accurate?"

LIZ CHENEY: Let me go through all of the inaccuracies in what you've just said. First of all the question of whether or not enhanced interrogation is "torture" has been answered and it's been answered legally and it's not that Cheney or President Bush or anybody else "believed" it to be torture. The justice department of the United States --
O'DONNELL: (interrupting)
LIZ: Lawrence, I let you go.
O'DONNELL: Are you afraid of waterboarding, Liz?
LIZ: No. Waterboarding is not torture.

O'DONNELL: (pompous laugh)

LIZ: You know what, though? I would refer you to Attorney General Holder's testimony --

O'DONNELL: Why has this country prosecuted people for waterboarding?
LIZ: Lawrence?
O'DONNELL: Why did we do that?
LIZ: Because they did a number of other things in addition to waterboarding. Attorney General Holder had a hard time explaining exactly what the legal definition is of waterboarding that would make it torture. We've done it to our own people. Secondly, your argument about why didn't we do it to 500 other people proves our point. It was used in three cases when we had terrorists who had information about potential attacks on the United States of America. So the notion that somehow, you know, we should have waterboarded everybody? I'm surprised that that's a position you've taken.

Let's move on to MSNBC to Scarborough's show today, and they have a discussion of "torture." This was Liz Cheney with CNBC's Donny Deutsch, who came to broadcasting from the world of advertising. And Donny Deutsch, in typical uninformed, ignorant liberal arrogance, says, "Either your dad's lying or the president's lying. Who's lying?"
LIZ: Well, the president could, you know, resolve this this morning and --
DEUTSCH: No! No! No! No! But he came out and he said, "I have looked at those intelligence reports."

LIZ: Well, I think actually what he said was I've seen "the" intelligence reports. So it's not clear to me he was actually referring to the same things my dad was but -- DEUTSCH: Don't you think at this point --
LIZ: -- let me finish the answer on this, Donny.
DEUTSCH: -- he would have seen...?

LIZ: No, no.
DEUTSCH: This is a critical report!
LIZ: I'm sure --
DEUTSCH: He would have seen one way or the other?

LIZ: I'm sure he has at this point.
DEUTSCH: Yeah!
LIZ: If you release the memos, then you and I don't have to have this argument about who's telling the truth. We could all look at it for ourselves, and that's where I think, you know, the administration's got a real problem. Because they haven't been able to explain to the American people why they're willing to release information that talks about how people were interrogated without putting out the information that shows what we gained from those interrogations.
Two more.
Last night on Anderson Cooper 180, he said, "There are techniques which have been around. The Nazis used them, the Khmer Rouge used them, the North Koreans used them. So it's not as if terrorists were unfamiliar with these techniques. If they wanted to train for them -- and I'm not sure you really can train for torture or enhanced interrogation..."

LIZ: "I would question the premise here. The legal memos are very clear, and this was a very carefully designed program, and it was a program that the CIA designed, that they had the lawyers look at to make sure that the line that divided sort of rough treatment from torture wouldn't be crossed. What the president has done is ensure that no future president can use any of these techniques. So that's a big step, and that's a step that I think really does endanger the country -- and, frankly, if the president himself in the future is faced with a ticking time bomb scenario, it's not clear to me, you know, what exactly he will do even these reserved to himself the light to take action like these."
Anderson Cooper: "More than 100 people are known to have died in US custody, some that were ruled a homicide. If these were tightly controlled things, how come so many people are murdered in US custody?"
LIZ: Anderson, I think that your question is highly irresponsible.
COOPER: Why?

LIZ: Because you are contemplating things that aren't conflated. When somebody dies or is "murdered" in US custody then we are a great nation and we take the people who are responsible and we put them on trial as you've seen happen throughout the last eight years. That is not the enhanced interrogation program, and to somehow suggest that those two things are the same I think willfully conflates something and ends up in a situation where we aren't able to take a truthful look at the last eight years as we go forward, because we are muddying the waters about what really happened.

The Goode Family Pokes Fun At the Left

In my opinion, nothing will probably ever come close to South Park in terms of their ability to make fun of the left while making fun of the right, but creators of the new show The Goode Family, a new animated series debuting tonight on ABC, lets 'King of the Hill' Creator Mike Judge tweak the polar opposites of his other creation, the Hills.

The Goodes care so very, very much about everything. The environment. Recycling. Veganism. Al Gore....

They drive a hybrid car, own a vegan dog named Che, have an adopted white son from South Africa and own bumper stickers which say, “Support our troops and their opponents.”

I watched the first episode the other night and it was "just alright for me dog".

Kinda forced and stiff, it still had some good lines and funny moments however. Anything to offset Comedy Central's one-sided comedy is a relief and the Goode Family look to provide some of that much needed relief.

U.S. Embassy to hold First-Ever Gay Pride Party Tonight... In Iraq

From RWN....

In the short time that President Obama has been in office, there have been many breaches of foreign protocol such as an overt familiarity with the British Queen and bowing to the Saudi King. But the most significant indiscretion will occur tonight as homosexuality is promoted in our embassy in a foreign land--in Baghdad, Iraq, no less.

In the May 22, 2009 edition of The Washington Post, columnist Al Kamen wrote a piece entitled, "For One Night, Baghdad Gets a Pink Zone." He revealed that the State Department is "holding what the invitation says is the first-ever U.S. Embassy Gay Pride Theme Party next Friday at Bagdaddy's, which is the embassy employee association's pub."

The invitation, which was sent out on May 10, encouraged everyone to, "Dress in drag or as a gay icon."

The ideas of tolerance, diversity, and understanding are frequently touted by President Obama and his allies on the left. They have claimed that these attributes were lacking during the Bush years, specifically regarding Middle Eastern policy. However, by allowing a gay pride party to be sanctioned by the government the current administration is not showing any tolerance or understanding of the Middle Eastern culture and religion.

Best quotes...

"The homosexual agenda has transformed from desiring equal treatment under the law to demanding state sanctioning of their chosen lifestyle."
And...
"More offensive than our men in arms in an Islamic country are men in drag, as this strikes at the very core of propriety and decency within their culture."
FULL STORY

And the left loves to carry on about how George Bush damaged relations with the rest of the world and how Obama was going to fix it.
Not so much.

The "Anti-Environment Crowd" ?

When I was young growing up on 15 acres near Choctaw, the dirt road by our house was a popular place for dumping stuff. People came out to the country to dump apparently anything they couldn't fit in the garbage. We rescued dogs, cats and cleaned up trash along a couple miles of Henny Road. My dad would stop the pickup whenever he saw a new trash pile and we would load it into the back of the truck... dad would take the time to look through it sometimes for a name and address of who did the dumping and turned it in to the sherrif.

When we go camping, the rule is to "leave the camp cleaner than you found it".

I buy fishing licenses and hunting licenses regularly but only go fishing once or twice a year and hunting less than that... I figure it's okay since the money goes to wildlife conservation.

Having moved to Colorado and lived for a number of years in the mid 1970's, littering is a big no-no in this state and I learned not to even throw out a single gum wrapper or cigar butt a long time ago.

I plant trees... we have several hundred full grown pine trees on our property now that I planted when I was a teen.

When it was learned that paper bags were bad at the grocery store, I always asked for plastic... until we learned plastic is worse, now I use paper... from recycled material.

I save my aluminum pop cans and once took in over $90.00 worth at one time.

I believe that when coal companies mine coal that they revegetate the area back after the process, when oil companies drill they must take care to have as little impact as possible... but I do believe they should drill. It has been shown that it CAN and is being done with very little impact.

I care about the environment, the birds, trees, critters, humans... the whole deal. Everyone I know and hang out with is the same way.

But... it seems that to according to some, I may be part of some big "anti-environment crowd"... whatever or whoever that is.

I personally have never met anyone who was "anti-environment" nor have I heard of such people before.

Yes, I admit I've gone pee-pee behind the tree, but the tree lived.

But whoever they are, they are allegedly using the environment to "grab power" away from those on the left who are busy grabbing power via the global warming hoax.

And I thought I was just an innocent rightwing, woman hating, knuckledragging warmonger picking up trash and stuff.....

Health Care Fixed as easy as 1-2-3

The Red Stater Health Care Plan-

1- Let everyone buy health insurance across state lines (drastically reducing rates) and encourage companies to provide group coverage rates to individuals.
2- Give everyone a "healthcare tax cut/refund" covering the majority of their healthcare insurance costs.
3- Problem solved.

There... that wasn't so tough, now was it?

Now is the Time to Defeat 'Obama-Care'... According to Obama

Breitbart-
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama warned Thursday that if Congress doesn't deliver health care legislation by the end of the year, the opportunity will be lost, a plea to political supporters to pressure lawmakers to act. "If we don't get it done this year, we're not going to get it done," Obama told supporters by phone as he flew home on Air Force One from a West Coast fundraising trip.

Call or write your congressman or congresswoman and let them know you oppose nationalized health-care and NOW IS THE TIME TO STOP IT... according to the President.

President's 'Pay To Play' Policy Paying Partisan Politicians with Prime Posts

So, how much for the 'Court of St. James' job please?
Only $1million... really?
I'll take two with a side of Chicago style pay-ola and a kick-back slushy please.

Obama Offers Prime Posts to Top Campaign Contributors

May 29 (Bloomberg) -- Louis Susman has one thing in common with many of his predecessors nominated to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom: $$ money $$.

Susman, 71, a retired Citigroup Inc. senior investment banker, raised between $200,000 and $500,000 for President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign and another $300,000 for his inauguration. On Wednesday, Obama nominated Susman to the post formally known as the Court of St. James.

Like Andrew Mellon, Joseph Kennedy and Walter Annenberg before him, Susman’s credentials stem more from involvement in financing party politics than foreign policy experience.

Yes, You Are A Salesman Too

I thought I would respond to Oklahoma Lefty's post "Sales Mentality vs Tech Mentality" with a few articles which seem to confirm my belief that....

Everyone's A Salesperson
(By Brian Tracy)
"Sometimes I ask my seminar attendees, “How many people here are in sales?” It’s interesting to watch how people respond to that question. There are always a few people who will raise a hand at first, and then another hand goes up, and then another, and soon perhaps half the people in the room have a hand up, even though they may be in fields such as management, administration, finance and accounting.

I then smile and ask again, “Now, how many people here are really in sales?”
At this point, virtually every person in the room has raised a hand. We all smile at the realization that each of us is in the business of selling every single day.

From the time you get up in the morning until the time you go to bed at night, you are negotiating, communicating, persuading, and influencing - trying to get people to cooperate with you to accomplish the things that you want them to accomplish.

So the pivotal question with regard to selling is not if you are doing it, but if you are good at it.

All top executives are excellent salespeople.
All effective parents are wonderful salespeople.
All effective employees use sales techniques to get their coworkers and bosses to go along with them and to cooperate with them in getting the job done.
Everyone who is effective in virtually any are of life that involves other people is an excellent salesperson of some kind.

Salespeople are the movers and shakers in every business and industry. They are the key people who create the demand for all the products and services that keep everyone employed at every other occupation.

EVERYONE IS A SALESMAN
"Everyone is a salesman. It’s just a matter of what you’re trying to sell.

Whether it involves a physical product, a service, or even a concept, everyone is selling something. It may not even be a conscious action, but in just about every time there’s more than one person is involved in some sort of interaction, there’s a certain amount of persuasion and influence taking place.

If you are able to keep that concept in the back of your mind, it will open your eyes to an entirely different world of communication and personal interaction."

"You are a Salesman/Saleswoman when you go for a job interview.
You are a Salesman when you try to meet a romantic partner
You are a Salesman when you try and get your project accepted.
So you are always a Salesman for yourself and you should always take every opportunity to improve your Sales Skills."

In SPORTS, Everyone is a Salesman

(From Sports Info Business) "Many of the students I mentor at the Long Beach State Sports Management program insist that when they begin their sports career, it will not involve sales. I always let these student declarations hang in their air for a moment. I find it funny because they do not yet realize that everyone within a team administration or a front office is part of a sales effort whether they realize it or not. Let me show you an example and then I will illustrate more specifically with relative job descriptions."

Reason #4 Sonia Sotomayor Should NOT Be Confirmed to Supreme Court

Reason #4-

(World Net Daily) Sonia Sotomayor 'La Raza Member'
American Bar Assn lists Obama choice as member of group

"As President Obama's Supreme Court nominee comes under heavy fire for allegedly being a "racist," Judge Sonia Sotomayor is listed as a member of the National Council of La Raza, a group that's promoted driver's licenses for illegal aliens, amnesty programs, and no immigration law enforcement by local and state police."

La Raza mission statement:

"Partido Nacional La Raza Unida (PNLRU) supports a revolutionary alternative that will change current power structures, realize economic democracy and foster spiritual and cultural growth. Re-education of Raza, control of our communities and a commitment to our families are essential to our self-determination."

