Front Page Magazine online has a eye-opening piece on just how far President Obama is taking the healthcare system down the road of no return and taking away a doctors right to refuse to perform an abortion.

Founder and future President James Madison, Jr. wrote in FEDERALIST # 45:

"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce...The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State."

We've come a long long way from there baby... to the point of restricting ones personal beliefs and religious beliefs it appears.

"Is there not the right to refuse to perform an abortion?
There are analogies. Let us note a dramatic one. A prison guard who does not believe in the death penalty has the right to decline assignment to activate the electric chair."

Obama is taking away that same right for doctors and nurses that do not believe in abortion...

By a 56-41 vote, the United States Senate has defeated an amendment to legislation which would have sustained the right of a physician or other person to decline to abort a baby if federal taxpayer funds or the long arm of the feds were involved in the treatment.

Sixteen senators claiming to be Roman Catholic, 15 Democrats and one Republican, voted against the conscience clause. Nine such Senators, eight Republicans and one Democrat, voted for the conscience clause."

Obama administration is racking up quite a record on aborting babies....

"It reversed the so-called Mexico City Policy, which precluded usage of American taxpayers’ money by international organizations to provide abortions.
It repealed embryonic-stem-cell research restrictions.
It championed funding by American taxpayers of $ 50 million to the United Nations Population Fund, which has supported cruel aspects of Chinese population control procedures.
Perhaps most dramatically of all, the President nominated, and the Senate confirmed, that conspicuous friend of abortion, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, to be Secretary of Health and Human Services, a new dimension for the camel-in-the-tent riddle."

Whatever the founding fathers might have thought about abortion, they would have been very disappointed in how the federal government has steamrolled over states rights and personal rights.

Wellington Lake Not What it Used to Be

We went camping last weekend to a place we first found in the mid 1980's. We hadn't been there in about 5 years since we had been living in Oklahoma, so the trip was highly anticipated and as such... highly disappointing.

Wellington Lake is a beautiful place located just south of the town of Bailey Colorado, off HWY 285 about 12 miles. But camping there nowadays is like camping in my small backyard without any fences between me and the neighbors and the neighbors are all camping in their yards too... YIKES!

In the "old days" lol, it was a secluded spot few knew about... mostly locals in the Bailey Conifer area. I recall taking my daughter's entire softball team including parents there in the mid 1990's and spent less than me and my wife and son spent this past weekend.

In the past few years Castle Mtn Recreation decided to double or triple the number of campsites, double or triple the prices and nickle and dime you to death in between. It cost us $55 for two people for two nights including fishing... not including the $25 of firewood I had to buy because it's against the rules to bring wood in (pine beetles) etc. The couple in front of me in line.... yes I said line, to pay was charged $88 just for the fishing fee as they had like 5 kids... holy crap.

They now have more rules than they do fish in the lake, like campfires completely out by 10pm, they lock the gate at 8:30 pm and no moving the fire rings dammit!

On Sunday my son was unable to get to the water to throw out a line without doing it from the middle of someone's camp or on top of other fishermen (and fishergals), it was woodstock.

In my opinion they have ruined this once great camping spot. Too many campsites, too many people for the water frontage access and too many rules (probably from having too many people).

So... if you are in Colorado and want a beautiful place to camp... Wellington Lake is that for sure, but don't go on the weekend. It's like being at the mall.

However, those of you reading this in Oklahoma can still enjoy the beauty and low cost of Lake Tenkiller... my favorite place in Oklahoma.

Smalley, aka Franken, Wins Minnesota Supreme Court Ruling

In what might be the ultimate mockery and insult to politics of all time, the Minnesota Supremes ruled for Stuart Smalley, aka Al Franken, to be certified as the winner of the state's long-running Senate race over Republican incumbent Norm Coleman.

Smalley, aka Franken, is best known for his Saturday Night Live appearances in "Daily Affirmation with Stuart Smalley" while Franken is best known for helping start the failing and scandal ridden Air America AM Radio "network" as an attempt at fighting back against Rush Limbaugh and conservative talk radio. His Sundance Channel Cable TV broadcasts of the Air America looked more like the SNL skits about NPR than the serious political force it was claimed to be.

Wiki- "Stuart is a member of many (sometimes fictional) twelve-step groups, including Overeaters Anonymous, Children of Alcoholic Parents Anonymous, and Children of Rageaholic Parents Anonymous. He is an effeminate man with a perfectly coiffed bleached-blonde hairdo, who regularly wears a yellow button down shirt with a powder blue cardigan."

Franken is a member of the Hollywood elite that feel guilty for their undeserved success and therefore want the rest of us to pay it back by giving it all to the so-called "poor" that Democrats like Smalley, aka Franken, never actually help.

However, he does his misguided best to help his on-air guests (very often celebrities) to work out what he wrongly perceives to be their problems. In fact, Smalley often projects his own problems onto others; thus he will attempt to solve an issue that is not really there. As US Senator Smalley, aka Franken, will do his part to "fix" problems that don't actually exist and "solve and issue that is not really there" in true Democrat(ic) fashion... like global warming, the financial crisis, healthcare, gay marriage and saving the endangered Minnesota fruitnut fly and many many more.

If you like your hypocritical leftwing wacko Hollywood environmentalist nutjobs as crazy as a loon... then Smally, aka Franken, is your guy.

"Yesterday’s Supreme Court opinion in Ricci, the New Haven firefighters case, provides a window to what will inevitably be a significant line of questioning in Judge Sotomayor’s confirmation hearings. After all, Judge Sotomayor not only reached the wrong decision in this case, allowing overt racial discrimination in protection of what were essentially soft racial quotas, but she did so in a dismissive one-paragraph opinion which seemed calculated to bury the case from future review. Both her dismissive treatment of important rights in this and a prominent Second Amendment case, and the apparent bias that these cases display will likely be fertile ground for questions in her confirmation hearings."

We can only "hope" for questions during the hearings...

Regrettably, Sotomayor has demonstrated a pattern of failing to grapple with questions of exceptional importance.
In her opinion in Maloney v. Cuomo, in which she found that the Second Amendment does not apply to the states, she tersely declared that a state statute restricting possession of weapons does implicate a fundamental right—the full consideration of which was measured in a handful of words. Like in the firefighters case, she concluded this without even grappling with the arguments–indeed without any explanation whatsoever.

Adding it up...

This is all the more troubling because of her statements embracing personal bias. In the very same speech where she issued the well-calculated and well-quoted assertion about the superior judgment of wise Latina women, she questioned whether it is possible for judges to overcome personal sympathies or biases “in all or even in most cases.” She even seemed to think that ruling based upon these biases is somehow patriotic: “I wonder whether by ignoring our differences as women or men of color we do a disservice both to the law and society.”

And the money quote...
"Given these statements embracing bias, and her embarrassingly inadequate judicial treatment of both the firefighters case and the Second Amendment case, Senators taking up her nomination on July 13 will necessarily need to explore whether her short shrift treatment of serious statutory and constitutional issues in these cases is a reflection of her own biases, or whether, on the brighter side, it is simply an indication of incompetent judging."

Call it what it is: "Obama's Cap and Tax Tax & Trade and Tax Tax"

We should have a law requiring any new laws that include a tax increase in them are required to have the word "tax" in the title of the bill.
Honesty in advertising?

Naming games like "Cap & Trade" which is a tax increase on your energy bills should be outlawed.
The Cap and Trade Tax will mean a tax increase on your natural gas or propane, on your electricity and on your gasoline or diesel with no evidence that it will have any positive impact whatsoever on the climate or the planet or the environment.

But it doesn't stop there.
Imagine a tax on the very element all life on this planet is based on.
Carbon. There ya' go.... bingo... errr rather Jackpot!

Additionally, CO2 has been deemed by the US government to be a dangerous and hazardous gas in spite of it being a naturally occurring substance that all breathing creatures on earth exhales about once per second or so... and bubbles up from all the ocean floors... and all plant life must have it (CO2) to survive just as we need oxygen from the plants.

But CO2 is suddenly "bad medicine" and the US government is going to tax it out of existence.... to save the planet of course. Then later, the US government can rush back in to save the day and mandate increased CO2 output to save the planet from a lack of CO2 when levels naturally ebb and flow as they do.
What a scam this global warming hoax has turned into.

Tax increases from the Cap and Trade Tax on businesses will also drive up the cost of virtually everything we buy.... or lease... or rent... or look at.

Call it what it is The Cap and Tax Tax and Trade and Tax Tax.

Dimwits Announce New "Lighting Standards"

The new Democrat strategy is to keep you in the dark and cold... literally... while the President sets his thermostat on very-very warm in the winter and very-very cool in the summer and jets around the globe in Air Force One wasting taxpayer money on dates with his wife.

WASHINGTON -- Aiming to keep the focus on climate change legislation, President Barack Obama put a plug in for administration efforts to make lamps and lighting equipment use less energy.

"I know light bulbs may not seem sexy, but this simple action holds enormous promise because 7 percent of all the energy consumed in America is used to light our homes and businesses," the president said, standing alongside Energy Secretary Steven Chu at the White House.

So while we are sitting in the dark saving money while not having enough light to read by and not being able to drive our car and not being able to run our air conditioners or heaters.... it is comforting to know that at least our fearless leader is comfortable and cozy.

America Should Be Celebrating Iraqi Freedom Victory, Media Silent

It's embarrassing and disgusting how the partisan media and as a result Americans in general are ignoring the huge victory being celebrated across Iraq. We should be celebrating for them.... with them, instead the US government democrat ministry of information (news media) is silent.

Silent at a time when millions are free because of American blood, sweat, time and money... silent when they should be shouting "freedom rings" from every headline. No, Americans are too busy worrying about themselves and how bad things are in America and how America needs to be rebuilt and fixed.

Like I said... disgusting and embarrassing.

CNN has this... "Historic Moment in Iraq Marked by Little Fanfare, Mixed Feelings"
The so-called "little fan-fare" is the reaction by the White House and his government run media machine... (like CNN for one example) and average Americans who don't know about VICTORY IN IRAQ. The "mixed feelings" refer to Iraqi's who DON'T want the Americans to leave although CNN wonders just who the innocent Iraqis could be afraid of if the "evil murdering, torturing" Americans are not there killing innocent Iraqis.