Reason #3 Sonia Sotomayor Should NOT Be Confirmed to Supreme Court

Reason #1- Sotomayor's racist/sexist remarks that sex and skin color determines ones ability to come to "better conclusions".

Reason #2- Sotomayor's remarks on camera that the circuit court should "make policy".

Reason #3- Sotomayor's opinion that "the right to possess a gun is clearly not a fundamental right".

Fox News- Judge Sonia Sotomayor could walk into a firestorm on Capitol Hill over her stance on gun rights, with conservatives beginning to question some controversial positions she's taken over the past several years on the Second Amendment.

Earlier this year, President Obama's Supreme Court nominee joined an opinion with the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that Second Amendment rights do not apply to the states.

A 2004 opinion she joined also cited as precedent that "the right to possess a gun is clearly not a fundamental right."

Ken Blackwell, a senior fellow with the Family Research Council, called Obama's nomination a "declaration of war against America's gun owners."

Displaying American Flag "Offensive", Burning it or Spitting on it "Not Offensive"

Mansfield TX- CBS- A woman was asked to take down an American flag she had brought to her office celebrating Memorial Day because it was "offensive".

When Debbie McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. "I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'" McLucas said.

McLucas' husband and sons are former military men. Her daughter is currently serving in Iraq as a combat medic.

Stifling a cry, McLucas said, "I just wonder if all those young men and women over there are really doing this for nothing."

Apparently in America today it's perfectly fine to throw it on the ground, burn it, desecrate it or spit on the American flag but proudly displaying it is "offensive".

Click HERE for the CBS 11 News interview with Debbie McLucas.

UPDATE 5/28/09 !!!!

Thanks to Mike McCarville at TMR.COM

"After a thorough roasting in the blogosphere, Kindred officials decided to let hospital supervisor Debbie McLucas put an American flag back on her office wall."

"We have invited the employee (McLucas) to put the flag back up,"

Very Serious Question About Judicial Nominees

If you consider yourself "fair and balanced", non-partisan, objective then consider this.

Should a judicial nominee who believes that a person of a particular skin color and upbringing will reach a better (or worse) conclusion than a person of another skin color be disqualified based on that fact... any judge, much less the Supreme Court?

Of course, that is a extremely radical position which goes against everything this country stands for and was founded on.
Skin color and ethnicity have nothing to do with reaching conclusions... we're long past that.

Well then, shouldn't Sonia Sotomayer's statement from a speech (regarding Latino Supreme Court nominees) that "a Latino woman with her life experiences will reach a better conclusion than a white male" exclude her from sitting on the Supreme Court?
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." -Sonia Sotomayor
Without being partisan I say yes it does disqualify her or anyone for that matter who made such an outrageous and radical statement.

Imagine Justice Roberts had written in a speech regarding Supreme Court nominees that he would hope that a white male with the richness of his life experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latino woman who hasn't had that life.

He would have been forced to apologize and withdraw and ridden out of town on a rail.

So then should Sonia Sotomayor.

Sorry, but if we approve judges that believe skin color and reasoning ability are linked then we are in serious trouble boys and girls.

SAY NO TO SONIA SOTOMAYOR... write or call your senator today... this cannot stand.

Sonia Sotomayor Socialist or Bait?

Oklahomily Dave Scores Again...

The question is not whether Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor has socialist leanings.

The question is more interesting than that.

Does the White House not realize that posting her 1976 Princeton yearbook photo includes her tribute to Norman Thomas, the perennial candidate of the Socialist Party, or does the White House simply not care?

Or are they trying to create a firestorm over a 33-year-old yearbook entry in order to make the right look mean spirited?

Others weigh in on this HERE, and HERE and HERE.

If you'd like to read more about the late Norman Thomas, this is illuminative.

One of the quotes of Mr. Thomas:

“The difference between Democrats and Republicans is: Democrats have accepted some ideas of Socialism cheerfully, while Republicans have accepted them reluctantly."

N Korea Threatens Attack, Obama Threatens... Finger Wag?

Update on "Pop Quiz Mr President" post.

North Korea Threatens to Attack U.S. & S. Korea Warships
May 27, 2009

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea threatened military action Wednesday against U.S. and South Korean warships plying the waters near the Koreas' disputed maritime border, raising the specter of a naval clash just days after the regime's underground nuclear test.

Pyongyang, reacting angrily to Seoul's decision to join an international program to intercept ships suspected of aiding nuclear proliferation, called the move tantamount to a declaration of war.

"Now that the South Korean puppets were so ridiculous as to join in the said racket and dare declare a war against compatriots," North Korea is "compelled to take a decisive measure," the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said in a statement carried by state media.

The North Korean army called it a violation of the armistice the two Koreas signed in 1953 to end their three-year war, and said it would no longer honor the treaty.

South Korea's military said Wednesday it was prepared to "respond sternly" to any North Korean provocation.

North Korea's latest belligerence comes as the U.N. Security Council debates how to punish the regime for testing a nuclear bomb Monday in what President Barack Obama called a "blatant violation" of international law.

Obama: Reality vs Campaign Promises

WASHINGTONThe Pentagon is prepared to leave fighting forces in Iraq for as long as a decade despite an agreement between the United States and Iraq that would bring all American troops home by 2012, the top U.S. Army officer said Tuesday.

"We're going to have 10 Army and Marine units deployed for a decade in Iraq and Afghanistan." -General George Casey, Army Chief of Staff

Yet Defense Secretary Robert Gates has repeated the Obama campaign mantra... "Under the Status of Forces Agreement with the Iraqi government, I intend to remove all U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of 2011,"

General Casey also said the U.S. had to be careful about what assets get deployed to Afghanistan. "Anything you put in there would be in there for a decade," he said.

As Army chief of staff, Casey is primarily responsible for assembling the manpower and determining assignments. He insisted the Army's 1.1-million size was sufficient even to handle the extended Mideast conflicts.

Two America's?

Do you define a person more by their mistakes and failures or by their achievements and successes?

Do you define America more by her mistakes and failures or by her achievements and successes?

I know those who live in that gray area will want to answer with "both"... but that is really intellectually dishonest isn't it?
Besides... I said "more" instead of "totally" to cover that.... there is no gray area.

I submit this is one of the major differences between conservatives and liberal-leftists... between Republicans and Democrats if you will.

Conservatives on the right recognizes America has made mistakes and had failures but defines America by it's achievements, success and ability to overcome all of those mistakes and failures.

Those on the left literally define America by it's mistakes and failures and recognize some achievements and successes (when it suits them politically) but believe we have not overcome mistakes and failures.

The above is according to me of course... what say you?

Why Liberals Hate Christians

Liberals in America despise Christians of true faith.

By Kevin McCullough at TownHall.com

"They do this because in doing so their own guilt is appeased, their anger is justified, and they can finally lay blame for their own misery at someone else's feet."

Last night Alexandra Pelosi's newest documentary, "Friends of God" aired on HBO. In that Alexandra is the daughter of the nation's first feminist, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi it was all too easy to pre-judge where Alexandra's work would land. An expose to uncover the hidden secrets of evangelicals in America , produced by the leftist daughter of the most prominent liberal feminist in America - hmm what would she say?"

Full Article by Kevin McCullough

Here is another piece which gets right to the nuts and bolts...

Top Ten Reasons Liberals Hate Christians

1) Liberals are relativists and hate Christians because Christians believe in absolute truth.
2) Liberals do not want anyone to say that immorality is immoral.
3) Liberals are selfish and are more interested in their "feelings" then they are with what is right for others.
4) Liberals misunderstand what Christians really believe.
5) Since liberals see themselves as the superior enlighten ones they do not recognize that taking a position against their position is not automatically hate.
6) Liberals do not want to listen to what makes sense, they would rather listen to their senses.
7) Liberals ignore the clear evidence of the result of their philosophical positions influence on the last 40 years. It had been a social disaster and they do not want to hear it.
8) They see Christians as intellectually inferior.
9) Liberals see Christians as wanting to impose their religion on them when in truth it is the liberals who have used the courts system to impose their secular humanism religion on all of us.
10) Liberals are spiritually lost and blind to the truth of the gospel. Consider the following bible verses:
"But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14
Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father: but he that confesses the Son has the Father also. -1 John 2:22-23

And below is one more brutally-honest take on why liberals hate Christians-
"Liberals Hate Christians"

"Christianity is a hindrance to liberal ideas of progressive social relations. It must be removed. This is a cardinal tenet of liberalism today, and it is clear why there is no desire among the left to promote the Christian faith, why they defend abortion, homosexuality, pre and extramarital sex, and almost every other vile crudity that pervades our country: men must be "free," and Christianity is the greatest obstacle to that freedom and does all sorts of evil to prevent people from being "free" In the liberal mind, "freedom" equals "progress," so, Christianity must be eliminated, or at least relegated to a noninfluential role in society's affairs."

Quote of the Year?

Thanks to Dave at Oklahomily blog...

"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people." - Opinion piece from Pravda (Russian for "Truth")

The author of the piece lays out an interesting take on what's happening in America.

"First the population was dumbed down...

Then their faith in God was destroyed...

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive."

He concludes..

"The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker."

Uhhh... Pop Quiz Mr President

October 2008:
Mark my words,” Joe Biden told a group of wealthy contributors. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like it did John Kennedy.” A moment later Biden added, “Watch, we're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
...“I guarantee you,” Biden said, “it's going to happen. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate."

May 25, 2009-
Wall Street Journal: "North Korea's test of a second nuclear device Monday didn't surprise readers who saw John Bolton's recent prediction on these pages. But it does once again put in sharp relief the world's failure to counter dictator Kim Jong Il's challenge to global security. If history is any guide, Kim's strategy is to keep escalating until he extorts more money, aid and global recognition. This time in particular he's testing President Obama and his vow to "engage" the world's rogues."

"The stakes here go beyond the ambitions of one nasty regime. North Korea has shown in the past it is willing to sell its missile and other technology around the world, not least to Iran and Syria.
The mullahs in Tehran and other rogues
are carefully watching the response of the new American President as they contemplate the costs of their own WMD ambitions."

May 26 2009-

SEOUL (AFP)After Nuclear Blast, N Korea Fires Missiles:

"North Korea reportedly fired two short-range missiles on Tuesday, in a move set to heighten tensions after its latest nuclear weapons test drew global condemnation.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting to consider the options after Pyongyang's test of a nuclear device on Monday.

The Council called the test a "clear violation" of international law and immediately began working on a resolution that could impose new sanctions on the secretive North, which has now tested two nuclear bombs in three years."

Meanwhile....
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday rejected Obama's proposal for it to "freeze" its nuclear work in return for no new sanctions and ruled out any talks with major powers on the issue.

UPDATE: Tuesday pm- N Korea has now fired a total of 5 (five)... update- make that 6 (six) missiles in the past 24 hrs.

N. Korean President Kim Jong Il was "unavailable for comment".

Meet Sonia Sotomayor "not that smart and kind of a bully on the bench"

President Obama picks an extremist liberal Judge for Supreme Court.
For those who wonder what conservatives mean when we say we oppose judges who legislate from the bench, meet Sonia Sotomayor she is judge, jury, legislature, policy-maker, sexist-racist, bully ... all rolled into one.

Here are just a couple of "gems" that have passed her lips...

"the court of appeals is where policy is made."- Sonia Sotomayor

"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." -Sonia Sotomayor

Jeff Rosen points out other interesting things about Sonia Sotomayor...

"As one former Second Circuit clerk for another judge put it. "She has an inflated opinion of herself, and is domineering during oral arguments, but her questions aren't penetrating and don't get to the heart of the issue." (During one argument, an elderly judicial colleague is said to have leaned over and said, "Will you please stop talking and let them talk?")

"Sotomayor, several former clerks complained, rankled her colleagues by sending long memos that didn't distinguish between substantive and trivial points, with petty editing suggestions--fixing typos and the like--rather than focusing on the core analytical issues."

The most consistent concern was that Sotomayor, although an able lawyer, was "not that smart and kind of a bully on the bench," as one former Second Circuit clerk for another judge put it.

But to be fair... she does have her supporters eager to lower the bar (no pun intended) for her.
Said one former clerk for another judge... "She's a fine Second Circuit judge--maybe not the smartest ever, but how often are Supreme Court nominees the smartest ever?"

Now let's watch the main stream media present her to us as a tough but moderate intellectual and hey she likes baseball.

Obama Still Campaigning.... Even on Memorial Day

From Wordsmith at Flopping Aces Blog.

"I know that there is nothing I will not do to keep our country safe, even as I face no harder decision than sending our men and women to war — and no moment more difficult than writing a letter to the families of the fallen. And that’s why as long as I am President, I will only send our troops into harm’s way when it is absolutely necessary, and I will always provide them with the equipment and support they need to get the job done". (Applause.) - President Barack Hussein Obama, Memorial Day Speech, 2009

Implying that his predecessor (George W Bush) sent troops into harm's way when it wasn't necessary and sent them without the equipment or support needed to get the job done but somehow without noting that in fact he (Obama) personally voted NOT to fund the troops during that war and opposed getting the job done in that war at every opportunity.