"Baghdad resident Hanaa Abdul Hassan told CNN she feels "fear and horror."

"Without the Americans, we were afraid of each other, and now that the Americans are leaving, we will be more afraid. We knew the Americans were holding them back, so now I don't know what's going to happen," she said, without specifying who "they" were." -CNN

Top US Commander: Iran is Behind most Attacks in Iraq

"Iran is still supporting, funding and training surrogates who operate inside of Iraq. They have not stopped and I don't think they will stop," Odierno told reporters at the U.S. military headquarters outside Baghdad. "I think many of the attacks in Baghdad are from individuals that have been in fact funded or trained by the Iranians."

Odierno said the attacks were mainly indirect fire—a term usually reserved for mortars, rockets and artillery—and EFP's. That last weapon, also known as an explosively formed penetrator, is designed to attack armored vehicles such as Humvees and is among the main killers of U.S. troops in Iraq. U.S. officials have said the main component of the EFP is manufactured in Iran.

Odierno directly implicated groups supported by Iran in recent rocket attacks against the walled-off Green Zone in central Baghdad.

"Those are being done by groups that have been trained in Iran, been funded by Iran. Usually their leaders are still in Iran and they have surrogates doing operations in Iraq," he said.

June 30th is "National Sovereignty Day" in Iraq ! (Victory)

"Iraqi government TV has been playing patriotic music to celebrate the U.S. military withdrawal from cities, towns and villages across the country, officially set to be completed by Tuesday June 30th.

Iraqi military vehicles were also covered with flowers to celebrate the event, and military parades, complete with band music, were organized in Diyala and Diwania provinces.

The government declared a “Day of National Sovereignty” to mark the event, and has invited ordinary citizens to join evening celebrations at Baghdad’s Zawra Park for a festival of music and poetry.

Interior Minister Jawad Boulani told journalists the U.S. withdrawal is almost complete and Iraqi forces are capable of maintaining order across the country.

He says he believes Iraq’s security situation is under control. “I do not think we need to declare a curfew,” he said.

Abiotic Oil Makes More Sense Than Dinosaur Oil

With the current panic stricken, foaming at the mouth, global warming, going green, oil-hating going on these days, I really have to laugh in between the crying spells... but I look at things a little differently.

Remember when they (scientists) told us oil came from dinosaurs?
They were dead serious at the time... but now of course that is just silly stuff never intended to be taken as fact. Dinosaurs... lol. Now we all know that oil comes from decayed vegetative material like zooplankton and algae that oozed down through miles and miles of rock and pooled up into giant lakes of oil.

Trouble is... they (scientists) are finding oil in places where organic material doesn't exist and computer models show that there has not been sufficient vegetative material to decompose into the volume of oil that exists.... not even counting the oil yet undiscovered.

I have always found the idea that crude oil could come from organic material not quite credible since that fact cannot be reproduced in the lab... all you get is animal fat or vegetable oil... not petroleum.

So I have posted on this before, but new information continues to support the idea that oil is a natural bi-product of the earths core activity which continues to be produced and is NOT from dead plants... or dinosaurs... or unicorns.

…I was just wondering, if young people who wanted to collect signatures to, say, push for the repeal of Roe v. Wade asked, would they be welcome at DIA?

How about young people who advocate for bold new free-market solutions to help get us out of Obama’s fiscal mess?

How about young people who want to “educate” the public about Governor Bill Ritter’s disastrous “new energy economy”?

Or how about some kids just getting involved and gathering signatures to stop socialized, rationed, government-controlled medicine?

Some group should test out how open-minded and inclusive DIA is on the issue of petitioners. Surely, there would be no ideological discrimination.

Tuesday during a press conference call with reporters, Joe Biden was asked to explain how exactly the administration plans to create the 600,000 new jobs this summer as advertised by the Obama administration.

Biden immediately asked for "a pass", saying a question like that is "above my pay grade" and, "I'm sorry, I'm not an economist. My background is in foreign policy."

When he was asked about a proposed $9 billion tunnel between New Jersey and New York, the vice president said, "This totally new tunnel is designed to provide for automobile traffic. It's something people have been clamoring for for a long time."

Uhhh the proposed tunnel is for trains Mr Veep, not cars.

He can't do math and doesn't know a train from a car.... and this is the guy Obama put in charge of over a Trillion dollars and the entire economy stimulus plan?

Democrats Plan Old Fashioned Revival To Convert Non-Believers

Democrats are bringing in has-been VP and Big Kahuna Weather Prophet "alGore" for a last minute motivational speech to Senior Democratic leaders who are "whipping and cajoling skeptical lawmakers to side with them" to approve the Global Warming Tax measure that could have significant economic impact on the energy bills of many Americans and even drive up the price of food. Congress legislating the weather much less legislating the global climate is far less likely to occur however.

alGore has most recently become well-known for his environmental views. He's authored books on climate change and produced the Academy Award-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" in 2005 after bitterly losing the 2000 Presidential election to George W Bush. He then gained a ton of weight, grew a long beard, lost weight, shaved the beard, tried his hand at being a pulpit pundit and then finally discovered the religion of global warming for fun and profit and more profit.

House Democrats plan to meet with Rev alGore at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Capitol.

As visual aids... Gore is having two Polar bears flown in direct from a melting piece of ice to testify before Senate Democrats. The bears will be flown back to the small, drifting, melting, piece of ice to die as a symbol of their commitment to end global warming.



Next Rev alGore will lead Democrats in a global weather prayer, not to spare the polar bears, but a prayer that their big hoax won't be exposed before they can vote in a big fat tax increase on Friday.

NY Times and Liberal Media Caught Skewing Their Polls for Obama

(CNSNews.com) - A New York Times/CBS News poll released Saturday that showed broad bipartisan support for President Obama’s health care reform, over-sampled Obama voters compared to McCain voters.

Out of 895 respondents, only 24 percent were Republicans, while 38 percent were Democrats, and 38 percent were independents, according to a June 20 release from CBS News. While the release says the sampling was conducted at random, those numbers are significantly below the 32.6 percent who identify themselves as Republican according to a May survey from the nonpartisan Rasmussen Reports.

Similarly, the Times/CBS poll said 48 percent of respondents had voted for Obama, versus 25 percent for McCain, a nearly two-to-one advantage for Obama supporters.

Had those results been reflected in the November presidential election, Obama would have garnered 66 percent of the vote to McCain’s 34 percent, Conway, president & CEO of “the polling company,” told CNSNews.com.

“Was the vote 66-34?

In 2008, Obama won 53 percent of the vote, McCain won 46 percent.

The poll was skewed toward Democrats and Obama supporters because the Times and CBS made it so.

Duncan Hunter Touts Iraq War Vets To Revive GOP

Duncan Hunter, a retired Republican who once chaired the Armed Services Committee, has decided that Iraq War veterans are the perfect candidates to revive the Republican Party in 2010.

Hunter -- a Vietnam War vet who briefly sought the 2008 Republican presidential nomination -- is already backing two such candidates as they launch challenges to two of the more junior members of the House Democratic majority: Jesse Kelly, who wants to take on two-term incumbent Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona's 8th District, and Vaughn Ward, whose target in Idaho's 1st District is freshman Democrat Walt Minnick.

Other 2010 GOP House candidates that fit that profile include New York Assemblyman Greg Ball, who is challenging second-term Democratic Rep. John Hall in the state's 19th District, and businessman Mike Pompeo in the race for Kansas' open 4th District seat.

Hunter concedes that building up campaign infrastructure -- particularly fundraising -- is a challenge for candidates recently returned from the front lines. "These guys have great quality, what they didn't have in the last race was a couple million dollars in the bank," Hunter said.

So he's out to change that.

Hunter said he plans to continue campaigning and attending fundraisers throughout the 2010 cycle for a handful of GOP candidates.

Obama Gets Tough on Iran by "Not Meddling"

Under criticism for not speaking out stronger against the Iranian crackdown on it's citizens who are protesting the phony elections held last week, President Obama got tough today.
Tough on his critics that is and tough on defending his "hands-off" policy on the subject of freedom and democracy saying...

"The Iranian people are trying to have a debate about their future."
Some in the Iranian government are trying to avoid that debate by accusing the United States and others outside of Iran of instigating protests over the elections. These accusations are patently false and absurd.

Do the images coming out of Iran look anything like a "debate" to you? It looks to me like a one-sided ass kicking by a brutal fascist government on its citizens. The inexperienced semi-socialist President seems more concerned about how He appears in all of this, than He is concerned for the Iranian people or concerned for freedom and democracy.

Like the current situation in Iran for example. It's an easy call to make... oppressed people being beaten and murdered in the streets while protesting a phony election. Who do you side with?

Take a brief surf around the left side of the blog-o-sphere searching for support of the Iranian protesters being murdered in the streets across Iran following last weeks highly contested phony elections. Good Luck.

You will find little to nothing in the way of support for the Iranian people and freedom but plenty criticizing conservatives for supporting the Iranian people and freedom.

Same thing with Iraq... a country that has succeeded in forming itself into a self governing democracy, now with a growing thriving economy and ally to America in the war on terror, but the left would still prefer that the brutal dictator Saddam Hussein (no relation to Barack Hussein) were still running his rape-rooms and gas chambers while scamming money from the UN to put into weapons R&D. Not a word on the recent declaration of VICTORY by Iraqi's themselves... nothing.

Okie Funk's dochoc thinks that writing about the urgency of spending your tax dollars to "save the (swimming) pools" trumps all reports about freedom seeking people in Iran being oppressed by facists.

I listen to Air America fairly often for as long as I can stand it... it's sorta my own version of self torture.
There is a commercial airing for the Randi Rhodes show endorsing the use of marijuana while driving where Randi says that we should legalize pot because nobody ever died in an accident while smoking pot... they just drive with their seat-belt hanging out, driving too slow which is annoying, but not dangerous, adding "nobody ever died while smoking pot".

"Through its effects on the brain and body, marijuana intoxication can cause accidents. Studies show that approximately 6 to 11 percent of fatal accident victims test positive for THC. In many of these cases, alcohol is detected as well.^{34, 35, 36} In a study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a moderate dose of marijuana alone was shown to impair driving performance; however, the effects of even a low dose of marijuana combined with alcohol were markedly greater than for either drug alone³⁷

Other Health Issues with Pot...

Cancer of the respiratory tract and lungs may also be promoted by marijuana smoke.⁴ A study comparing 173 cancer patients and 176 healthy individuals produced strong evidence that smoking marijuana increases the likelihood of developing cancer of the head or neck, and that the more marijuana smoked, the greater the increase.¹⁷ A statistical analysis of the data suggested that marijuana smoking doubled or tripled the risk of these cancers.

Marijuana has the potential to promote cancer of the lungs and other parts of the respiratory tract because it contains irritants and carcinogens.⁴⁰ In fact, marijuana smoke contains 50 percent to 70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than does tobacco smoke.⁴¹ It also produces high levels of an enzyme that converts certain hydrocarbons into their carcinogenic form, levels that may accelerate the changes that ultimately produce malignant cells.⁴² Marijuana users usually inhale more deeply and hold their breath longer than tobacco smokers do, which increases the lungs' exposure to carcinogenic smoke. These facts suggest that, puff for puff, smoking marijuana may increase the risk of cancer more than smoking tobacco does.

Some adverse health effects caused by marijuana may occur because THC impairs the immune system's ability to fight off infectious diseases and cancer. In laboratory experiments that exposed animal and human cells to THC or other marijuana ingredients, the normal disease-preventing reactions of many of the key types of immune cells were inhibited.¹⁶ In other studies, mice exposed to THC or related substances were more likely than unexposed mice to develop bacterial infections and tumors.^14,43

One study has indicated that a person's risk of heart attack during the first hour after smoking marijuana is four times his or her usual risk.⁴⁴ The researchers suggest that a heart attack might occur, in part, because marijuana raises blood pressure and heart rate and reduces the oxygen-carrying capacity of blood.

Dec. 1, 2005 - People who drive after using marijuana are nearly twice as likely to be involved in a fatal car crash.

French researchers studied all drivers involved in fatal car crashes over a two-year period and found 7% tested positive for marijuana, including nearly 3% who tested positive for a combination of marijuana and alcohol.

Although marijuana's share of fatal crashes is much lower than those attributed to alcohol, researchers say the results show that marijuana use, even in low doses, significantly increases the risk of fatal car accidents.

In the study, published in the medical journal BMJ, researchers reviewed information on 10,748 drivers who were involved in fatal car crashes and took required tests for drugs and alcohol.

Twice as many drivers involved in fatal car accidents tested positive for marijuana compared with a group of other drivers.

Researchers say about 2.5% of the fatal crashes were attributable to marijuana compared with nearly 29% attributable to alcohol.

The study also showed that drivers who tested positive for marijuana were more than three times as likely to be responsible for the fatal car crash. Researchers say the likelihood of being at fault increased as the blood concentration of marijuana increased.

Proving once again that those on the left have no interest in the truth or in whats best for our youth or our society and that those on the left will say absolutely anything to pander to their audience.

I lived through the 60's and 70's and I can tell you first hand we should NOT be telling our children lies about the dangers of drugs... even pot, just to be their best friend. Driving under the influence of pot (while high) can get you and your friends killed almost as fast as driving drunk. David Scheiner, an internist based in the Chicago neighborhood of Hyde Park, has a diverse practice of lower-income adults from the nearby housing projects mixed with famous patients like U.S. Sen. Carol Mosely Braun, the late writer Studs Terkel and, most notably, President Barack Obama.

"I'm not sure he (Obama) really understands what we face in primary care" .

"I have a suspicion they pick people from the top echelon of medicine, people who write about it but haven't been struggling in it".

Scheiner says he never thought it was appropriate to talk about health policy with Obama, especially once he became a U.S. Senator. The one exception was medical malpractice reform. "I once briefly talked to him about malpractice, and he took the lawyers' position," he says.

What should the president be focused on according to Obama's doctor?

Scheiner thinks that a good health reform would be "Medicare for all," a single-payer system where the government would cover everyone and pay for it by cutting out waste in the system. "A neurosurgeon gets paid $20,000 for cutting into the neck of my patient. Have him get paid $1 million a year instead of $2 million or $3 million. He won't starve," Scheiner says.

Iraqis Say What Obama Can't Say.... "VICTORY"

Iraqi Prime Minster Maliki declared that the draw-down of US troops signals the VICTORY of the successful Iraqi democracy over the foreign insurgents (al qaeda Sunnis from Syria AND Shi'ites from Iran) who threatened to occupy Iraq had the US withdrawn too soon as leading Democrats had called for over and over during the course of the war.

Maliki, a shi'ite said the start of the U.S. withdrawal was a "great victory" for Iraq over foreign occupation.

"I, and you, are sure that many don't want us to succeed and celebrate this victory," he said. "They are getting themselves ready to move in the dark to destabilize the situation, but we will be ready for them, God willing."

Almost all U.S. soldiers will leave urban centers by June 30 under a security pact signed by Baghdad and Washington last year, and the whole force that invaded the country in 2003 must be gone by 2012.

"Don't lose heart if a breach of security occurs here or there," Maliki told leaders from the ethnic Turkmen community, reiterating a warning that insurgents were likely to try to take advantage of the U.S. pullback to launch more attacks.

Interior Ministry spokesman Major General Abdul-Karim Khalaf said al-Qaeda was resorting to paying people to fight for it. It had also turned to criminal activities to raise funds.

"It is a very important development. It shows al-Qaeda is starting to loss its impact," Khalaf told reporters."

Meanwhile, President Barack Hussein Obama still refuses to admit the surge he opposed worked, much less VICTORY in Iraq!

TEHRAN (Reuters) - A suicide bomber blew himself up at the mausoleum of the father of Iran's revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, state media said Saturday, in an attack coinciding with more unrest over a disputed presidential vote.

Supporters of defeated presidential candidate Mirhossein Mousavi set on fire a building in southern Tehran used by backers of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a witness said.

The witness also said police shot into the air to disperse rival supporters in Tehran's south Karegar street.

Elsewhere in Tehran, riot police deployed in force, firing teargas, batons and water cannons to disperse protesters defying a ban on demonstrations, state media said."

At least he warns people right there in the name of the blog because he's usually "just not right".

Now that he is in power, President Obama is much more open to the idea. Before he departed for the Middle East and Europe last week, President Obama sent a letter to Congress explaining he would support mandates if they enabled him to also establish a government run health insurance plan. We’ve covered the dangers of a public health insurance plan before, so we’ll turn to a study written by one of Obama’s own nominees, HHS Assistant Secretary of Planning and Evaluation Dr. Sherry Glied, to detail why individual mandates would be terrible public policy:

High Costs: “Funds diverted from uncompensated care would not be sufficient to pay for the subsidies needed to cover most uninsured people. Eliminating the free-rider problem through universal insurance might make the health care system more fair, but it wouldn’t make it less costly.”

A New Tax: “The mandate is in many respects analogous to a tax. It requires people to make payments for something whether they want it or not.”

Special Interest Bonanza: “The relative invisibility of the mandate ’tax’ may make it easier for special interests to achieve their goals. The mandate, then, would become a means through which special interests use government to force transfers of funds from consumers to the health care sector.”

Unprecedented Intrusion: “Like taxes, a mandate requires enforcement if it is to be effective. …Developing a system to promptly identify and penalize scofflaws will take effort and ingenuity, particularly in our diverse and mobile country. It may require a degree of intrusiveness and bureaucracy that some will find unpalatable.”

The insurance industry’s willingness to accept a government mandated bailout is extremely shortsighted since it ignores the reason their industry is in trouble in the first place: existing government health care. The Los Angeles Times explains:

The industry’s real trouble begins in 2011, when 79 million baby boomers begin turning 65. Health insurers stand to lose a huge slice of their commercially insured enrollment (estimated at 162 million to 172 million people) over the next two decades to Medicare, the government-funded health insurance program for seniors.

“The rate of aging far and away exceeds the birth rate,” said Sheryl Skolnick, a CRT Capital Group healthcare investment analyst.

There is an alternative principled path to health care reform, which controls costs by putting health care decisions in the hands of consumers, not bureaucrats in Washington. I wonder if the subject of "trust" will come up in this discussion. It should.
America doesn't trust the news media and as far as I know, hasn't for a long time if we ever really did at all. In fact, I think "trust" may be their biggest problem.

News outlets have their own political views and they generally hire reporters who share their views, which inevitably comes out in their reporting of news. They can't help it, it's human nature. Try and write a 100% positive glowing report on something you hate. Try and write a hateful negative report on something you love. It's not easy... darned near impossible if you're not really paying attention.

I believe that newspapers and news media outlets are failing because people can pick and choose their news from sources they trust nowadays.

If Newspapers want to succeed, they must start by gaining the trust of a target audience. I have said before at this blog that I believe news outlets and reporters should declare their political leanings right up front.
The NY Times would be required to tell us that it leans so far left it can't see right. I don't care which they pick but pick one, you can't be both. Then I know what I'm buying if I get an issue.

Any so-called "journalist" caught feigning his political alliance is discredited as just that... a phony and a political hack.

Look at Fox News.
They realized there was a market for news that wasn't skewed left since all the other news media outlets are most certainly leftist. "Fair and Balanced" became their slogan and they do present BOTH sides particularly when presenting opinion but as opposed to all other news outlets, with FOX NEWS the guest is the liberal and the hosts are the conservatives.

An openly conservative newspaper will succeed. Trying to be all things to all people won't since you can't be all things to all people.

This is the problem with "unbiased journalism", it is biased, it too is an "ism". Unbiased Journalism is dead and may have never actually been alive as far as I can tell.

So, not to be one who criticizes something without offering a solution...

MEMO To the News Industry:

1- Declare your political leanings so your audience/customers know and trust what they are buying.

2- Develop a strategy to bring a target audience news stories they trust to be accurate and opinion they generally (not always) agree with and find entertaining as well.

3- Market to your target audience(s). Split into two newspapers, (or other outlet) if necessary to provide newsworthy news to liberal and conservative target audiences with separate reporters etc. Take on your competitors by responding to their stories and start a back and forth relationship if possible. (good for both in sales)

4- Report the news and concentrate on telling the truth (accuracy and followup) and find a way to inject some humor in somewhere along the way... in the form of satire or parody and you will sell newspapers and you will attract advertisers, which in the long run may be the most important part.