What a pathetic loser, I'm sorry... but that's what I think of this worthless piece of human flesh we call our President right now.

Governor Palin Turns Down $28.6 million in Stimulus Money

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday became the only governor to turn down federal stimulus money for energy efficiency.

In announcing the veto of $28.6 million in funds, Palin said she wouldn't accept money tied to adoption of building codes by local governments.

"Alaskans and our communities have a long history of independence and opposing many mandates from Washington, D.C.," Palin said in a statement announcing the veto.

A Memorial Day Thank-You

Your service and efforts make our world a better place, God-speed to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. May we never forget.

Thanks also to Musings of a Muskogee Politico... for these powerful images.

And for this quote-
"And now, friends and countrymen, if the wise and learned philosophers of the elder world, the first observers of nutation and aberration, the discoverers of maddening ether and invisible planets, the inventors of Congreve rockets and Shrapnel shells, should find their hearts disposed to enquire what has America done for the benefit of mankind?

Let our answer be this: America, with the same voice which spoke herself into existence as a nation, proclaimed to mankind the inextinguishable rights of human nature, and the only lawful foundations of government. America, in the assembly of nations, since her admission among them, has invariably, though often fruitlessly, held forth to them the hand of honest friendship, of equal freedom, of generous reciprocity.

She has uniformly spoken among them, though often to heedless and often to disdainful ears, the language of equal liberty, of equal justice, and of equal rights.

She has, in the lapse of nearly half a century, without a single exception, respected the independence of other nations while asserting and maintaining her own.

She has abstained from interference in the concerns of others, even when conflict has been for principles to which she clings, as to the last vital drop that visits the heart.

She has seen that probably for centuries to come, all the contests of that Aceldama the European world, will be contests of inveterate power, and emerging right.

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example.

She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.

The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force....

She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit....

[America's] glory is not dominion, but liberty. Her march is the march of the mind. She has a spear and a shield: but the motto upon her shield is, Freedom, Independence, Peace. This has been her Declaration: this has been, as far as her necessary intercourse with the rest of mankind would permit, her practice."

"Mainstream Baptist" Pastor is Anything But

Thanks to Dave at Oklahoma Lefty who brought this Pastor to my attention...

We have seen time and time again how Democrats and those on the left simply change the meaning of words or their phrasing to trick people as in switching to the phrase "reducing the need for abortions" to avoid saying "reducing the number of abortions"... because to Democrats the two are not the same thing.
"Support the troops" by opposing their mission, their efforts and their success... on and on.

He calls his blog "Mainstream Baptist" ... but I submit he is anything but a mainstream Baptist. At least he's not like any of the Baptist preachers I have listened to for over 55 years now.

He preaches for total separation of state and church while combining his politics and religion.

He said in an interview...
"What passes today for being “conservative” is really theocratic. They want to repeal the First Amendment and return to the established state-churches of pre-revolutionary America."

Again, in my 55 years of attending services at Baptist churches..... I have NEVER heard anyone suggest returning America to established state-churches of pre-revolutionary America.... NOR have I EVER heard any conservative or Republican suggest any such thing.
In fact conservatives are for LESS government in our lives... not more. Government run churches are the last thing any conservative would desire.

This post, written by Dr. Bruce Prescott, originally appeared on Mainstream Baptist

Raw Story is reporting that Washington insiders are saying that Vice President Chency is employing "an end run strategy" around President Bush and Secretary of Defense Gates in regard to policy with Iran.

Quoting Steve Clemons of the Washington Note:

The zinger of this information is the admission by this Cheney aide that Cheney himself is frustrated with President Bush and believes, much like Richard Perle, that Bush is making a disastrous mistake by aligning himself with the policy course that Condoleezza Rice, Bob Gates, Michael Hayden and McConnell have sculpted.
According to this official, Cheney believes that Bush can not be counted on to make the "right decision" when it comes to dealing with Iran and thus Cheney believes that he must tie the President's hands.

If this is true, it may be time to impeach Chency for "criminal insubordination."

Dr. Prescott.... a man who claims to be for separation of state and church yet wants to run the state from the pulpit and posts irresponsible untruths like the above at his blog suggesting impeachment? If he can't even spell the Vice President's name correctly how accurate is the rest of his stuff?

From what I can see, Dr Prescott is nothing more than a left-wing liberal Democrat tool posing as a Baptist minister.
I wonder if he knows Dr. Robin Meyers Oklahoma's pulpit pundit?

"That would be restoring George Bush's national security credentials, and it is an impressive accomplishment, indeed. He has basically adopted all of Bush's policies, with the notable exception of embracing the detention center at Guantanamo Bay.
On that subject, Bush was thoughtful and analytical (as always, in spite of what you mistakenly think), whereas Obama was as intellectually superficial as he was morally pompous. He still is.

Words Have Meaning... Except To Democrats

Thanks to Curt at Flopping Aces...
From Human Events.com

Ask nearly anyone, “What is Obama’s goal on abortion?”
They’ll answer, “Reduce the number of abortions.”

Not so, according to an Obama aid.

Melody Barnes, the Director of Domestic Policy Council-
“It is not our goal to reduce the number of abortions.... our goal is to reduce the need for abortions.”

Abortion advocates object to the phrase “reducing abortions.” It connotes that there is something bad or immoral about abortion.

The Los Angeles Times reported in 2004 that Democrats, after losing the presidential election, began rethinking their harsh, no compromise stance on abortion.
Their solution?

Change their "language" but not their position.

Howard Dean, then head of the Democratic National Committee, on abortion told NBC's Tim Russert: "We can change our vocabulary, but I don't think we ought to change our principles."

Illegal Immigrants Rioting Over Koran "Defacing"

Those on the left love to compare radical Islam with Christianity.
So someone please tell me the last time Christians entered a foreign country illegally in mass quantities, then started riots in that country over someone allegedly "defacing" one of their Bibles.

Muslim (Illegal) Migrants riot in Athens

  • Athens
  • May 24, 2009

Dozens of cars have been smashed, 14 people injured and 46 arrested in riots by Muslim migrants over the alleged defacing of a Koran by a policeman.

Police fired tear gas and stun grenades at hundreds of protesters outside Parliament in the city centre.

Police said they would investigate the allegation that an officer tore up an Iraqi migrant's Koran while checking his identity papers in Athens last week. "But this isolated incident cannot justify these acts of violence," said Interior Minister Christos Markoyiannakis.

Waves of illegal immigration in recent years have led to an influx of Muslims, mostly from Pakistan and Afghanistan, living in run-down parts of central Athens. Greek rights activist Thanassis Kourkoulas said the protest showed the migrants "have a voice".

Dick Cheney Takes On Obama, GOP Approval Ratings Jump

In a CNN popularity poll (yup CNN, lol) Dick Cheney is leading the Republican party to higher approval ratings since his decision to respond in kind to the Obama administration's unprecedented tactic of blaming and condemning a previous administration.

Mr. Cheney gave a speech a few days ago outlining how our policy of enhanced interrogation saved American lives without harming the person being interrogated (post below). The speech was planned months ahead. Upon learning this, the Obama administration announce the President would be giving a speech just prior to the former Vice President's speech.
A "preemptive strike", if you will.

It didn't work however as (according to the CNN poll) Dick Cheney's approval ratings jumped 8%... and in fact even George W Bush's approval ratings went UP after Cheney started refuting and rebutting claims made by the President and his staff.

Take a lesson REPUBLICANS... grow a pair and grow a spine.
America needs you and Dick Cheney has shown you the way...

(BTW- Notice how George W Bush is behaving like a former President SHOULD behave by not commenting on the next administration... giving them a chance to succeed (or fail) without his interference. Democrats could learn a lot of class and professionalism from this man... except they are NOT interested in "class" or professionalism are they?)

Obama Stimulus Failure Produces Record Unemployment

44 of 50 states reported the Obama stimulus plan has produced nothing ...but increased job losses, which some are saying is proof the stimulus plan is a horrible failure.

"WASHINGTON -- All but six states lost jobs in April and double-digit unemployment persisted in every corner of the country as companies squeezed by the recession slashed payrolls."
How bad is it?

"Nearly 6.7 million people nationwide are drawing state unemployment insurance, the highest on records dating to 1967."

Get Ready For Jimmy Carter Part 2 - Inflation and Unemployment

"The time was October of 1982, and on October 9th of that year Fed Chairman Volcker finally abandoned the monetarist approach to Fed policy that had proven so disastrous."

"A Carter appointee, Fed Chairman Paul Volcker’s attempts to use interest-rate increases to slay inflation in the late ‘70s were met with a great deal more inflation."

The time is now May of 2009, and Democrats are repeating themselves and history...

“The economy may be at greater risk of inflation than the conventional wisdom indicates,”-
-May 22, 2009 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve Bank President Charles Plosser.

- 5/18/2009 (Brookes News) -
"Never before has the Fed acted so recklessly with the money supply. However, Bernanke knows that this must lead to surging inflation and if not halted, a collapsing dollar and rocketing interest rates."
"It is interesting though that Democrats believe additional regulations, more taxes and greater spending are the solution to every problem — particularly the ones they create."
"Taxes will hit savings and investments and they will strike at productivity. Regulations will greatly restrict energy production and raise prices. This in turn will curb production and raise unemployment and savage industry
." - 5/18/09 Obamanomics

Obama's economic policy is a recipe for lower living standards
"America faces two enormous problems: Bernanke and Obama. Bernanke is doing what he can to flood the economy with money. This can only lead to surging inflation, rising interest rates, current account problems and depreciation. Obama's spending, taxing and regulatory policies amount to an assault on capital accumulation. Unless he abandons these destructive policies any inflationary recovery engineered by Bernanke will be short-lived and possibly followed by a distinct fall in living standards".

Why the Fed is frustrated with low price inflation
"The CPI is thwarting the Fed's attempts to bring about a regime of negative interest rates. Nevertheless the Fed's monetary pumping remains massive. The yearly rate of growth of the Fed's balance sheet stood at 139.2 per cent in April versus 122.6 per cent in the month before. The fallacious economics that is driving Fed policy will have dire consequences for the economy."

Obama is taking the US economy down the disastrous UK road
"The British Labour Government has driven the UK to the brink of bankruptcy. Taxes are rising, the public debt will 80 per cent of GDP this year and unemployment is inexorably rising. His solution is to flood the economy with money. What should unnerve Americans is that Obama's economic policies are basically the same: massive spending, massive borrowing and massive monetary expansion."

Carbon capture and burial — a recipe
for economic destruction

"Carbon taxes in any form are weapons of mass economic destruction. If implemented they will devastate living standards by destroying masses of capital. Energy prices will soar, real wages will dive and unemployment will rocket."

For those of you who fail to understand what this means to you personally... imagine for a second that everything you buy, food, beverages, gas, energy, clothing, household goods and supplies... everything, DOUBLES in price but your income stays the same, or worse goes down. Imagine that the money in your wallet or checking account right now suddenly only purchases one-half of what it did yesterday.
Get the idea?

Vote Republican 2010 and turn this boat around before we hit more icebergs.
Vote for "change".

President Obama and Dick Cheney each gave dueling speeches on how to fight the War on Terror.... (err manmade disasters). The Cheney speech was planned months ahead... Obama's was a last minute preemptive strike.

The text of Obama's speech is here and Cheney's speech is here.

One man is not running for any political office and openly describing why America has not been attacked since 2001.
The other man is a career politician on a never-ending campaign trail who believes that the attack on 9-11-2001 was merely a "one-off event" and that Gitmo actually caused terrorism (errr manmade disasters) which happened years before Gitmo existed, meanwhile no attacks have happened on US soil since Gitmo's existence... partially due to information gathered from detainees at that facility.

Obama says there are no terrorists now that Cheney and Bush are gone and He is President...
Cheney says there are fewer terrorists now because of he and Bush and more alive Americans as well...
You be the judge, it's not rocket surgery.

Interesting quotes from the two speeches...

"The administration seems to pride itself on searching for some kind of middle ground in policies addressing terrorism. They may take comfort in hearing disagreement from opposite ends of the spectrum. If liberals are unhappy about some decisions, and conservatives are unhappy about other decisions, then it may seem to them that the President is on the path of sensible compromise. But in the fight against terrorism, there is no middle ground, and half-measures keep you half exposed. You cannot keep just some nuclear-armed terrorists out of the United States, you must keep every nuclear-armed terrorist out of the United States. Triangulation is a political strategy, not a national security strategy. When just a single clue that goes unlearned … one lead that goes unpursued … can bring on catastrophe – it’s no time for splitting differences. There is never a good time to compromise when the lives and safety of the American people are in the balance." -Dick Cheney

And...

"Neither I nor anyone else can standing here today can say that there will not be another terrorist attack that takes American lives. But I can say with certainty that my Administration – along with our extraordinary troops and the patriotic men and women who defend our national security – will do everything in our power to keep the American people safe." - Barack H Obama

If there is another attack... did we do "everything in our power to keep the American people safe (?)" will obviously fall squarely on the President's shoulders.