5- Buy the used newspapers back and recycle them into more newspapers or rags or paper mache' ash trays or something so they don't pile up in the garage and claim you have "gone green".

Who's gonna buy something from someone they don't trust in the first place?

Lack of Leadership By Obama On Iran Election Crisis is Staggering

The Hertiage Foundation seems to agree with me that the lack of leadership by President Obama on the Iranian elections and violence that has followed is simply staggering.

Sham Elections Expose Obama's Iran Policy

On the eve of Friday’s election in Iran, President Barack Obama told reporters: “We are excited to see what appears to be a robust debate taking place in Iran. Whoever ends up winning the election in Iran, the fact there has been a robust debate hopefully will advance our ability to engage them in new ways.” But almost immediately after the polls closed, election authorities miraculously claimed to have counted millions of paper ballots and named the incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the winner.

Iran’s Supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, then went on state television Saturday to declare the result a “divine assessment.” Responding to reports that Iranian security forces were keeping main rival Mir Hossain Mousavi in his home, Mr. Ahmadinejad dryly responded: “He ran a red light, and he got a traffic ticket.”

The only real surprise from the weekend’s results was how blatant Iranian authorities acted to preserve the current administration. It was naive to ever pretend that Iran, a theocratic dictatorship, was ever a true democracy. In reality the ayatollahs hand-picked the four contending candidates from a pool of 475 who initially sought to run for the presidency. The senior clerics on the Guardian Council, which vets the candidates, severely narrowed the choices to less than 1 percent of the original field of challengers. The four who were permitted to run for the presidency share a deep commitment to the extremist Islamist ideology that sparked Iran’s 1979 revolution.

The election results demonstrate again that it is the decisions of Iran’s Supreme Leader, not Iranian voters, which count in determining Tehran’s foreign policy … a foreign policy bent on acquiring nuclear weapons. Instead of blindly engaging the Iranian regime, the Obama administration must drive home the point that an Iranian nuclear weapon is unacceptable. Obama should:

Denounce the elections and indicate U.S. support for the demonstrators.

Call on other nations to support demonstrators and lead an international coalition to impose the strongest possible targeted economic sanctions against Iran.

Strengthen U.S. security in the region and at home by rescinding his budget cuts and fully funding missile defense.

President Obama has shown little interest in continuing President George Bush’s push for democracy in the Middle East. Now we will find out if President Obama will side with demonstrators who are putting their lives on the line for real change in the region, or if he will continue to denigrate the democracy agenda."

Hypocritical Left "Outraged" Over (R) Affair

Looks like the hypocritical left is outraged and crying "hypocrisy" over Senator John Ensign admitting he had an affair with a woman on his staff after his opposing gay marriage.
To be sure, the Senator is a Republican, otherwise the left would be seeking to give him an award or medal of some kind instead of calling for his resignation.
(see Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Gary Hart and Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank, [pictured] who has admitted that he had an affair with a male prostitute.)

Of course they have to take it to the next level and ask...

"Who is the bigger threat to marriage (two of them), Ensign or gays and lesbians?"

Based on their own main criteria of "promiscuity", lets take a look at who is the hypocrite here.

A 2004 article by Michael Foust regarding homosexuality and promiscuity states the following:

“

A new study by a group of University of Chicago researchers reveals a high level of promiscuity and unhealthy behavior among that city's homosexual male population. According to the researchers, 42.9 percent of homosexual men in Chicago's Shoreland area have had more than 60 sexual partners, while an additional 18.4 percent have had between 31 and 60 partners. All total, 61.3 percent of the area's homosexual men have had more than 30 partners, and 87.8 percent have had more than 15, the research found. As a result, 55.1 percent of homosexual males in Shoreland -- known as Chicago's "gay center" -- have at least one sexually transmitted disease, researchers said. The three-year study on the sexual habits of Chicago's citizens will appear in the upcoming book, "The Sexual Organization of The City" (University of Chicago Press), due out this spring.[85]

In September of 2006, the Agape Press reported the following regarding homosexuality and promiscuity:

“

A survey by The Advocate, a homosexual magazine, revealed that promiscuity is a reality among homosexuals. The poll found that 20 percent of homosexuals said they had had 51-300 different sex partners in their lifetime, with an additional 8 percent having had more than 300. Unprotected homosexual sex is also a concern among health professionals. A survey in Ireland by the Gay Men's Health Project found that almost half of homosexuals said they were having unprotected sex.... The fact that many homosexuals appear to live their lives in sexual overdrive does not seem to concern leaders in the movement. In an editorial from the same issue (August 15) in which the survey results were published, The Advocate said: "[Homosexuals] have been proud leaders in the sexual revolution that started in the 1960s, and we have rejected attempts by conservatives to demonize that part of who we are."[86]

In November of 2007 the news organization One News Now reported the following regarding Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth remarks about the spead of AIDS via male homosexual promiscuity and a conference on AIDS featuring Pastor Rick Warren and Senator Hillary Clinton:

“

Pro-family activist Peter LaBarbera says he shares Pastor Warren's desire to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS but wonders what solutions a politician who is an ardent supporter of the homosexual agenda has to offer in combating the disease. "He says that he's a co-belligerent with people who he disagrees with on other issues," notes LaBarbera, "[so] I guess the question would be: does he disagree strongly with Hillary Clinton's approach to homosexuality and even the AIDS crisis?" Although he admits he is skeptical of what solutions a defender of the homosexual lifestyle like Clinton has to offer churches for fighting the HIV/AIDS crisis, the activist is calling on Warren and Clinton to use the upcoming summit to tackle the problem of homosexual promiscuity, which often results in HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. "We have homosexual bath houses operating in major cities across this nation," LaBarbera notes. "These are places where men go for anonymous sexual liaisons with other men. They're bringing the HIV virus back to innocent women, because some of these men do not identify as 'gay' and they're even married. So what about that aspect of the AIDS crisis?"[87]

Another study involving male homosexuality examined the sexual profiles of 2,583 older homosexual men and was published in the Journal of Sex Research in 1997.^[88] This study of male homosexuality found that 2.7 percent of these men claimed to have had sex with one partner only. ^[89]

The David P. McWhirter, M.D., and Andrew M. Mattison, M.S.W., Ph.D. study reported in their 1984 work The Male Couple: How Relationships Develop stated that in regards to relationships involving male homosexuality that "all couples with a relationship lasting more than 5 years have incorporated some provision for outside sexual activity in their relationships."^[90]

Homosexual Male Promiscuity in the United States in the 1970s

Dr. Hewitt wrote the following regarding homosexual male promiscuity in United States in the 1970's in the Journal of Sex Research:

“

Gay liberation in the 1970s was accompanied by an explosion of gay sexuality, especially in tolerant cities such as New York City and San Francisco, where gays concentrated. The director of the New York City Department of Health describes the situation as follows: "By their own reports, many men had large numbers of sexual partners annually, often numbering in the hundreds and even in the thousands. Frenetic casual and anonymous sex was widespread among homosexual and bisexual men. Bathhouses, back rooms of bars and clubs, and other public settings such as erotic bookstores and movie "heaters were, in effect, wide open...these practices and more were accompanied by extremely high rates of sexually transmitted diseases and set the scene for the rapid transmission of HIV once it appeared in the late 1970s. Rates of rectal and oral gonorrhea in males soared...[91]

What about Domestic Violence?

Studies report that homosexual couples have significantly higher incidences of violent behavior. For example, a recent study by the Canadian government states that "violence was twice as common among homosexual couples compared with heterosexual couples".^[92] According the American College of Pediatricians who cite several studies, "Violence among homosexual partners is two to three times more common than among married heterosexual couples."^[93] In addition, the American College of Pediatricians states the following: "Homosexual partnerships are significantly more prone to dissolution than heterosexual marriages with the average homosexual relationship lasting only two to three years."^[94]

In June of 2004, the journal Nursing Clinics of North America reported the following regarding homosexuality and domestic violence:

“

Domestic abuse is under-reported in the gay community... Male-on-male same-sex domestic violence also has been reported in couples where one or both persons are HIV-positive. Intimate partner abuse and violence include humilation, threatening to disclose HIV status, withholding HIV therapy, and harming family members or pets.[95]

Okay... let's review.
The left claims a guy (R) who admitted he had an affair but opposes gay marriage is a hypocrite because his having an affair is more of a threat to traditional marriage than homosexual marriage... but another guy (D) is a hero for having an affair with a male prostitute... while studies show homosexuals are most promiscuous and most likely to commit adultery and in addition are the most likely to commit domestic violence vs traditional marriage partners.

So who is the bigger hypocrite and who is the "bigger threat" to marriage according to the left's own criteria. (rhetorical question) Perhaps those who throw stones shouldn't hide behind glass walls.

Senator Ensign will end up resigning... while Barney Frank gets appointed to high level positions in the Obama admin. and continues to get phatt off of the failed housing industry.

Beyond hypocrisy.... Republicans are no saints, but the culture of corruption on the Democrat side boggles the mind.

Democrats Admit Obama Broke Law that He Co-Sponsored

After being briefed today on President Obama’s firing last week of Gerald Walpin, Inspector General of the Corporation for National and Community Service, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said the president did not abide by the same law that he co-sponsored – and she wrote – about firing Inspectors General.

“The White House has failed to follow the proper procedure in notifying Congress as to the removal of the Inspector General for the Corporation for National and Community Service,” McCaskill said. “The legislation which was passed last year requires that the president give a reason for the removal.”

McCaskill, a key Obama ally, said that the president’s stated reason for the termination, “Loss of confidence’ is not a sufficient reason.”

And yet the government controlled news media is silent on this... hmmm imagine that. Remember how they howled when Bush fired a bunch of attorneys from his staff? (which was legal by the way)

Antonio Gramsci's "Grand Plan" ...Sounds Familiar

I found this article from 1999 titled "Gramsci's Grand Plan".
(Antonio Gramsci 1891-1937) which is very prophetic if you look around today.

"Born in obscurity on the island of Sardinia in 1891, Gramsci would not have been considered a prime candidate to impact significantly the 20th century. Gramsci studied philosophy and history at the University of Turin, and soon became a dedicated Marxist, joining the Italian Socialist Party. Immediately after the First World War, he established his own radical newspaper, The New Order, and shortly afterwards helped in the founding of the Italian Communist Party. "

As we shall see, Gramsci's shrewd assessment of the true essence of Marxism and of mankind makes his writings among the most powerful in this century. While Gramsci himself would die an ignominious and lonely death in a fascist prison, his thoughts would attain a life of their own and rise up to menace the world.

What are these ideas?

"Gramsci's signal contribution was to liberate the Marxist project from the prison of economic dogma, thereby dramatically enhancing its ability to subvert Christian society."

"If we were to take the ideological pronouncements of Marx and Lenin at face value, we would believe — as have millions of their deluded disciples — that the uprising of the workers was inevitable, and that all that was to be done was to mobilize the underclass through propaganda, thereby sparking universal revolution. Of course, this premise is invalid, yet it remained inflexible doctrine among Communists — at least, for public consumption.

However, the hard core of the Communist movement consisted of ruthless criminals, clear-eyed in their understanding of the intellectual errors of Marxism, who were willing to employ any necessary means to obtain the power they sought. For such hardened, hate-intoxicated conspirators, ideology is a tactic, a means of mobilizing supporters and rationalizing criminal actions.

Those who accept uncritically the idea that "Communism is dead" fail to understand the true nature of the enemy. Communism is not an ideology in which one believes. Rather, it is a criminal conspiracy in which one enlists.

In no single instance has Communism ever achieved power by means of any popular revolutionary upheaval, but always by force or subterfuge. The only popular revolutionary upheavals recorded in the 20th century have been anti-Marxist "counter-revolutions," such as the revolt in Berlin in 1954 and the Hungarian uprising of 1956.

Looking back on the 20th century, it is clear that Marx was wrong in his assumption that most workers and peasants were dissatisfied with their places in, and alienated from, their societies, that they were seething with resentment against the middle and upper classes, or that they in any way were predisposed to revolution. Moreover, wherever Communism achieved power, its use of unprecedented levels of violence, coercion, and repression have generated underground opposition at home and militant opposition abroad, making endless killing and repression endemic to Marxism and essential for Communist survival. All of these undeniable facts, when examined honestly, posed insurmountable difficulties insofar as further extensions of Communist power were concerned, and assured some kind of ultimate crisis for Marxism.

While the foregoing is obvious to perceptive observers now, looking back from the vantage point of our time and after more than eight decades of experience with the reality of Communism in power, we begin to understand something of the insightfulness of Antonio Gramsci when we realize that what is evident now, at the close of the millennium, was evident to him when the Soviet regime was in its infancy and Communism still largely untried conjecture.

In the Gramscian view workers and peasants were not, by and large, revolutionary-minded and they harbored no desire for the destruction of the existing order. Most had loyalties beyond, and far more powerful than, class considerations, even in those instances where their lives were less than ideal. More meaningful to ordinary people than class solidarity and class warfare were such things as faith in God and love of family and country. These were foremost among their overriding allegiances.

Such attractiveness as Communist promises might possess among the working classes was, moreover, diminished by Communist brutalities and by heavy-handed totalitarian methods. Stirring the aristocratic and bourgeois classes to action, these negative attributes were so terrifying and sobering that militant anti-Marxist organizations and movements sprang up everywhere, effectively putting a halt to plans for Communist expansion. With all of this easily apparent to him, Gramsci turned his excellent mind to saving Marxism by analyzing and solving these questions.

Subverting Christian Faith

The civilized world, Gramsci deduced, had been thoroughly saturated with Christianity for 2,000 years and Christianity remains the dominant philosophical and moral system in Europe and North America. Practically speaking, civilization and Christianity were inextricably bound together. Christianity had become so thoroughly integrated into the daily lives of nearly everyone, including non-Christians living in Christian lands, it was so pervasive, that it formed an almost impenetrable barrier to the new, revolutionary civilization Marxists wish to create. Attempting to batter down that barrier proved unproductive, since it only generated powerful counter-revolutionary forces, consolidating them and making them potentially deadly. Therefore, in place of the frontal attack, how much more advantageous and less hazardous it would be to attack the enemy's society subtly, with the aim of transforming the society's collective mind gradually, over a period of a few generations, from its former Christian worldview into one more harmonious to Marxism.

Whereas conventional Marxist-Leninists were hostile towards the non-Communist left, Gramsci argued that alliances with a broad spectrum of leftist groups would prove essential to Communist victory. In Gramsci's time these included, among others, various "anti-fascist" organizations, trade unions, and socialist political groups. In our time, alliances with the left would include radical feminists, extremist environmentalists, "civil rights" movements, anti-police associations, internationalists, ultra-liberal church groups, and so forth. These organizations, along with open Communists, together create a united front working for the transformation of the old Christian culture.

Free Will Slaves

Gramsci believed that if Communism achieved "mastery of human consciousness," then labor camps and mass murder would be unnecessary. How does an ideology gain such mastery over patterns of thought inculcated by cultures for hundreds of years? Mastery over the consciousness of the great mass of people would be attained, Gramsci contended, if Communists or their sympathizers gained control of the organs of culture — churches, education, newspapers, magazines, the electronic media, serious literature, music, the visual arts, and so on. By winning "cultural hegemony," to use Gramsci's own term, Communism would control the deepest wellsprings of human thought and imagination. One need not even control all of the information itself if one can gain control over the minds that assimilate that information. Under such conditions, serious opposition disappears since men are no longer capable of grasping the arguments of Marxism's opponents. Men will indeed "love their servitude," and will not even realize that it is servitude.

Steps in the Process

The first phase in achieving "cultural hegemony" over a nation is the undermining of all elements of traditional culture. Churches are thus transformed into ideology-driven political clubs, with the stress on "social justice" and egalitarianism, with worship reduced to trivialized entertainment, and with age-old doctrinal and moral teachings "modernized" or diminished to the point of irrelevancy. Genuine education is replaced by "dumbed down" and "politically correct" curricula, and standards are reduced dramatically. The mass media are fashioned into instruments for mass manipulation and for harassing and discrediting traditional institutions and their spokesmen. Morality, decency, and old virtues are ridiculed without respite. Tradition-minded clergymen are portrayed as hypocrites and virtuous men and women as prudish, stuffy, and unenlightened.

Erasing traditional culture and Values
Crucial to the Gramscians' success is the disappearance of all memory of the old civilization and way of life. The older America of unregulated lives, honest government, clean cities, crime-free streets, morally edifying entertainment, and a family-oriented way of life is no longer vivid in the minds of many Americans. Once it is gone completely, nothing will stand in the way of the new Marxist civilization, which demonstrates as nothing else that through the Gramscian method it is indeed possible to "Marxize the inner man," as Malachi Martin wrote in The Keys of This Blood. Then and only then, writes Fr. Martin, "could you successfully dangle the utopia of the 'Workers' Paradise' before his eyes, to be accepted in a peaceful and humanely agreeable manner, without revolution or violence or bloodshed."

The Frankfurt School

With respect to the subject of the undermining of the American family, and to many other aspects of the Gramscian technique, let us explore briefly the story of the Frankfurt School. This organization of leftist intellectuals, also known as the Frankfurt Institute for Social Research, was founded in the 1920s in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. There it flourished amidst the decadence of the Weimar period, both compounding and feeding off the decadence, and extending its influence throughout the country.

With Hitler's acquisition of the chancellorship in 1933, the leftist stalwarts of the Frankfurt School fled Germany for the United States, where they soon established a new institute at Columbia University. As is characteristic of such men, they repaid their debt to the U.S. for sheltering them from Nazi brutality by turning their attention to what they regarded as the injustices and social deficiencies inherent to our system and society. Immediately they set about devising a program of revolutionary reform for America.

Max Horkheimer, one of the notables of the Frankfurt School, determined that America's profound allegiance to the traditional family was a mark of our national inclination towards the same fascist system from which he had fled. Explaining this connection between fascism and the American family, he declared: "When the child respects in his father's strength a moral relationship and thus learns to love what his reason recognizes to be a fact, he is experiencing his first training for the bourgeois authority relationship."

Commenting critically on Horkheimer's theory, Arthur Herman writes in The Idea of Decline in Western History: "The typical modern family, then, involves 'sado-masochistic resolution of the Oedipus complex,' producing a psychological cripple, the 'authoritarian personality.' The individual's hatred of the father is suspended and remains unresolved, becoming instead an attraction for strong authority figures whom he obeys unquestioningly." The traditional patriarchal family is thus a breeding ground for fascism, according to Horkheimer, and charismatic authority figures — men like Hitler and Mussolini — are the ultimate beneficiaries of the "authoritarian personality" instilled by the traditional family and culture.

Theodor W. Adorno, another notable of the Frankfurt School, underscored Horkheimer's theory with his own study, published in book form as The Authoritarian Personality, which he authored together with Else Frenkel-Brunswik, Daniel J. Levinson, and R. Nevitt Sanford. Upon closer examination, it became apparent to critics that the research on which The Authoritarian Personality was based was pseudo-sociological, flawed in its methodology and skewed in its conclusions. But, the critics were ignored.

America, Adorno and his research team pronounced, was ripe for its own, home-grown fascist takeover. Not only was the American population hopelessly racist and anti-Semitic, but it had far too acquiescent an attitude towards authority figures such as fathers, policemen, clergy, military leaders, and so forth. It was also far too obsessed with such "fascist" notions as efficiency, cleanliness, and success, for these qualities revealed an inward "pessimistic and contemptuous view of humanity," a view that leads, Adorno held, to fascism."

The 2010 elections are just around the corner and this is the time for the conservative majority to once again rise up and put the adults back in charge.

"PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallop Thus far in 2009, 40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This represents a slight increase for conservatism in the U.S. since 2008, returning it to a level last seen in 2004. The 21% calling themselves liberal is in line with findings throughout this decade, but is up from the 1990s.

Iranian election results depends on who's counting the votes... and in this case the Supreme Leader and Mahmoud Ahmanutjob (spelled Ahmadinejad) don't need to actually "count" the votes since they already knew the winner long before election day.