Jesse Ventura: "Why Didn't We Waterboard McVeigh and Nichols"?

Jesse "the Body" Ventura visited the View and shocked Elizabeth Hasselbeck by talking non-sense:“If waterboarding is okay, why didn’t we waterboard [Timothy] McVeigh and [Terry] Nichols, the Oklahoma City bombers, to find out if there were more people involved? What’s your answer to that?”

Simple Jesse... McVeigh and Nichols weren't picked up on a foreign battle field attacking US troops during a time of war, but were arrested by police and charged with crimes in the U.S.

You see Jesse (and other morons), there is this thing called war... we don't fight wars with policemen and lawyers, in war... Jesse, you don't have a pre-determined outcome like pro-wrestling and in war Jesse, people actually get hurt and killed... real blood and everything Jesse, in war Jesse we do everything we can to save American lives Jesse.

BTW- Can you name one single incident where anyone has EVER been injured in any way even so much as a paper cut or even caught a cold from waterboarding?

It is not wrong to make people think you got hurt if nobody actually get's hurt Jesse... remember? You made a career doing just that.

PS- But since you asked, perhaps if we had water-boarded McVeigh.... he might have talked.. and made a deal... and perhaps it would have saved his life, Jesse. What is your answer to that?

Emote Less; Think More

The difference between a reasonable liberal and reasonable conservative is that a reasonable liberal leans a bit one way, whereas a reasonable conservative leans a bit the other way. By the time relatively minor policy differences bubble up to the superficial coverage provided by the mainstream media, they become greatly magnified and seem vastly more consequential than they really are. Setting aside a few hot button issues where compromise can be hard to find (e.g., abortion), the battle is fought between the 40 yard lines (as Charles Krauthammer once put it), not from one end-zone to the other. But that's not how it seems when people get politically hysterical, which they often do. Nowhere was this more apparent than when people were angrily accusing George Bush of "trampling on the Constitution" with his "imperial presidency."

If you really believed that the last election was about fundamental change -- as opposed to a fairly reasonable liberal moving the line a tad farther to the left -- then you should really take a tour through the many ways in which Obama is just like Bush.
And when you do, you should think about what it means for your own proclivity to descend into spasms of anger and hysteria over George Bush's national security policies.

There is a lesson in the stories summarized below, and the lesson is that no matter how smart you think you are, if you were beside yourself with anger as you watched George Bush trample on the Constitution over the last 8 years, then you are a relatively superficial thinker when it comes to politics.
You don't think so?
Then look at how Obama is behaving, and take it as an invitation to emote less and think more:

Where's Our Bailout? -A Socialist Stimulus Plan

At a February 26 press conference, President Obama said: "There are times when you can decorate your home and there are times when you have to fix its foundation. Today we are fixing the foundation."

Do the president’s policies amount to “fixing the foundation” of our economy?

The $787 billion stimulus package includes spending on infrastructure projects, schools, aid to states facing massive budget deficits, extending unemployment relief, and more. Obama’s $3.6 trillion budget includes a 7.5% increase for Health and Human Services; 34.6% increase for the Environmental Protection Agency; 18.5% increase for Housing and Urban Development; and a 12.8% increase for Education.

Many workers and young people undoubtedly will view these policies as a relief and a departure from eight years of the disastrous Bush Administration.

The Nation magazine calls the budget proposal “an audacious plan to transform America.” Financial Times Columnist Clive Crook calls Obama’s proposals “a liberal’s dream of a new New Deal.”

The stimulus package and Obama’s budget do represent a real shift in approach from the free-market fundamentalism that has dominated policy since the 1980s, which reached extreme heights under Bush. Obama’s policies will likely ease some of the suffering – and the anger – created by the collapse of the capitalist economy.

But all is not roses and cherries among the impatient and over anxious socialists eager to go from zero to communism in 100 days...

Why is the Obama Administration so hesitant to redistribute the wealth and restimulate demand?
While free-market fundamentalism is now widely discredited in Washington, Democratic Party leaders remain fundamentally beholden to big business, which funds their careers and party institutions.
They refuse to take measures that would truly stop the economic decline because that would necessitate a drastic redistribution of wealth and economic power to working-class people.

The Socialists are cheering for the accomplishments of "the One" but trying not to blow his cover.

We need a socialist program to end the economic crisis and safeguard workers’ living standards, and a fighting strategy to make this program a reality.

A genuine public works program employing tens of millions under union wages and conditions. No hand-outs to private contractors, now a major recipient of stimulus money, who skim off fat profits at the expense of workers’ wages and benefits.

No more layoffs! Take failing industries into public ownership under the democratic control of representatives of the workers and the broader community, and retool them towards socially necessary and green production.

$12.50/hr minimum wage or $500/week minimum income.

No foreclosures or evictions! There are too many empty homes and too many homeless! Renters or homeowners should be allowed to live in their homes at affordable rents or mortgages.

Pass the Employee Free Choice Act to empower union organizing. This will make it easier for workers to use their collective power to fight back against cuts in pay and benefits.

A single-payer universal healthcare system. No more profiteering off of our healthcare!
Free quality education from pre-school through college.

How do they propose to pay for all this free stuff?
  • End the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bring all the troops home now!
  • Slash the military budget, which will go up 24% to $689 billion in 2012 under Obama.
  • Use the money saved to plug state and local budget deficits, stop cuts in education and social services, and stop layoffs of public workers.
  • Nationalize the banks under democratic control by elected representatives of small depositors, pension funds, bank workers, and the wider public.
  • Massive increase in taxes on the rich.
  • Draw up a national economic plan on the basis of human need and not profit, to be run by democratically elected councils of workers and consumers.
Gee... where could anyone have gotten the idea that Obama and Democrats have gone socialist?

Breaking News, Joe Biden Speaks.... possible leaks, gaffes and lies ahead

Karl Rove: "Our President Isn't Quite as Advertised"

Guest editorial from the Wall Street Journal- "Flip-flops and Governance"

Barack Obama inherited a set of national-security policies that he rejected during the campaign but now embraces as president. This is a stunning and welcome about-face.

For example, President Obama kept George W. Bush's military tribunals for terror detainees after calling them an "enormous failure" and a "legal black hole." His campaign claimed last summer that "court systems . . . are capable of convicting terrorists." Upon entering office, he found out they aren't.

He insisted in an interview with NBC in 2007 that Congress mandate "consequences" for "a failure to meet various benchmarks and milestones" on aid to Iraq. Earlier this month he fought off legislatively mandated benchmarks in the $97 billion funding bill for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama agreed on April 23 to American Civil Liberties Union demands to release investigative photos of detainee abuse. Now's he reversed himself. Pentagon officials apparently convinced him that releasing the photos would increase the risk to U.S. troops and civilian personnel.

Throughout his presidential campaign, Mr. Obama excoriated Mr. Bush's counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq, insisting it could not succeed. Earlier this year, facing increasing violence in Afghanistan, Mr. Obama rejected warnings of a "quagmire" and ordered more troops to that country. He isn't calling it a "surge" but that's what it is. He is applying in Afghanistan the counterinsurgency strategy Mr. Bush used in Iraq.

As a candidate, Mr. Obama promised to end the Iraq war by withdrawing all troops by March 2009. As president, he set a slower pace of drawdown. He has also said he will leave as many as 50,000 Americans troops there.

These reversals are both praiseworthy and evidence that, when it comes to national security, being briefed on terror threats as president is a lot different than placating MoveOn.org and Code Pink activists as a candidate. The realities of governing trump the realities of campaigning.

We are also seeing Mr. Obama reverse himself on the domestic front, but this time in a manner that will do more harm than good.

Mr. Obama campaigned on "responsible fiscal policies," arguing in a speech on the Senate floor in 2006 that the "rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy." In his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, he pledged to "go through the federal budget line by line, eliminating programs that no longer work." Even now, he says he'll "cut the deficit . . . by half by the end of his first term in office" and is "rooting out waste and abuse" in the budget.

However, Mr. Obama's fiscally conservative words are betrayed by his liberal actions. He offers an orgy of spending and a bacchanal of debt. His budget plans a 25% increase in the federal government's share of the GDP, a doubling of the national debt in five years, and a near tripling of it in 10 years.

On health care, Mr. Obama's election ads decried "government-run health care" as "extreme," saying it would lead to "higher costs." Now he is promoting a plan that would result in a de facto government-run health-care system. Even the Washington Post questions it, saying, "It is difficult to imagine . . . benefits from a government-run system."

Making adjustments in office is one thing. Constantly governing in direct opposition to what you said as a candidate is something else. Mr. Obama's flip-flops on national security have been wise; on the domestic front, they have been harmful.

In both cases, though, we have learned something about Mr. Obama. What animated him during the campaign is what historian Forrest McDonald once called "the projection of appealing images." All politicians want to project an appealing image. What Mr. McDonald warned against is focusing on this so much that an appealing image "becomes a self-sustaining end unto itself." Such an approach can work in a campaign, as Mr. Obama discovered. But it can also complicate life once elected, as he is finding out.

Mr. Obama's appealing campaign images turned out to have been fleeting. He ran hard to the left on national security to win the nomination, only to discover the campaign commitments he made were shallow and at odds with America's security interests.

Mr. Obama ran hard to the center on economic issues to win the general election. He has since discovered his campaign commitments were obstacles to ramming through the most ideologically liberal economic agenda since the Great Society.

Mr. Obama either had very little grasp of what governing would involve or, if he did, he used words meant to mislead the public. Neither option is particularly encouraging. America now has a president quite different from the person who advertised himself for the job last year. Over time, those things can catch up to a politician.

Mr. Rove is the former senior adviser and deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush.

Back To The Future All Over Again or You Can't Make a Roller Skate Safe at 70mph

I remember the last time the government (under Jimmy Carter) decided to "fix" the US auto industry by setting strict new emissions and mileage requirements....

The only way to get better mileage and lower emissions was to reduce the weight and size of the vehicle... and we got the Ford Pinto and other small lightweight lawnmowers with windows like the Vega and Chevette and Dodge Colt.

The Pinto was found to be unsafe due to gas tank fires from virtually any rear collision, the Vega, Chevette, Colt and the entire new generation of smaller, lighter, cars were of course found to be much less safe in an accident than full size cars and trucks.

America rejected the undersized, underpowered, over dangerous mini-cars and went back to big V8 powered SUV's trucks and most recently we even saw the return of the muscle cars such as Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Charger etc.
But alas...

Now it's "Back to the Future" and "Groundhog Day" ..."all over again".

Obama's new rules will transform US auto fleet...

President to set standards of car emissions...

Consumers face higher prices...

Safety could suffer...

First 100 Days of Sarah Palin's Presidency...

Thanks to Mike's America at Flopping Aces...

Imagine how the “news” media would report the same facts of the Obama Administration if it was the Palin Administration.... actually you don't have to imagine it....

The always brilliant Victor Davis Hanson scored again with his May 15th column at National Review online: President Palin’s First 100 Days. Here’s a teaser:

LET THEM EAT MOOSE“Ted Stevens may have gotten off,” wrote Bob Herbert in the New York Times, “but he taught our Sarah something first — like using $100-a-pound beef for her state dinners. And what’s this $50 mil for her inauguration gala? Since when do you fly in your favorite pizza-maker from across the country on our dime? Or send the presidential 747 for a spin over the Big Apple for a third-of-a-million-dollar joyride? Does Palin think she’s still in Alaska and has to have everything flown in from the South 48 by jumbo jet?”

WASILLA CHIC Also in the Times, Gail Collins weighed in on the already-tired yokelism of the new commander in chief. “What we’re getting is Wasilla chic. That’s what we’re getting. She arrives in the Oval Office, and first thing sends back Blair’s gift of the Churchill bust as if it’s a once-worn Penney’s outfit. Then she gives the Brits some unwatchable DVDs as a booby prize — as if she idled the old Yukon and ran into Target’s sale aisle. Did Sarah send Bristol into Wal-Mart back in Anchorage for that ‘engraved’ iPod for the queen? And what’s this don’t-bow-to-the-queen stuff, but curtsy for a Saudi sheik? Maybe that explains why she brags to Stephanopoulos about her ‘Muslim faith.’ So far, the best things going for her are Todd’s biceps.”

You’ll want to read it all here.

Clinton, Democrat Culture of Corruption Coming Home to Roost

Democratic Fundraiser Convicted of Corruption
NEW YORK (AP) - Longtime fundraiser Norman Hsu was convicted Tuesday of violating campaign finance laws in a case that became an embarrassment to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and other prominent Democrats he courted.

Jurors also heard testimony from several other investors who recounted how Hsu showed off his political connections by decorating his home with photos of himself with marquee Democrats. One witness testified she met President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, President Bill Clinton, Sen. John Kerry, Sen. Ted Kennedy and Rep. Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island at fundraisers she attended with him.