Of course the author of the piece had a horse in the race...

Anyway, after one more quote from his latest hate-filled attack-fest, lets take a quick look at which party has the most racists in it... mmmmmkay?

Reasonable Guess - The Politicians who walked out on the new Republican President were probably not Republicans. According the above quote, it was the Democrats who were pro-slavery.

Democrats were in control of the South during the time that the KKK was started. If someone is politically active enough to burn crosses, they probably also voted, and you can bet that the members of the KKK weren't voting for the Republican Party who freed the slaves.

Reasonable Guess - The KKK members were Democrat voters. Also, since KKK members were Control Freak enough to spend time burning crosses and lynching people, they probably ran for political office too, in order to achieve more Control. As Republican hating Democrat voters, why wouldn't KKK members be Democrat Politicians if they ran for office?

Fact - U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd, who is in office today, was a KKK Grand Wizard, he is also a Democrat. the Democratic Party has KKK members in high political office today.

Fact - Most blacks in the South were Republicans in the 1800s, because they new that it was the Party of Lincoln that freed them.

It seems that "Don't mess with Joe" Biden was asked to justify the Obama administration claim that 150,000 jobs have been "saved or created" in the first 100 days.

Biden's answer was that 14,000 teachers in NY that were given notice are still on the job.

You know how teachers' unions work: a teacher can't be fired for incompetence. Not without a team of lawyers and an act of Congress, at least. It figures the 14,000 teachers that were noticed were the most incompetent that could be isolated. Not having the money to pay them provided an excellent reason to get them off the payroll.

A friend of mine recently said "Led Zeppelin sucks" and is one of the most "overrated" bands of all time. I'm not sure what his definition of "sucks" and "overrated" is, but I would guess that most of the bands he listens to can only wish they were as successful as Led Zeppelin and can only wish someone knew enough about them to say they were overrated.... or rated at all for that matter. The less than shocking "landslide victory" for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran, the protests in the streets that followed and the reaction of the Iranian government to those protests will rapidly provide us with a clear picture of what kind of "leader" Barack Hussein Obama really is providing he is a leader at all.

Christianity is under attack on the political, educational and media front. Despite what you may hear, the founding fathers made it extremely clear as to the intent of the founding documents.

The founding fathers guaranteed us “freedom OF religion” and not “freedom from religion.” Some ill informed say the Constitution has built a “separation of church and State” wall to guide us in these hard-to-define times. It’s only hard to define to those that don’t agree. It’s actually pretty straight forward to those that care to read it. I challenge anyone to find that statement or any similar statement in the Constitution. It doesn’t exist.

Emotions neither prove or disprove facts. The bottom-line is this country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles; they have been a part of our heritage and culture since the Mayflower. Our third President, Thomas Jefferson, who many historical illiterates claim created the statements in the Federalist papers supporting a ‘separation of church and state,’ said the following: “God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God?...Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.”

Of course, the media and politicians have help. Unfortunately, thanks to public education going from the 3 “R’s” to the 3 “D’s”, degeneracy, disorientation and deconstruction, the education and learning about our Constitution and the founding fathers has all but been eliminated from the public education forum. If you want solid history, good luck. You’ll have to find it elsewhere. Textbooks have become “Fact-Free” zones where the ‘founding fathers’ are now ‘framers.’We certainly can’t be sexist.

Our public schools, the great supporters of the dumbing down of America will now teach “Why Derrick has Two Daddies” before they will teach founding principles. They’ll teach kids how to use condoms before they will teach about the founding fathers. They will support Gay/Lesbian clubs and have Gay awareness day, but heaven forbid we have a church day or Christian club that meets on school property. They create schools for gays and lesbians, but can’t post the 10 commandments. The pledge has all but been eliminated; don’t want to offend any ACLU wannabies and atheists. If I didn’t know better, I might think public education has adopted the motto of the “Bonehead Club of Dallas.” It reads, “To learn more and more about less and less, until eventually we shall know everything about nothing.”

Now let’s ask, is a moment of silence coupled with the “Pledge” and the posting of the 10 commandments going to devastate young minds, especially when compared to many of the activities being actively endorsed in public schools?
That is unless; there is an underlying agenda. It’s my opinion, that prayer and the 10 commandments aren’t even the real issue. God is the real issue and until God has been removed and eliminated in every way the onslaught will not stop. The only way to eliminate God is to re-write history books, change what is being taught and encourage sexually deviant behavior. God must be attacked on every front. If they can’t get it through the proper political process, then they force it through the liberal courts.

Subverting A Culture... How To

"If I were given the ignoble task of subverting a culture, I have a fair idea of what my agenda would be.

First, I would trivialize its religion. Since religion is an essential ingredient of culture (the word’s very root betrays its indissoluble link to religion), I would assure that the civil government discouraged religion by banning it from any place in government itself, and especially in education. I would be shrewd however. I would not state plainly I was trying to eliminate the traditional religion; instead I would appeal to the fact that civil government should not be in the religion-promoting business in the first place. If schools in this culture were the province of the government rather than of private citizens, I could excise religion much more easily.

I would argue loudly that the rights of children would be violated if some were forced to watch others pray or talk about their religion. I would declare in the most altruistic and moral tones that religion has its place in church and nowhere else. Since youth are more moldable than adults, I am convinced this tactic would be especially effective. In this way I would convince naive but fair minded people that I was being neutral, when in reality, I would be using neutrality as a guise to promote my hidden agenda. In the literature and acting of that culture I would depict the culture’s traditional religion and its followers as hypocritical, bumbling and unsophisticated. I would render it likely that the youth would consider the traditional religion a panacea for foolish old women and emasculated men, the mentally and emotionally unstable.

Next, I would sever the foundational associations of the culture, voluntary or otherwise, since these, like religion, are the adhesive that holds cultures together. I would devalue the importance of the idea of family in that culture. I would assert that nobody has a right to say which family is the “right” family, all the while knowing I was concerned only that one sort of family, the traditional one, be weakened or destroyed.

I would try to transfer the dependence on the traditional family for livelihood in difficult financial times and in old age to the civil government, which I would increasingly control. I would make it easy for families to break up by keeping the members away from each other most of the day and by allowing one parent to renege on the marital oath for the most trivial reasons. I would persuade the citizens that they themselves, and not their children, are most important, and that they should entrust the bothersome children to the daily care of me and my subversive friends, who would ceaselessly inculcate into the children’s tractable minds our own subversive ideas.

Afterward, I would undermine the money system of the culture by stressing instant gratification and government interference. I would convince the citizens of the culture that wealth and possessions are the most important things in life, and that they can have both before they earn them by work. I would encourage them to borrow wealth and possessions on the promise to pay back the lenders, and then push the citizens to borrow beyond what they can reasonably repay. I would do this quite easily by displaying a certain “standard of living” as normative, inciting peer pressure to cause the recalcitrant to conform if they are to expect to be treated as “normal.”

I would assure that the government, in addition, spends more money than it raises by taxation. The way I would accomplish this would be by persuading the government leaders to promise free wealth, possessions and services to the citizens (who would already be satisfied with nothing less than more wealth and possessions) if the citizens would let them become (or remain) leaders. As a result, the citizenry is tied to debt by leaders who must spend into debt in order to please them. Consequently both the citizens and the government would suffer from severe debt.

Then I would insist to the leaders that the only way to survive debt would be to inflate the currency even more so citizens could pay off some debts, an action that would make debtors happy but creditors and investors angry since money invested and lent loses value just like money owed. Investors would have no incentive to reinvest. This factor would eventually and inevitably cause the economy to collapse.

Then I would debase the arts, a staple of culture. I would convince artists it is chic to compose or perform senseless, nihilistic works of art. I would insist they deal with cheap, bawdy and sensual themes, calculated to drive the youth to both fantasy and despair. I would do everything imaginable to obscure the traditional music of the culture. By various media I would have performers display bizarre behavior and tout it everywhere as normal. This would cause people to abandon the type of living that shaped the culture in the first place.

Finally, I would encourage all forms of countercultural deportment, especially countercultural morals and defy anyone to restrict me. If they did, I would accuse them of trying to limit freedom. I would use freedom as a means to subvert freedom. I would appeal to noble themes like freedom and equality in order to crush freedom and equality and enthrone my own subversive agenda. For instance, under the guise of personal freedom I would restrict the freedom of local areas to legislate against moral evils in their community, evils whose proliferation would enhance the subversion of the culture.

Moreover, under the guise of economic freedom I would limit the freedom of some citizens by confiscating their property in order to limit the freedom of other citizens by keeping them dependent on the government for subsistence. Under the guise of equality I would render the culture radically unequal by tipping economic advantage in favor of those who are likely to preserve my subversive program and shouting down those who appeal for equal time against my agenda. I would operate allegedly on the assumption that all are deserving of the policies of equality, but some are more equally deserving than others.

Gratifyingly, attempts of such subversion are highly unlikely to happen in our United States."

Politics and God... Our Founding Fathers... and Destruction of the Christian Sub-culture

There has been a lot of discussion (see posts below) on Keith Giles and his home Church philosophy. Giles condemns traditional Christians for letting their religious beliefs direct their political beliefs and seeks to subvert and destroy what he calls the existing Christian sub-culture.

I thank GOD (and Jesus) that our forefathers and founders of this great nation had BOTH a strong belief in God AND a strong sense of the importance of politics.

For if not for our forefathers having faith in God and religion while being highly active in politics at the same time.... the declaration of independence and bill of rights would not exist, none of us would be having this discussion right now and Keith Giles and company would not have the freedom to start home churches or destroy anything as America would not exist.

Sometimes I really wonder if people actually think about the consequences of their actions and play out the reality of their suggestions.

Of course Christians should use their beliefs and faith to direct their political beliefs and actions.
To do otherwise would just be absurd and self defeating.

Obama's "Pay to Play" Corrupt Chicago Politics On Display

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama on Thursday tapped four big Democratic Party donors for plum ambassadorships in Europe and Latin America while naming six career diplomats to posts in Africa, the Mideast and the Pacific.