Prosecutors played a voicemail recording of Clinton, then a senator, effusively praising Hsu for his loyal support.

"I've never seen anybody who has been more loyal and more effective and really just having greater success supporting someone than you," she told him. "Everywhere I go, you're there. If you're not, you're sending people to be part of my events. You know, we're going to win this campaign, Norman, because you single-handedly are going to make that happen." - Hillary Clinton

Obama Wrong or Lied to Notre Dame Students: "War is Deceipt" vs "The Golden Rule"

Flopping Aces makes some excellent but very concerning points regarding statements President Barack Hussein Obama made during his speech to students at Notre Dame University. Obama who is very familiar with Islam, compared Christianity and other religions "Golden Rule" (do unto others as you would have others do unto you) with the teachings of Islam as one and the same. It turns out that couldn't be farther from the truth.

These remarks when reviewed against the facts make me wonder if the President was simply wrong or is intentionally deceiving the world.

From Flopping Aces...

From Obama’s Notre Dame speech:

For if there is one law that we can be most certain of, it is the law that binds people of all faiths and no faith together. It is no coincidence that it exists in Christianity and Judaism; in Islam and Hinduism; in Buddhism and humanism. It is, of course, the golden rule - the call to treat one another as we wish to be treated. The call to love. To serve. To do what we can to make a difference in the lives of those with whom we share the same brief moment on this earth.

So many of you at Notre Dame - by the last count, upwards of 80 percent - have lived this law of love through the service you’ve performed at schools and hospitals; international relief agencies and local charities.

In fact the Christian “law of love” (the Commandment of Jesus to “love your neighbor”) is explicitly universal. Asked “who is my neighbor,” Jesus answered with the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).

The Koran, in contrast, is explicit that its call to treat others in a loving way is NOT universal:

Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. [Koran verse 48.29]

O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed. [9.73]

The Koran is replete with instructions for carrying out this “law of hatred” as one might call it:

I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them. [8.12]

Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame…. [9.14]

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. [9.29]

Obama knows the Koran (Qur'an, Quran, Qu'ran)

Obama is fully aware that the Islamic version of the golden rule applies only to other Muslims. Not only did he study the Koran as a boy, but he even studied “menjaji,” which is the Indonesian term for recitation of the Koran in Arabic. Menjaji is the gold-standard of fundamentalist Islamic education. This is how Obama was able to recite the Shahada for NYT columnist Nicholas Kristof “with a first rate [Arabic] accent.” He was drilled on it.

The Shahada is the Islamic profession of faith: “I witness that there is no god but Allah; I witness that Muhammad is his prophet.” According to Sharia law, a single sincere utterance of this profession of faith constitutes conversion to Islam. The Shahada comes at the beginning of the Islamic call to prayer, which Obama recited for Kristof. Judge for yourself whether his utterance was sincere:

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”

Having drilled the Shahada as a boy, Obama certainly knew what it meant to recite these words to Kristof. Obama IS a Muslim.

If he were a moral Muslim, he would speak about the need for Islamic reform, instead of covering up the unpleasant truths of orthodox Islam. By hiding his own Islam, Obama is following another unpleasant truth about orthodox Islam: that it is a religion of deceit.

Tabari’s History recounts the story of Nuaym, a recent convert to Islam, who set Muhammad’s enemies against each other at the Battle of the Trench:

‘I ‘ve become a Muslim, but my tribe does not know of my Islam; so command me whatever you will.’ Muhammad said, ‘Make them abandon each other if you can so that they will leave us; for war is deception.’ [Tabari volume 8, p. 23. This incident is also recorded in Ishaq's Life of Muhammad, p. 458.]

Like Nuaym, Obama’s "tribe" does not know of his Islam either. (Well, his African tribe does, but his American tribe does not.) That is the price we pay for America’s Ignorance about Islam.

With just a little knowledge about Islam, we can even tell what kind of Muslim Obama is. His deceptions about Islam demonstrate that he is orthodox. He tells the same “religion of peace” lies that CAIR and other Muslim Brotherhood organizations tell.

When ignorant multi-culturalists call Islam a "religion of peace", they are just following their own injunction to respect every culture but western liberty (which they call oppressive). But Obama is not an ignorant multi-culturalist. He knows his Islam. When he calls Islam a religion of peace, the meaning is very clear: “war is deceit.”

GOP Needs To Keep Purging the RINO's that Cost them in 2006 and 2008

As Obama "outs" another Republican in name only Utah Governor Jon Huntsman (Rino) by naming him Ambassador to China.

"If it's 2012 and our party is defined by Palin and Limbaugh and Cheney, then we're headed for a blowout," says strategist John Weaver, who advised Huntsman and was for years a close adviser to Sen. John McCain.

Oh really?
And just how did the GOP do with media darling and moderate John "Maverick" McCain (who traveled with Joe Lieberman) as the candidate last November you bonehead?
Sarah Palin PREVENTED McCain from being blown-out much worse than he was as the polling clearly showed... McCain improved after picking Palin and continued to improve throughout the campaign with her onboard.
She saved McCain's butt from total embarrassment you braindead birdogs.

Now get out.... and stay out.

Republicans are NOT going to gain control of the legislature or the white house by trying to be almost like Democrats except not quite as much.
That's just stupid and horrible for the country.

"Anti-War Activists" Quiet as Sheep... or Mice, Maybe More Like Rats?

Thanks to Real Clear Politics-
Salena Zito at Real Clear Politics observes the partisan pickle peace-nicks are in right now...

"Little evidence exists that any antiwar movement is alive, well and influencing policy in this country. Certainly no voice for it is coming from Barack Obama's White House. In fact, Obama has been pretty consistent in jerking-around antiwar crusaders, beginning with last summer's vote as a U.S. senator for a federal surveillance law and its provision shielding telecommunications companies that cooperated in warrantless wiretaps - a law he previously opposed."

Salena points out how the President used the antiwar crowd to get himself elected, then turned on the anti-war crowd for his own political gain...

"The president reinforced his dismissal of antiwar activists last week, when he performed an enormous flip and decided to halt the release of photographs of detainee abuse. He said that releasing the photos would put U.S. troops at risk and inflame anti-American opinion.

On April 23, the Obama administration had said the Pentagon would hand over 44 photos of detainee abuse in Afghanistan and Iraq under the Bush administration."

The once rabid anti-war bunch are now forced to sit on their hands and shut their mouths while the guy they elected does the opposite of what he promised them....

"Less than two years ago, the liberal public-policy group MoveOn.org ran its now-infamous "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?" ad, accusing the four-star of exaggerating the success of the troop surge in Iraq.

Go to MoveOn.org's website today, and ending the war is fourth behind health care, climate change and the economy in its goals for 2009, buried in a nondescript click on the site."

"Where is Code Pink" - another liberal activist group - "or Moveon.org today?" asks political strategist Alex Castellanos. "Is it all okay if Barack Obama does it?"
"Being against the war was something the left used to draw a bright line between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama," he says. "But there is no cause now, because there was no cause then."
"While President Obama gingerly takes ownership of the war in Afghanistan - pumping up troop levels, hand-picking his own commander, adding Pakistan as part of the solution and the problem - he is disowning antiwar activists who voted for him, expecting him to put an end all wars."

Unfortunately for them, they have nowhere else to go, Castellanos says,

"So the noise you will hear from them will be voiceless."

Norma "Roe" McCorvey (of Roe v Wade fame) Arrested for Protesting.... ABORTION !

Yahoo News:

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Nearly 40 people were arrested Sunday as they tried to enter the University of Notre Dame to protest President Barack Obama's appearance at commencement, police said.

At least 39 people were taken into custody on trespassing charges, police Sgt. Bill Redman said.

Among those arrested were Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff identified as "Roe" in the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. She now opposes abortion.

Summary: The woman who won the Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion in the first place now opposes abortion and went to protest such at a Catholic University (Notre Dame) where the pro-abortion President Obama was speaking... and of course she get's arrested.

Remember folks, to those on the left there is no excuse for turning on them and disagreeing with them... in fact it looks like it is now a crime to do so.

Obama Considers Naming Dog "Miss California"

So there I was being nice and praising President Obama and stuff.... when I see this from Real Clear Politics.

Obama's Top Advisor Suggests First Family Name Dog "Miss California"

NYT: Senior Advisor to the president and former campaign consultant David Axelrod was the special guest on National Public Radio's “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” which made a road trip to George Washington University in the nation’s capital for an episode that will air this weekend. When Axelrod was asked if he had weighed in on the Obama family's dog choice, he answered, "I was only called in for the final three, and one was Miss California."

So let me get this straight... Miss California is asked a question about same sex marriage, gives the exact same answer the President gave to the same question... she even apologized to anyone who believed differently than herself....but then gets ridiculed, made fun of and is even suggested as the name of a dog by that same President.

And people wonder why I HATE the left sometimes.
There is not a bunch of meaner spirited intolerant hatemongers on the planet than those on the left.

President Obama Does The Right Thing, Deserves Credit

In an unprecedented move, President Barack Obama reversed himself, deciding to fight the release of photos purportedly showing humiliating treatment of detainees in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama also announced he would have some detainees at the U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, tried by military commissions, putting him at odds with much of his liberal political base, but winning striking praise from "rational thinking people" who contrasted his sober decisions against the accusations of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) that the CIA has lied to her and Congress continually.

In other news, a Washington Times Poll showed that only 6% of those polled believe Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) while 91% believe the CIA.

However... I understand that Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) must stick to her "anti-torture shtick" but the fact she didn't blow a whistle or say a word or object in any way to waterboarding etc. way back at the time when she first learned about it is remarkable, her silence provided the CIA time to perform the enhanced interrogation, her silence allowed the CIA to obtain critical information and her silence helped stop a terrorist attack on Los Angeles CA. perhaps saving thousands of lives.

As Rush Limbaugh pointed out... perhaps "San Fran Nan" deserves a hero's medal.

Madonna To Marry Jesus?

Fifty-something Madonna is now planning to "marry" twenty-something toyboy Jesus in some sort of Kabbalah ceremony. Father of the groom-to-be Luiz Heitor said "My understanding is that this is just a consequence of what is happening. He is already living with her."

"I don't know if there will be an actual wedding. From what I have read there could be a sort of ritual, but I don't know Kabbalah... to know if it's valid and legal."

My only question is which one is the adopted kid and which one is the new hubby?

Don't Wince. Fight!
Dick Cheney, Most Valuable Republican.
by William Kristol
05/25/2009, Volume 014, Issue 34

W
hen accused of being too aggressive on behalf of the United States at the United Nations, Daniel Patrick Moynihan was fond of repeating a French proverb: "Cet animal est fort méchant, / Quand on l'attaque il se défend." Imagine--an animal so mean that, when attacked, it defends itself!

When President Obama released the Justice Department interrogation memos a month ago, Cheney denounced him for doing so. He explained why it was inappropriate and unwise to release such documents. But he did more. He didn't just defend himself and the administration in which he served. He fought back, and encouraged others to do so.

He challenged the president to release CIA memos evaluating the effectiveness of the enhanced interrogation techniques. He raised the question of whether congressional Democrats--Nancy Pelosi, for one--had known of, and at least tacitly approved of, the allegedly horrifying abuses of the allegedly lawless Bush administration.

Now, a month later, Pelosi is attacking career CIA officials for lying to Congress, and other Democrats are scrambling to distance themselves from her. Meanwhile, the Obama administration has pulled back on threats to prosecute Bush-era lawyers, reversed itself on releasing photos of alleged military abuse of prisoners, and embraced the use of military commissions to try captured terrorists. The administration now looks irresponsible when it lives up to candidate Obama's rhetoric, and hypocritical when it vindicates Bush policies the candidate attacked.

Pelosi Explains Her Lies About CIA and Waterboarding: "It's Bush's Fault"

Meanwhile, (from Z Truth) the CIA director and former Clinton aid Leon Panetta stood with his agency after the allegations of lying were made against the CIA by Nancy Pelosi yesterday:

"Panetta who took office as President Obama's CIA chief in February, reasserted the agency's claim that it told congressional leaders about the use of such methods during a closed-door briefing in September 2002.

..."Our contemporaneous records from September 2002 indicate that CIA officers briefed truthfully on the interrogation of [suspected terrorist] Abu Zubaida, describing the 'enhanced techniques that had been employed,' " Panetta said.

New Gallop Poll: Majority of Americans Now Consider Themselves "Pro-life"

It's the first time since Gallup began asking the question 14 years ago that more don't say they're 'pro-choice' on abortion.
At a time when President Obama is trying to persuade opponents in the abortion battle that they can find middle ground -- in rhetoric, if not reality -- a new Gallup poll shows that more Americans describe themselves as "pro-life."

For the first time since it began asking the question in 1995, the Gallup Poll reported Thursday, 51% of the American adults questioned for its annual Values and Beliefs survey said that when it comes to abortion, they consider themselves "pro-life." Forty-two percent consider themselves "pro-choice."

"I think this administration has fundamentally miscalculated how out of step they are with the American people on the abortion issue." -Charmaine Yoest, president of Americans United for Life.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the Obama era, the tide is starting to shift, the pendulum starting to swing back to the right as abortion is the cornerstone of the Democrat party. Gun owners are starting to revolt and push back, the tea parties are growing as Americans are fed up with tax increases and out of control spending, the Christian right is rising up against policy after policy that offends the senses.... hide and watch folks, 2010 and 2012 are gonna be open season on Democrats.

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, It's Time for Pelosi to Go

It's time for Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to resign, step down, quit, get out, get lost and hide in shame over her lies about what she knew and when she knew it regarding waterboarding KSM and two other detainees at club Gitmo.

Hey Okie Funk... My Land is NOT Your Land

"This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land"

No... it isn't.
If you don't believe me, take a drive out to Choctaw and notice the "no trespassing" signs on my private property.

Funk laments...
"The recession has finally come to Oklahoma, and the looming question is whether the state can get through this fiscal year without budget cuts."

Obama's stimulus plan hits Oklahoma and the looming question is why Kurt cares more about state budget cuts than he does about how Oklahoma residents themselves are going to get by... perhaps that is because his teachers salary comes from the government and he has a little self interest problem which overrides his logic.

Someone tell me what is wrong with the government cutting it's overblown budget and wasteful spending when the rest of us are forced to cut our measly budgets?

Not in Funk's world though... government spending and his paycheck come first.
If Funk believes what he writes... then he should give back about half of his fat check to help even out the gap between himself and the poor he claims to care about.

Entitlement: The New Patriotism?

I was born in America (or I broke in illegally), either way... I am entitled to free healthcare and a job that pays exactly the same as my neighbors earn... not more-not less.
I am entitled to free energy to heat and cool my free home and I deserve transportation provided to get to and from my government mandated job where my boss makes the same as I do.

I was born an American (or snuck in) so I deserve to retire with the same income and style as everyone else no matter what I did for a living or how long I worked, I was born in America so the government is the answer to all my needs, wants, hopes and desires... success comes from the government not from within myself. The government is there to make life fair for me.

I was born an American (or know someone who was) so apparently I should get to purchase things that I cannot afford and expect the government to bail me out.
I am an American so I should not have to defend freedom, liberty and justice.... we have the government to do that for us.
I am an American and benefit from this, so therefore people from other countries should be able to come here freely without question or limits and benefit from our riches, use our schools, use our free hospitals, roads and services without having to pay taxes or become a citizen too.

I am an American (or from a country nearby) so I should do everything in my power to make America less like America and more like countries that have failed or are failing.
I am an American (ashamed of our past) so I should embrace socialism and denounce capitalism for the good of all. I should abandon all self interest completely and only concentrate helping others, for only by helping others can I help myself... according to our President himself.
I am an American so I am being forced to support things I know to be wrong like abortion and homosexual marriage... for the good of the many, we must sacrifice the unborn and abandon the traditional family unit that made this country strong and great.

Apparently, I should not dream of owning my own business because making a profit is evil, capitalism is evil and only causes greed and corruption because my success makes others poor.

Wait a minute... Say's Who?
I AM an American.... and I remember that "we the people" are the government... not the other way around.
I remember that millions have died so I can be free to make of my life whatever I desire.
Only the power of the individual and the family unit can keep this country strong.
I have learned that only after I succeed, can I help others.
I remember that only by limiting government growth can my (and your) freedoms be secure.
I have been to VA hospitals and seen government healthcare- it is the worst.
I have been to the drivers license and tag agency and have also seen government run transportation and it sucks.
I have seen what government does with our money... the waste, the corruption and the fraud and understand that I am best qualified to determine where I work, when I work and how much I earn.. and I am best suited to determine what I spend my hard-earned money on, not some fat-cat bureaucrat in Washington and certainly not a bunch of socialist liberals hell-bent on turning us all into mindless drones dependent on the government for everything.

Vote Republican in 2010 and 2012 and stop the zomby invasion of socialism.

Leftist's Blueprint for GOP

Lib's and lefties love telling conservatives how we should (or shouldn't) be living our lives... and meanwhile claim it is conservatives who want to control everyone as lefties tell you what kind of car to drive, what color of car to drive, what fuel to run in your car, when to drive it, how you must heat your home, what to eat, what to think and what you can and cannot say, when and where you can and cannot pray... and if you don't agree with them... even if you are in the majority... they will just tax it (or you) out of existence.

If we conservatives would just give up our old worn out ways... throw down our guns and burn our Bibles, discard traditions like marriage and traditional family values and all become homosexuals, go on an unborn baby-killing frenzy, park our cars and SUV's forever, turn over all profits to the government to help the lazy, throw the rich under the bus and back it over them, throw the constitution under the bus and back over it, trash the individual for the sake of the masses, convert our homes to total electric, convert private property to government property for the good of the masses, use only one-square of toilet paper and stop fighting back against our enemies who really just want to be our friends before they destroy and kill us.... tax the rich and feed the poor till there are no rich no more... then, maybe... just maybe we would be acceptable conservatives then?

"Smoking Gun" Memo Discloses how Global Warming Remedies are Political, not Scientific

Thanks to Mike's America at Flopping Aces

Classifying CO2 as a dangerous pollutant makes about as much sense as asking people not to exhale!

In April, Lisa Jackson, Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (full disclosure: I worked for EPA in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s) signed a finding which declares that “greenhouse gases pose a threat to the health and welfare of current and future generations of Americans.”

It’s one of many steps to advance the political agenda of the global warming movement by giving the federal government more power to regulate and tax CO2 emissions in the lives of every day Americans by calling the gas a dangerous “pollutant.” Since each of us exhales CO2, that makes each of us polluters.

As support for the global warming agenda continues to melt faster than an iceberg in July, Democrats appear hell bent on ramming through the most massive and expensive restructuring of our way of life ever contemplated.

Yet, an internal Obama Administration memo from the Office of Management and Budget highlights the concerns from various federal agencies asked to respond to the proposed finding. It’s a bombshell document (PDF here) just waiting for someone to light the fuse.

Wyoming Senator John Barrasso(R) Rides to the Rescue

On Tuesday, Senator Barrasso lite that fuse. In another fine example of an elected GOP leader fighting back effectively against the leftwing moonbattery that is so in vogue in Washington these days, Senator John Brasso had this exchange with EPA Administrator Jackson:

Democrats: Ignorant, Stupid or Liars? You Make The Call

Democrats always want to have it both ways... maybe they just can't make up their minds or are actually that stupid ...or are are they pathological liars?

On Iraq- Democrats overwhelmingly voted to approve war in Iraq just before they claimed they were always against the war in Iraq.
On Funding- "I voted for the funding the troops before I voted against it" - John Kerry
On Enhanced Interrogation- Nancy Pelosi and top Democrats were briefed completely on waterboarding and approved it before they claimed they don't know anything about waterboarding and are against it.

On the Housing industry... Democrats were against Republican led proposals to reform and regulate the Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac housing programs that Barney Frank (D) and company were in charge of BEFORE the same Democrats called for reforming and regulating the Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac programs after they caused the housing crisis and mortgage loan meltdown by mandating loans to people who weren't qualified in the first place... now the same Democrats come running in pretending to save the day with free money and no accountability or oversight.

On the Auto Industry... While repeating over and over that he has no intention of running the Auto industry, President Obama fired the CEO, cut Chrysler's advertising budgets in half and called for closing of 25% of all dealerships while increasing the role and power of Unions which caused the auto failure in the first place.

But the Democrats aren't content with instantly contradicting themselves, if an idea doesn't fly the first time... just change the name and run it again.

"Global Warming"....? no, "Climate Change"...? no, "Our Deteriorating Atmosphere"...

It shouldn't come as any surprise however considering it comes from the same bunch that gives us reverse logic to solve the so-called energy crisis.

Democrats plan to end our dependence on foreign oil by NOT drilling and refining our own oil and gasoline. Brilliant.
Meanwhile the Democrats are legislating fossil fuels out of the market and mandating the use of less efficient, less cost effective, unproven "alternative" fuels and mostly hoping a new magic fuel will simply appear (providing we just quit using evil oil).

Good Sense, America Needs Duncan Hunter

GOP Blueprint for Success Requires Belief, Patience and Courage

Thanks to North Star Writers Group-

David Karki lays out his advice for the GOP.

"Say 'no,' dispute and/or demonstrate the faultyness of the liberal premise, and offer a conservative alternative. This is not difficult, and we should have no fear in embracing the task. In many cases, liberal over-reach has all but placed the baseball on a tee for us to swing at."

For example: Global warming. Our line should be that even if the wrongful diagnosis were correct, the proposed treatment of “cap and trade” is utterly unconstitutional and would be catastrophically disastrous beyond all measure. That it's a hoax perpetrated solely to justify unthinkable intrusion on individual personal liberty makes it all the worse, but that's mostly beside the point for our immediate purposes.

Conservatives should easily be able to appeal to anyone's desire to choose their own toilet capacity, shower-head flow, light bulb type, TV type or vehicle color (or vehicle at all), and not have Rep. Henry "Nosferatu" Waxman and the enviro-wackos dictate all that to them – and have no problem whatsoever pointing out the evil insanity of such flagrant totalitarianism.

Similarly, it should be easy to torch the liberal lunacy that one can ban coal, oil and nuclear power and yet still create enough electricity from solar and wind to supply current usage plus the enormous increase in demand required by the electric vehicle fleet they'd force upon us. This is to modern living standards what bleeding with leeches once was to medicine.

Then follow with the conservative alternative: We have a plentiful supply of domestic energy resources, which can be retrieved with minimal to no environmental impact, and Democrats are putting it all off limits. Let's go get it. And when it comes to personal choices in domestic hardware, government should butt the hell out.

National defense is even easier. Cutting the military, letting terrorists go free, kissing our enemies' butts and apologizing to everyone is no way to keep anyone safe. Naïvely thinking you can make people like you, and projecting an image of abject weakness, is in fact the best way to ensure we're attacked again. The alternative? Having the strongest military possible, killing terrorists, making our enemies fear rather than like us, and letting our “friends” know that America isn't co-dependent on their approval.

Taxes are the easiest of all – “no” to hikes, “yes” to tax cuts, because it’s your money and not the government's. If President Obama wants domestic business to stay, cut the world's second highest corporate income tax instead of further punishing those who leave, which will only hasten their departure and make America ever less competitive in comparison to the rest of the world. (Not to mention that this mostly gets passed on to consumers in higher prices, so he's entirely missing his target anyway.)

These are softballs lobbed up to the plate that should be swung at with Ruthian clouts and smacked out of the park with ease. Dispute the liberal premise, offer the conservative alternative and let the listener complete the logic for himself.

But there are three pre-requisites for all the above: Belief, patience and courage.

Belief, in that far too many GOP higher-ups don't really believe in conservatism. One only diligently goes to the mat for that which one truly and fully believes in one's heart. By definition, no Republican In Name Only can effectively do this. And I doubt any will.

Patience, in that it will take much sowing before we see much reaping. But, like the parables of the lost sheep and lost coin, each soul gained is priceless. We should take more joy in each one won to conservatism than in 99 who need no such convincing.

And courage, in that we have seen what has been visited upon those whom the left cannot defeat via their usual methods and who thus pose a real threat to their power and hegemony – Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, George W. Bush vis-a-vis Florida 2000, Sarah Palin and, most recently (of all people), Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA: A ferocious hate belched up seemingly from deep within the bowels of hell itself. If any of us reach that point of real success, we too will need courage to withstand such an inevitable and withering assault."

"As the Founders pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor in order to bequeath us this Republic, so too must we pledge ours if we are to keep it."

Democrat Logic: Cut Advertising and Close Dealerships to Increase Sales

Barack Hussein Obama, the man who has never sold a car or anything else, has never worked on a car or anything else or has never even held a real job of any kind, plans to increase sales at "Government Motors" (Chrysler) by cutting the advertising budget in half and by closing over 1/4th of the dealerships nationwide.

Wow.
Cutting advertising in half and closing one-fourth of the dealerships to increase sales..... hmmmm

Only in Democratland.

Pretty soon buying a car will be just as much fun as getting your license plates... take a number, get lousy service and go home with a pile of worthless tin.

Remember that GM and Toyota sold about the same number of cars last year but GM lost money on each car while Toyota made money on each car. GM lost money due to excessive and destructive Union policies and influence which drove up mfg costs... Obama plans to increase Union control, cut advertising spending and close down dealerships. That's the ticket for stimulating the economy and creating jobs... this according to the man who has never had a job much less create one.

"The Donald" Makes the Right Call on Miss California

Trump: "Miss California and the President share opposition to Same Sex Marriage"

"She gave an honorable answer. She gave an answer from heart and I think for that, she has to be commended." - Donald Trump

Pat Buchanan's Blueprint for Success

"WANTED: A Fighting Party"

By Patrick Buchanan (emphasis mine)

World Net Daily

As was evident at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it is deja vu, 1961, all over again. We have a young, cool, witty, personable president – and an adoring press corps.