Washington lawyer Howard Gutman, who raised more than $500,000 for Obama's campaign and personally contributed the maximum $4,600 to it, was nominated to be the next U.S. envoy to Belgium, the White House said in a statement.

Gutman also contributed $2,300 to now Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that tracks money in politics.

Obama named former Virginia Lt. Gov. Donald Beyer to be ambassador to Switzerland and Luxembourg. Beyer, who made his money as a car dealer, raised more than $500,000 for Obama and also contributed $4,600 to his campaign, according to the center.

Vinai Thummalapally, a Colorado business executive and Obama friend who raised between $100,000 and $200,000 for the campaign and donated $4,500 to it, was named the next U.S. ambassador to Belize. Thummalapally's wife, Barbara, contributed $2,800 to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Obama also named Washington lawyer Mark Gitenstein, who donated more than $4,000 to now Vice President Joe Biden's presidential campaign and contributed $1,500 to Clinton's campaign to be ambassador to Romania.

According to a Rasmussen poll, more voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats to handle the economy, by a margin of 45-39. Scott Rasmussen notes that “this is the first time in over two years of polling that the GOP has held the advantage on this issue.” Last month, he had the Democrats holding a one-point lead, but they lost it in June’s polling. $600 Billion Tax Hike Coming as Down Payment on $1.5 Trillion Obamacare

June 12 (Bloomberg) -- Health-care overhaul legislation being drafted by House Democrats will include $600 billion in tax increases and $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel said.

Democrats will work on the bill’s details next week as they struggle through “what kind of heartburn” it will cause to agree on how to pay for revamping the health-care system, Rangel, a New York Democrat, said today. The measure’s cost is reaching well beyond the $634 billion President Barack Obama proposed in his budget request to Congress as a 10-year down payment for the policy changes.

Asked whether the cost of a health-care overhaul would be more than $1 trillion over a decade, Rangel said, “the answer is yes.” Some Senate Republicans, including Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, say the costs will likely exceed $1.5 trillion.

No sooner was George W. Bush declared the winner of a hard-fought presidential election than National Council of Churches General Secretary, Rev. Robert Edgar, proffered the following counsel: "This election confirmed that we are a divided nation, not only politically but in terms of our interpretations of God's will."

To understand this, one need only consider the NCC's history.

Founded in 1950, the New York City-based NCC has, for more than half a century, remained faithful to the legacy of its forerunner, the Communist front-group known as the Federal Council of Churches. At one time an unabashed apostle of the Communist cause, the NCC has today recast itself as a leading representative of the so-called religious Left. Adhering to what it has described as "liberation theology"--that is, Marxist ideology disguised as Christianity--the NCC lays claim to a membership of 36 Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox Christian denominations, and some 50 million members in over 140,000 congregations.

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the NCC has soft-pedaled its radical message, dressing up its demands for global collectivization and its rejection of democratic capitalism in the garb of religious teachings. Yet the organization's history suggests that it was--and remains--a devout backer of a gallery of socialist governments. In the 1950s and 1960s, under cover of charity, the NCC provided financial succor to the Communist regimes in Yugoslavia and Poland, funneling money to both through its relief agency, the Church World Service. In the 1970s, working with its Geneva-based parent organization, the World Council of Churches, the NCC supplied financial support for Soviet-sponsored incursions into Africa, aiding the terrorist rampages of Communist guerillas in Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, and Angola.

Christian communism is a form of religious communism based on Christianity. It is a theological and political theory based upon the view that the teachings of Jesus Christ compel Christians to support communism as the ideal social system. Although there is no universal agreement on the exact date when Christian communism was founded, many Christian communists assert that evidence from the Bible suggests that the first Christians, including the Apostles, created their own small communist society in the years following Jesus' death and resurrection. As such, many advocates of Christian communism argue that it was taught by Jesus and practiced by the Apostles themselves.

Christian communism can be seen as a radical form of Christian socialism. Christian communists may or may not agree with various parts of Marxism. Under the measure, veterinary care coverage would be fully subsidized by tax dollars. As a result of the announcement, a three-way squabble has erupted between fiscal conservatives, animal rights groups and pro-human organizations.

Health and Human Services officials found themselves scrambling to clarify who would be eligible for the controversial Pet Health Insurance Program, or PHIP. The program would allow states to use federal funds to cover veterinarian visits, preventive care, neutering -- even hairball extractions. For All Things Considered, NPR's Julie Rovner reports.

"Opponents of the measure argue that since house pets like gerbils don't pay taxes, they shouldn't receive benefits. But animal rights activists applaud the change. Valerie Austin, vice president of Animals First -- an advocacy group that has pushed for full rights for pets -- points out that the federal government provides aid to illegal immigrants and children, even though those groups don't pay taxes."

The largest group of doctors in the country has made it clear that it is not comfortable with legislation that would twist the country's health care system into a Euro-style scheme that "threatens to restrict patient choice."

With 250,000 members, the American Medical Association has some heavy political clout and deep resources. It will need to use everything it has if it is to help shield the nation from a health care disaster being engineered by Democrats and their constituents.

Washington's latest fevered dream for health care is a mutation called the "public option," which is just another way of saying "government-run" without having to actually do so.

In this system, the federal government would offer medical insurance, subsidized by the taxpayers, in competition with the private insurance industry.

Program advocates say it would bring down costs, since an enormous federal program could cut reimbursement rates for providers and deliver coverage for the uninsured. Some supporters gloatingly admit they believe the public option will eventually eliminate the private insurance market, leaving government to operate a single-payer system — which is their ultimate goal.

And he has a war in Pakistan and a war brewing in Palestine that he can't control.

And now the UN General Assembly has a Libyan president, making symbolic the control of that organization by the medievalists of the Islamic bloc.

The left is on the run in the European Union. The socialist government of England is about to fall..."

Of course that won't happen and his "apology" was less than sincere and ended up just being another lame tactless joke.

What Letterman and those of his ilk don't understand is that the more they attack Sarah Palin, the more we like her... and the more we dislike them right back.

The Hypocrisy of the New Christian Left

Those on the left believe that the Christian right is wrong for letting their religious beliefs impact their politics. So what do those same people say about the Christian left and their pulpit politics?

Following the 2004 election loss for Democrats, the left systematically planned and executed a political/religious movement designed specifically to counter the Christian right that had grown and happened naturally over time not by design of the Republican party.

(CBS NEWS) July 10 2006- At a church in Washington, hundreds of committed Christians met recently and tried to map out a strategy to get their values into the political debate.

But these are not the conservative Christian values which have been so influential lately. This is the religious left.

"Jesus called us to love our neighbor, love our enemy, care for the poor, care for the outcast, and that's really the moral core of where we think the nation ought to go," Dr. Bob Edgar, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches told CBS News correspondent Russ Mitchell.

So, it remains to be seen whether there's any action behind the words. But there's no doubt they're on a mission.

That was from 2006 and now we see it in full bloom where the President's own pastor is an America hating pundit spewing anti-Republican politics from the pulpit on a daily basis and pastors in every city preaching leftwing talking points to their flock while proclaiming those on the right need to adhere to separation of state and church.

Yesterday, Curt posted the extraordinary news that the Obama Administration will now treat terrorists captured on the battlefield the same way we treat criminals apprehened in this country.

An excerpt from the Weekly Standard report:

When 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was captured on March 1, 2003, he was not cooperative. “I’ll talk to you guys after I get to New York and see my lawyer,” he said, according to former CIA Director George Tenet.

Of course, KSM did not get a lawyer until months later, after his interrogation was completed, and Tenet says that the information the CIA obtained from him disrupted plots and saved lives. “I believe none of these successes would have happened if we had had to treat KSM like a white-collar criminal – read him his Miranda rights and get him a lawyer who surely would have insisted that his client simply shut up,” Tenet wrote in his memoirs.

If Tenet is right, it’s a good thing KSM was captured before Barack Obama became president. For, the Obama Justice Department has quietly ordered FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high value detainees captured and held at U.S. detention facilities in Afghanistan, according a senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee.

“When they mirandize a suspect, the first thing they do is warn them that they have the ‘right to remain silent,’” says Representative Pete Hoekstra, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee. “It would seem the last thing we want is Khalid Sheikh Mohammed or any other al-Qaeda terrorist to remain silent. Our focus should be on preventing the next attack, not giving radical jihadists a new tactic to resist interrogation–lawyering up.”

One thing is clear, though. A detainee who is not talking cannot provide information about future attacks. Had Khalid Sheikh Mohammad had a lawyer, Tenet wrote, “I am confident that we would have obtained none of the information he had in his head about imminent threats against the American people.”

Remember that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) was one of ONLY THREE terrorists to be waterboarded and revealed information that helped us foil additional terrorist plots and save American lives. Note: The Obama Administration continues to refuse to release the documents which show just what we learned from KSM.

This is the same KSM who masterminded the September 11th attacks on innocent U.S. citizens and the same man pictured threatening American journalist Daniel Pearl moments before he sawed off his head (video here).

Pulpit Pundits Seek to Destroy Traditional Christian Subculture

There is a lot of interest and discussion at a couple of my favorite Okie-related blogs on religion, primarily targeted at condemning and criticizing the so-called Christian-right for being so political instead of staying at home in your "home-based church" keeping your mouth shut and opinions to yourselves regarding politics... unless you lean left of course.

Oklahoma, like most states, has had a sudden rise in left-leaning Christian liberal Churches since the 2000 and 2004 election victories for George W Bush were attributed to the Christian-right. I have done several posts on Oklahoma's Pulpit Pundit Robin Meyers and others who all preach separation of state and church from the pulpit while preaching Democrat talking points and anti-Republican rhetoric from the pulpit in the same breath.

Keith Giles is a home-church planter in California.
He is also a writer, artist, and very prolific blogger with a half dozen or so sites.
His self described mission in life as a "Christian" is to destroy the existing Christian subculture.
From one of his many blogsites Subversive-1: "What is Subversive? It’s a systematic overthrow of one system or power by those working from within."

He supports "reducing abortions" by making them more available, supports gay marriage by telling Christians we shouldn't oppose it... or oppose anything else for that matter... except the war in Iraq of course.

To Giles, the liberation of millions of innocent Iraqi's is termed "killing innocent people" and fighting back on any level is out of the question... unless a Democrat is in power of course.