"I am Barack Obama," the president introduced himself. "Most of you covered me. All of you voted for me. (Laughter and applause.) Apologies to the Fox table. (Laughter.)"

What is also evident is that, without its new superstar in the lineup, the Democratic Party is a second-division ball club. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are not terribly formidable. Last fall, the Congress they ran had an approval rating below Vice President Cheney.

Why then is the Republican Party agonizing publicly over what it is supposed to do? If history is any guide, the pendulum will swing back in 2010.

After all, in 1952, Eisenhower was elected in a more impressive victory than Obama's, and ended the Korean War by June. And, in 1954, he lost both houses of Congress.

Lyndon Johnson crushed Goldwater by three times the margin of Obama's victory. He got Medicare, Medicaid, voting rights and a host of Great Society programs. And, in 1966, he lost 47 House seats.

Ronald Reagan won a 44-state landslide in 1980, cut tax rates – and proceeded to lose 26 seats in 1982.

Bill Clinton recaptured the presidency for his party in 1992 after 12 years of Republican rule. In 1994, he lost 52 seats and both houses of Congress.

Though, demographically, the nation is tilting toward the Party of Government, the GOP must remain the party of free enterprise, and should follow the counsel of Australia's Robert Menzies, long ago:

"(T)he duty of an opposition ... is to oppose selectively. No government is always wrong on everything. … The opposition must choose the ground on which it is to attack. To attack indiscriminately is to risk public opinion, which has a reserve of fairness not always understood."

Rather than debating what the national party position should be on foreign policy, health care, education, or social issues – which the party will decide when it chooses a nominee in 2012 – the GOP should focus now, and unite now, on what it will stand against.

Here the party has a good start. With the exception of Specter the Defector and the ladies from Maine, it united against the $800 billion stimulus bill. And as it is impossible to shovel out an added 6 percent of GDP in two years, without vast waste, fraud and abuse, this stimulus package is going to come back and bite Obama by 2010.

And, recall, in his address to Congress, Obama assigned Joe Biden to see to it there was no waste, fraud or abuse in spending the $800 billion: "And that's why I've asked Vice President Biden to lead a tough, unprecedented oversight effort – because nobody messes with Joe."

Joe has been set up to take the fall.

The next place to take a stand is against "cap and trade."

More and more Americans are coming to conclude, after the record cold temperatures in many cities this winter, that global warning is a crock – that there is no conclusive proof it is happening, no conclusive proof man is the cause, no conclusive proof it would be a calamity for us or the polar bears.

But cap and trade would mean a huge hike in the cost of energy for all Americans, the shutdown of fuel-efficient U.S. factories, and their replacement by dirtier and less fuel-efficient Chinese plants.

And we do know the agenda here is a vast transfer of wealth and power from U.S. citizens to government bureaucrats, and from the U.S. government to global bureaucrats who will run the oversight and enforcement machinery set up by the Kyoto II conclave in Copenhagen.

A third issue on which Republicans ought to stand and fight is health care. For the end goal of Obamacare is the same end goal as Hillarycare: nationalization, bureaucrats deciding what care each of us shall receive, when we may receive it, and whether we even ought to have it.

If the Republican Party remains the party of the individual and the private sector, does it have any choice but to fight?

For if cap-and-trade passes, and Obamacare becomes law, the government share of GDP rises to European socialist levels, and, as we saw after the Great Society, there is no going back.

A party defines itself by what it stands for, and what it stands against. After the Bush era, the Republican Party has been given the opportunity to redeem and redefine itself – in opposition to a party and a president who are further left than any in American history.

A true conservative party would relish such an opportunity.

After all, the Goldwater young did not lie down and die after a defeat far more crushing than the one the party suffered last fall.

Is this Republican Party made of similar stuff?"

Obama Considering Excise Tax on Your Soda, Fruit Drinks, Energy Drinks, Sports Drinks and Teas, Including Diet Drinks

Thanks to Scott at Flopping Aces-

"Senate leaders are considering new federal taxes on soda and other sugary drinks to help pay for an overhaul of the nation’s health-care system.

The taxes would pay for only a fraction of the cost to expand health-insurance coverage to all Americans and would face strong opposition from the beverage industry. They also could spark a backlash from consumers who would have to pay several cents more for a soft drink.

On Tuesday, the Senate Finance Committee is set to hear proposals from about a dozen experts about how to pay for the comprehensive health-care overhaul that President Barack Obama wants to enact this year. Early estimates put the cost of the plan at around $1.2 trillion. The administration has so far only earmarked funds for about half of that amount.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest, a Washington-based watchdog group that pressures food companies to make healthier products, plans to propose a federal excise tax on soda, certain fruit drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks and ready-to-drink teas. It would not include most diet beverages. Excise taxes are levied on goods and manufacturers typically pass them on to consumers."

So... Obama promises to lower taxes on 95% of working Americans before the election but then considers raising taxes on 100% of Americans including kids and non-working after getting elected.

Here's to ya', Obama kool-aid drinkers ...drink up.

Okay Class, Today's Assignment - You Have 2 Minutes, Plot a Terror Attack on America

I heard this on TV2 morning news here in Denver.

Thanks to Z Truth for the story...

"A ninth grade history project at Pueblo County High School started out as a straight forward writing assignment, but it quickly outraged some parents.

It was an assignment meant to teach kids about terrorism, and while some call it a misunderstanding others say it was just down right irresponsible.

On Thursday, 110 freshmen at Pueblo County High School were given an assignment that many felt was questionable.

At least one parent was shocked when her daughter explained the assignment to her.

"She said you have two minutes to write down on a piece of paper what your act of terrorism would be if you were to come up with an act of terrorism," said parent Gini Fisher.

The teacher claims the assignment was to illustrate an act of terrorism by a foreign government on American soil.

Meanwhile, District 70 Superintendent Dr. Dan Lere says all of the assignments will be collected and destroyed immediately..."

I Hope Wanda Sykes Vocal Chords Fail

Great post providing you can handle a dose of the truth at Breitbart Big Hollywood on "Wanda Sykes... may her vocal chords fail."

Quote of the Day

"Liberals (leftists, Democrats etc) claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views."

-- William F. Buckley, Jr.

Maybe My Final Word On So-called "Torture"

Thousands of dead Americans vs scaring a scumbag... gee, tough call.

The Central Intelligence Agency told CNSNews.com today that it stands by the assertion made in a May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that the use of “enhanced techniques” of interrogation on al Qaeda leader Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM) -- including the use of waterboarding -- caused KSM to reveal information that allowed the U.S. government to thwart a planned attack on Los Angeles.

Before he was waterboarded, when KSM was asked about planned attacks on the United States, he ominously told his CIA interrogators, “Soon, you will know.”

According to the previously classified May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that was released by President Barack Obama last week, the thwarted attack -- which KSM called the “Second Wave”-- planned “ ‘to use East Asian operatives to crash a hijacked airliner into’ a building in Los Angeles.”

KSM was the mastermind of the first “hijacked-airliner” attacks on the United States, which struck the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Northern Virginia on Sept. 11, 2001.

After KSM was captured by the United States, he was not initially cooperative with CIA interrogators. Nor was another top al Qaeda leader named Zubaydah. KSM, Zubaydah, and a third terrorist named Nashiri were the only three persons ever subjected to waterboarding by the CIA. (Additional terrorist detainees were subjected to other “enhanced techniques” that included slapping, sleep deprivation, dietary limitations, and temporary confinement to small spaces -- but not to water-boarding.)

The quotations in this part of the Justice memo were taken from an Aug. 2, 2004 letter that CIA Acting General Counsel John A. Rizzo sent to the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel.

Before they were subjected to “enhanced techniques” of interrogation that included waterboarding, KSM and Zubaydah were not only uncooperative but also appeared contemptuous of the will of the American people to defend themselves.

“In particular, the CIA believes that it would have been unable to obtain critical information from numerous detainees, including KSM and Abu Zubaydah, without these enhanced techniques,” says the Justice Department memo. “Both KSM and Zubaydah had ‘expressed their belief that the general US population was ‘weak,’ lacked resilience, and would be unable to ‘do what was necessary’ to prevent the terrorists from succeeding in their goals.’

In the memo itself, the Justice Department’s Bradbury told the CIA’s Rossi: “Your office has informed us that the CIA believes that ‘the intelligence acquired from these interrogations has been a key reason why al Qa’ida has failed to launch a spectacular attack in the West since 11 September 2001.”

Yes, I would approve of torture to save a loved-one and yes I am intellectually honest enough to afford that right to you and also to those charged with keeping us safe from scumbags like KSM and his Islamic thugbuddies.

Note: Only 3 detainees have been waterboarded total.... also no detainees were injured in the stopping of the attack on LA saving hundreds perhaps thousands of American lives.

Someone tell me again how it isn't worth it.... while you're at it, tell me again how closing Gitmo makes us safer.

Moonbat Mothers Day

Thanks to Rightwing News-

Mother's Day is coming up Sunday. Here's how moonbat children's book author Judy Blume has decided to honor it:

Blume is lending her name to the solicitation of donations for Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business.

In a new missive ironically celebrating mothers day, Blume suggests sending a donation to the pro-abortion group to honor mothers.

"Say thanks this Mother's Day with a gift that honors her courage by making a donation to Planned Parenthood in her name. I guarantee you that she'll be pleased. I know I would be," Blume writes. …

Blume notes how more woman are seeking abortions from Planned Parenthood because of the difficult economy and she urges readers of the email to use that as a reason to support the abortion business.

"And right now — with more and more women seeking care from Planned Parenthood health centers — we need to do all we can to support them. By honoring a mother in your life, you'll be making a gift to millions of mothers and families who seek care from Planned Parenthood. That's a gift any mother will appreciate," she concludes.
That is, the gift of not being a mother.

Planned Parenthood offers to send a card to any donor's mother saying that a person sent a donation to the pro-abortion group in her name.
As The blogprof comments,

Because nothing says "Happy Mothers Day!" like a cash gift to the local butcher shop that fillets babies in the womb while still conscious.

Troubled Waters for Watts?

From The McCarville Report Online

"J. C. Watts, the former 4th District congressman contemplating a bid for the Republican nomination for governor next year, has been paid $180,000 by a Texas group that is suing Oklahoma for the right to purchase water that flows through the state."

One must wonder however exactly why Mike McCarville is so against someone who isn't even running for anything yet however....

UPDATE:

According to The Oklahoman, Watts’ and his company are not directly involved with the lawsuit against Oklahoma, but rather are involved in trying to get approval for a federal water project for the Trinity River area.

Steve Pruitt, a partner in Watts Partners, said the lobbying team for the water district works only on federal issues and is not involved in any way with the lawsuit or efforts to repeal or modify the moratorium.

Pruitt said he has focused primarily on getting congressional approval and funding for a water district project involving the Trinity River.

Filings by Watts’ firm say it represents the water district on state regulatory issues and federal project authorization. But Pruitt said the regulatory issues don’t include the water sale dispute.

“We’re not a law firm; we’re a public relations firm,” Pruitt said. “We try to stay as far away from the legal stuff as we can get.”

Obama Thinks Hoping Rush Limbaugh's "Kidneys Fail" is Funny

Courtesy of Breitbart TV

Nice and classy... not. Classless and gutless, yes.
Courtesy of washed up comedian Wanda Sykes, our Hater in Chief enjoyed watching attack after attack on conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh at the annual White House Correspondents dinner.

"I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker but was so high on Oxycontin he missed his flight"

Sykes went on to suggest waterboarding Sean Hannity saying "I can break Sean Hannity..." then suggesting waterboarding him.

I don't recall President Bush attacking his detractors... in fact he made fun of himself at those dinners.

Now we have the classless left in charge of the entertainment and this is what we get.
Clueless classless insults... under the guise of humor of course.

Limbaugh has NEVER said anything close to this about his detractors or about anyone on the left... yet he is the one called a "hater". Limbaugh hopes Obama's policies fail and Obama hopes Limbaugh's kidney's fail....

Sarah Palin... Poised To Become America's First Female President

From the Digital Journal-

A Book Review: By Gary Jackson-
Sarah Palin Poised To Become America's First Female President
Authored by Recaldo Ochoa.
Sarah Palin is indeed poised to not only be the first female President, she is poised to be the next President of the United States.

Governor Sarah Palin is a true American original. She is a self made woman. A strong woman. A woman who has met every challenge in her life head on, and prevailed.

Governor Palin is the very embodiment of the American spirit. She is hard working, down to earth, and very personable. She is also an incredibly driven woman, and a true reformer. Someone who has never let corruption in government slide.

And that’s a point that the author of the latest book about Governor Palin, “Sarah Palin Poised To Become America’s First Female President” makes very, very well.

The author, Recaldo Ochoa, a history teacher who focuses on American history and government, proves he knows his subject very well. This is a well put together book on Sarah Palin, and a fun read. It was obviously a labor of love, and a family project, with his son and daughter helping with cover design and illustrations.

Obama's Closing Club Gitmo Super Blunder

President Obama announced the closing of "Club Gitmo" where hundreds of extremist Islamic radicals captured on the battle fields of Iraq and Afghanistan are being held while the war continues, without having any plans for what to do with the detainees, how to release them or where.

States are taking the "not in my backyard" approach including Democrats like Diane Feinstein's refusal to use Alcatraz. Now Obama is stuck with closing Gitmo and nowhere to put the prisoners... quite a pickle.

Asked by the press, the Prez commented.... "Did I do thaaaat?"

Waterboarding Works and YOU might be proof

Let's just put an end to the chatter going on regarding whether enhanced interrogation methods like waterboarding work or not. But don't take my word for it.
From The Herald Sun Andrew Bolt.

George Tenet said that the “enhanced interrogation” program alone yielded more information than everything gotten from “the FBI, the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency put together.”

Michael Hayden, CIA director after waterboarding had been discontinued, writes (with former Attorney General Michael Mukasey) that “as late as 2006 ... fully half of the government’s knowledge about the structure and activities of al-Qaeda came from those interrogations.” Even Dennis Blair, Obama’s director of national intelligence, concurs that these interrogations yielded “high value information.” So much for the lazy, mindless assertion that torture never works.

Asserts Dennis Blair’s predecessor, Mike McConnell, "We have people walking around in this country that are alive today because this process happened.”

The experts agree... waterboarding works (like it or not) and you might be alive today because of it.

Oklahoma's own Ward Churchill "Wanna-be"

From his blogs and website(s)....
Occupation: Associate Professor of Psychology at Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

"I am part of a new generation of a scholar-activists, in my case inspired by such diverse individuals as Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Edward Said, and Ward Churchill (among others)."

"Increasingly, my interests are leading me to attempt to apply social psychological theories of aggression to our understanding of such phenomena as torture and genocide. I am also interested in right-wing authoritarianism."

"Not surprising, my primary goal in conducting research is not merely knowledge for the sake of knowledge, but rather knowledge in the service of social justice."

His BLOG- Mahatma X Files, a hate filled venom spewing non-stop attack on all things conservative and all things Christian (called the US effort in Afghanistan the New "Crusades") while defending and ignoring Islamic fascism, socialism and communism as if they don't exist. Dr Benjamin is so far left... he can't see right and yet he teaches at a University. This guy makes doc hoc aka Kurt Hochenauer aka Okie Funk sound almost not insane.... I said almost.

It's scary and wrong that these self absorbed morons are practicing their own versions of "social justice" by indoctrinating students with anti-conservative and pro-Democrat propaganda.

Wanna-be Ward Churchill huh? It's easy, just be an America hating white guy with long hair teaching at a University (just like you and Ward) and then lie about being native American (just like Ward Churchill), then commit plagiarism and lie about that (just like Ward) while spewing your own version of America hating history (just like you) to people. Looks like you're off to a pretty good start there Benji.

Good grief, when will it end?

The End of Federalism, Welcome to the Nanny-State

Thanks to The Heritage Foundation-
From "The End of Federalism"

USA Today reports:
“In a historic first, Uncle Sam (the federal government) has supplanted sales, property and income taxes as the biggest source of revenue for state and local governments.”
Yes, now states, counties and even cities look to the federal government instead of themselves for revenue.
Heritage Foundation- "The costs of the loss of federalism to the American people are real. As Reagan outlined, federal aid to states blurs the lines of government accountability, making it easy for politicians to sneak in government-growing legislation and hard for voters to hold those politicians accountable. Moreover, as states become more dependent on federal funding, they begin to lose their ability to set priorities and make policy decisions that are best-suited to their specific needs. Finally, sending money to Washington, only so that it can later come back to the states, creates a fiscal detour of inefficiency and inequity."
"A Leviathan-sized federal government able to dictate state policies through power of the purse is not what the Founders had in mind."
As Reagan said in his first inaugural address:
“All of us need to be reminded that the Federal Government did not create the States; the States created the Federal Government.”

Breaking News on the Wacko-Extreme Left: "The New Crusades"

Funny and pathetic at the same time... the extreme-extreme did I mention extremely (?) far left is paranoid about what they describe as a Christian "Crusade" being waged by US forces against Muslims.
Their evidence of this alleged "Crusade"?
"In a video obtained by Al Jazeera and broadcast Monday, Lieutenant-Colonel Gary Hensley, the chief of the US military chaplains in Afghanistan, is seen telling soldiers that as followers of Jesus Christ, they all have a responsibility "to be witnesses for him."
dhimmi math... 1+1= Insult to Allah.
Trying to convert Muslims to any other faith is a crime in Afghanistan. The fact that the video footage is being broadcast on Al Jazeera guarantees that it will be seen throughout the Muslim world. It is likely to add more credence to the perception that the US is engaging in a war on Islam with neo-crusader forces invading Muslim lands."
And finally...
"Leaving aside the question of whether the US should have ever gone to war in Afghanistan in the first place, we can at least note that the war seems to have been spun one way for public consumption, and executed in a much different way outside the public eye."
Wow... a pastor telling other Christians to spread God's word, even in Afghanistan... even at the risk of starring in a video of their head being cut off by who?... oh yes, MUSLIMS... who ARE currently engaged in spreading the religion of Islam by force (Jihad = holy war) and sword (be-headings, bombings) and iron fist (oppression of women and minorities).... currently seeking to get nukes by brutally overtaking Pakistan, but no outrage from the loony-lefties about this fact?
Shocking.

This stuff would be hilarious ...if only they were kidding... or if they weren't college professors and the like.

You Would Torture, Don't Deny It

I will once again call out you phonies who are against the current so-called enhanced interrogation methods being referred to as "torture".

I say "phony" because I believe that every single one of you would approve of these methods to save one of your children, a parent, brother or sister or spouse... a family member. Of course you would... take the time to ask yourself the deadly serious question.

Scenario-
Your 10 year old daughter (or son or granddaughter) has been kidnapped by a child-porn/prostitution ring used to fund terrorism from another country and one of the high ranking members of the group has been captured by black-op's forces. He is the only lead in the case and he knows where she is (for now) and how to save her, but refuses to talk... no deal and time is running out for finding your daughter before they move her and she is lost forever.

Would you approve putting an insect in with him that he thinks is poisonous (but isn't) to save her or other family member?
Would you approve making him think his life is in danger to save your mother's life?
Would you approve a very effective known method (used on our own delta force and rangers in training) that makes him think he is being drowned for very brief periods of time (doctors on-hand in case of emergency)?
Would you approve keeping him awake until he talks to save your brothers life?
Loud music?
Would you approve harsher techniques if it will save your 12 year old daughter or other family members life?

If you say no, I say you are a liar ...or worse.
So shut up about denying that to every other family.

Oklahoma Lefty stood up to the challenge... how about you?

Kemp Leaves Behind GOP Blueprint for Success

Thanks to the Heritage Foundation

"In my view, this debate should not be over whether we’re going to spend $16 billion or $6 billion on a spending-driven stimulus package. Instead, for the good of the economy and the good of the country, America needs a real debate over the principles of what creates a growing economy.

Does government create jobs, or do entrepreneurs?
Does government spending spur growth, or do lower taxes, less regulation, and spending limits?
Can government direct investment better than the private sector?
The answers to these questions provide the keys to designing a strategy for long-term growth in America."- Jack Kemp 7/1993 on providing an alternative to Bill Clinton.

Then just 17 months later following a Republican majority takeover of congress....

"Democrats tried to make this election about anger. But we made this into an election about ideas - about opportunity, ownership, entrepreneurship, responsibility, education, safe streets, and jobs for all."- Jack Kemp 11/1994 following Republicans winning control of congress during Bill Clinton's term.

God speed Jack.

New Words of the Day

It's not what you say... it's how you say it, look to the right and step to the left. When Obama said "Change" I didn't know he meant changing the meaning of words to fit his politics.
Okay boys and girls take notes and keep up because words are important.

According to the President Obama and a NY Times memo, from this point on we shall refer to...

Terrorism, Islamic attacks, carbombers, suicide bombers and planes flying into buildings as: "Manmade disasters"

The war on Terror, Jihad, War against radical Islam, etc.:
"Overseas Contingency Operation(s)"

Environment:
"The air we breathe, the water our children drink"

Global Warming:
Amended to "Climate Change", now re-amended to "Our Deteriorating Atmosphere".

I've got a new term.... instead of calling leftwing liberal moonbats... leftwing liberal moonbats, how about we call them Demofascists?
Has a nice ring to it.

It's Okay To Lie For "Our Deteriorating Atmosphere"?

Dave at the Oklahomily blog has this great post on "global warmin... errr, climate chang...", uhh I mean “our deteriorating atmosphere.” and wordplay (lies) by leftist environmentalists now running our country.
"It is time to drop the term “the environment” and talk about “the air we breathe, the water our children drink.”

BREAKING NEWS: CNN "almost" admits US Victory in Iraq

In a rare near-blunder, CNN and the Democrat controlled leftwing media almost recognized the US led victory and success in Iraq... reporting that the Al Qaeda threat in Iraq "continued to diminish"... but are puzzled as to why. This is as close as they could come, sad but true, hidden deep in an article titled (of all things) "Terror Attacks Up in Pakistan, Afghanistan".

CNN- "Although the threat from al Qaeda in Iraq "continued to diminish" due to significant defections and a loss of both territory and funding, al Qaeda continued to benefit from safe haven in Somalia and has strengthened its North African operations."
Let's take a look at what this really means.

Al Qaeda in Iraq... (wow this is quite an admission alone, AQI?) continue to diminish (as in, got their asses kicked) due to (Bush's US led surge strategy and General Petraeus?) significant defections (defections, why?) and a loss of both territory (because of who? To who?) and funding (funding? We were told our presence in Iraq helped their funding, remember?)...

All this is probably due to global warming... err I mean "climate change" I'm sure.

Leftwing Bloggers (hacks) and MSM Proving Their Partisan Agenda

After spending years and years claiming there was no link between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda in Iraq, Democrats, the mainstream media and leftwing bloggers far and wide across the fruited plain are forced to now show their extreme and selfish partisan hands as they ignore news out of Iraq proving a very long term and strong connection between Saddam Hussein's regime and Al Qaeda operatives right up until 2003.
World Tribune: Iraq prime minister ties Saddam regime to captured Al Qaida commander
"BAGHDAD — The government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki said Al Qaida worked closely with former operatives in Saddam Hussein regime."

Bloggers on the right have acknowledged not finding WMD in Iraq... it is the truth.
We can handle the truth.
Bloggers on the left and the MSM don't care about the truth as evidenced by their silence on the truth about the link between Saddam Hussein, Al Qaeda, Iraq and the war on terrorism.
Yes, I said it... "war on terror in Iraq".

Now lets see if ANY left leaning bloggers or the msm have the integrity to admit they were wrong.
Don't hold your breath... (that might be torture)

UPDATE: Leftwingers (proving my point above) instead of reporting the facts and the truth are going this direction, attacking Vice President Cheney... when it turns out (see story above) Cheney was right.
Huffington Post
"Coercive and illegal techniques were used widely at Gitmo in an attempt to secure information linking al Qaeda to Saddam Hussein."

But, now we know "THE REST OF THE STORY".

Bush Due Apology From Democrats

Thanks to Flopping Aces.

"There is no connection between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda" was all we heard from the lunatic left since 2003. Well, surprise boys and girls.

Iraqi Prime Minister Confirms Proof of Al Qaeda-Saddam Hussein Connection

BAGHDAD — The government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki said Al Qaida worked closely with former operatives in Saddam Hussein regime.

Officials said leading members of the Al Qaida network have coordinated operations with Saddam aides since 2003. They said Al Qaida and Saddam forces attacked Shi’ites in an effort to spark a civil war in Iraq.

They agreed that Al Qaida would carry out the suicide attacks, while the Baathists [Saddam's ruling party] would do the remote-control bombs,” Al Maliki said.

The Al Qaida-Saddam link, asserted by then-U.S. President George Bush in 2002, came in wake of the reported capture of a leading Al Qaida commander in Iraq.

Same Old John McCain Heads New GOP New Road Show New ?

The New Council For America seems to be a lame attempt to recreate the Republican party in the image of the Democrat party....

"The headliner of this road show, the new Republican Party, is McCain? Why didn't they go get Arlen Specter?- Rush Limbaugh

Didn't Republicans learn anything from 2008?

Voters don't want a maverick, milk-toast, vanilla, moderate, semi-Democrat, Republican in name only candidate and they proved it at the voting booths last November.

Until Republicans can start acting like Republicans and not trying to be Democrat-lite, they are not going to get anywhere with voters who are getting more and more anxious for a genuine conservative adult to step forward.