He has nothing but contempt for the traditional Christian church preaching instead his own brand of tolerance for all things... except the conservative Christian right of course.

"Destroying the Christian subculture from within".... hmmm where have we heard of this before?

At least Giles is honest in that regard.

How does it work in Czechoslovakia? The Christian Century interviewed Dr. Hromadka during the international Protestant conferences at Lund, Sweden (TIME, Sept. 1), last week reported, in third-person paraphrase, Hromadka's answers to the question, as checked and approved by Hromadka himself. Excerpts:

Cooperation with the Communists: "When Hromadka declared [his] attitude . . . many of his colleagues in the Czech church considered it a false step. Some even questioned his integrity . . . But now most of this has changed. There are still those who disagree, but they do not question his integrity—only his judgment. An increasing number of the younger students have come to take this position."

Policy as a Czech Christian: "There are not many choices ... If one will not work with the regime in its endeavor to reshape the old economic order, and tries to undermine it, one follows a path which can only lead to anarchy and ugly reaction . . ."

The Religion of Marxists: "Religion, of course, they consider an ideology and an opiate. In all this there is much with which Hromadka believes Christians would have to agree ... Relations with World Protestantism: "It was very encouraging to Hromadka . . . that he was permitted to come to Lund, which had not seemed at all a high probability. Nobody told 'him what to say, or even asked him what he intended to say . .' ."

The Impact of Communism on Theology: "This is our terribly difficult task. We cannot hide from this remorseless analysis of Christianity; we must confess how much has been hollow and unreal or worse. Obama's New Chairman of GM... "I Don't Know Anything About Cars"

June 10 (Bloomberg) --Obama's choice to run the auto industry Edward E. Whitacre Jr. built AT&T Inc. into the biggest U.S. provider of telephone service over a 43-year-career. By his own admission, he becomes chairman of General Motors Corp. knowing nothing about the auto industry.

“I don’t know anything about cars,” Whitacre, 67, said yesterday in an interview after his appointment. “A business is a business, and I think I can learn about cars. I’m not that old, and I think the business principles are the same.”

Obama Leads Democrats in Return To "Failed Policies of the Past"

Obama and his pals running our government are returning to the failed polices of the 1970's and 1990's in treating terrorist attacks (see Jihad or Holy war) as criminal acts instead of an act of war. Bill Clinton thought the first attack on the WTC was just a criminal act... to be dealt with by the criminal justice system.... he was wrong as we later learned.

Reading throatcutting, carbombing, airline highjacking cowards their Miranda rights and giving them a free lawyer is no way to fight terrorism... or as Obama now instructs us to call it... "manmade disasters". KSM was waterboarded instead and it saved thousands of innocent lives.

Just another example of "change" meaning change to the failed policies of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton on foreign policy.

Jeffrey Kulmayer, chief of reconciliation, Multi- National Corps – Iraq. As the Coalition turns over more security responsibilities to the Iraqi government in accordance with a U.S.-Iraq security agreement, assisting in the Sons of Iraq transfer-and-transition process is a key Coalition commitment, Kulmayer said.

FORWARD OPERATING BASE MAREZ, MOSUL, Iraq – U.S. Soldiers in Mosul provided medical aid to an enemy combatant who had attacked them with an improvised grenade, June 6.

“Rendering aid to someone one who just wounded one of your own is a testament to the strong sense of duty and honor displayed everyday by our Soldiers serving their nation in Iraq,” said Col. Thomas Guthrie, Multi-National Division – North chief of staff. “The Soldiers on patrol that day upheld Army values in a difficult, stressful situation, and we are proud of their service.”

The individual threw the grenade at a combined patrol in the Al Jededa South neighborhood. The Soldiers immediately used small arms fire against the attacker in an act of self-defense, wounding the individual in the abdomen and thigh.

The improvised grenade detonated, wounding one U.S. Soldier and causing damage to a vehicle.

After the blast, U.S. forces provided medical aid to the wounded enemy as well as their own Soldier, and conducted casualty evacuation for both to a nearby combat hospital.

“Not only was the act of providing medical aid to the enemy combatant the professional thing to do as U.S. Soldiers, it was simply the right thing to do,” said Col. Gregory Maxton, deputy commander of the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division in Mosul.

Hochenauer is forever concerned about the "separation of church and state", but has no problem with combining his left-wing liberal politics with the indoctrination of students all paid for (including his salary) by the same tax revenue he seems so concerned about... now that is funky.

Obama's Stimulus Plan is already a "Failure"

June 9 (Bloomberg) -- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said President Barack Obama’s plan to fix the economy through stimulus spending and government intervention to boost companies like General Motors Corp. has “already failed.”

“Bureaucrats managing companies does not work, politicians dominating the economy does not work,” Gingrich told about 2,000 Republicans who attended a fundraising dinner at the Washington Convention Center last night.

A spokesman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Ryan Rudominer, said the comments by Gingrich and other Republican speakers at the dinner showed they “would rather bank on failure than work with Democrats.”

Oklahoma Weather Coverage Beats Colorado Hands-Down

One thing Oklahoma has that is far superior to Colorado is the weather service coverage.
Today, as storms roll out from the foot of the Rocky Mountains to become major storms in Oklahoma and Kansas, Coloradoans are treated to last minute sirens and an official tornado warning. The local TV news has a scroll along the bottom and occasional break-in update.
But unlike Oklahoma we don't get to see close-ups of the radar with all the major streets put in and those little arrows which point the direction and speed of the storm cell, nor do we get those predictions of towns and times the storm is headed for. Oklahoma keeps you informed.

Here you get sirens, a loud speaker you can't really hear blaring in Spanish outside and a worthless motionless radar image... double-doppler do-little inside on the TV. Brilliant.

Oklahoma takes tornadoes seriously, as it should... Colorado pretends to take them seriously to cover it's rear, but the coverage is embarrassing at best.

Things the GOP Should Be Telling You About Obama and Company

The newly formed conservative "Falcon party" blames the GOP for rolling over and accepting the socialist/marxist policies of Barack Obama instead of fighting back for America.

"The Republicans have lost their nerve. Worse, they have lost their revulsion to socialism and Marxism and have devolved into politically correct, overfed capons. No other explanation suffices to illustrate their frightened, AWOL status on the following subjects:

• Obama’s mentor for roughly 10 years in Hawaii before he moved off to college was a man named Frank Marshall Davis. Obama reveals “’Frank” as his respected mentor and adviser in Dreams of My Father, and recalls him fondly – nights of reading poetry together, drinking booze, and learning about the plight of blacks in America. • Obama, in his first book “Dreams”, bluntly stated that once in college he actively sought out radicals as his friends. Quote: “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.” How many of these radical and Marxist friends did the MSM seek out for interviews? Absolutely ZERO. (Read “Obama’s Socialist Roots Run Deep” here).

• Obama was a member of the New Party in the early to mid 1990s. The New Party was a group of radical leftists founded in order to unite the Communists, the Socialist Workers Party, Community Organizers, and other various fringe groups into a more effective political party. There are photographs of Obama proudly standing with its leaders and articles in their publications celebrating his state Senate victory, and his membership in the NP. • Obama’s African father, Barack Hussein Obama Sr. was a card carrying Marxist. Though as a child Barack did not know his father, once older he began serious correspondence with him. And he subsequently dedicated his first book to this man in 1995. Obama Sr., amongst other things, advocated the “communal ownership of land and the forced confiscation of privately controlled land”, nationalizing foreign owned properties in his native Kenya, and “no limit to taxation if the benefits derived from public services by society measure up to the cost in taxation which they have to pay”. Pure Marxism, and a heavy influence on Obama Jr. (PrestoPundit has a good primer on Sr.’s marxism here.)

• Obama’s very own mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was also a dedicated leftist her entire life. Obama credits her with having the most influence on his young life, saying “”the dominant figure in my formative years… The values she taught me continue to be my touchstone when it comes to how I go about the world of politics.” She has been described by her friends as a “fellow traveler” – code word for communist. • Obama married Michelle Robinson. While Michelle can certainly be charming, she had to learn on the campaign trail to not portray America as a greatly flawed and depressing country – which of course only her husband could fix. Twice she stated she was “for the first time proud of my country” before such nonsense reached the media and she was forced to backpedal and whitewash. Her admonition for women to reject careers in “corporate America” in favor of “community service” reeks of class warfare. Her Princeton college thesis is pathetic race victim pablum sprinkled with hackneyed socialism. (Slate dissects it brutally here.)

• For twenty plus years Obama (later joined by wife and kids) sat in the pews of Trinity United Christian Church, home of his “great friend and mentor”, Pastor Jeremiah Wright. Everyone is familiar with Wright’s racist and anti-American rants that received some media coverage back in June. However, the larger story is that Rev. Wright and his ‘church’ are devoted adherents to Black Liberation Theology. Black Liberation Theology is a particularly noxious and ardently Marxist worldview. And Barack chose this institution willfully and continues to heap praise on it, despite being forced to finally toss the good Reverend under the bus during his campaign. • Barack Obama traveled to Kenya in 2006 as a sitting US Senator and campaigned (illegally so) for socialist presidential candidate, Raila Odinga. Odinga was defeated, but due to his post election agitation, riots ensued and more than 1500 Kenyan citizens were murdered. Kofi Annan brokered a power sharing agreement to stop the violence and Odinga was appointed Prime Minister. This is a man who was so enamored with Fidel Castro that he named his first born son Fidel in his honor. • Obama, as we have found out from the unrepentant terrorist himself since the election, was much more than just “neighbors” with Bill Ayers. According to Bill, they are “family friends”. That Obama was blatantly lying about the extent of their relationship is inarguable. But even the relationship that was ‘on record’, as political allies in Chicago politics, and allies in getting their education ‘agenda’ realized through the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, was highly exploitable. For starters, Ayers may have quit advocating bombings, but he never once stopped advocating Marxist dogma, especially as it applied to education in America. And Obama was in lockstep, going so far to give a glowing review of Ayers’ 1997 book, A Kind and Just Parent, praising the Marxist gibberish as “a searing and timely account of the juvenile court system”. It has also been shown that there is a very real possibility that Ayers either edited or co-wrote Obama’s ‘Dreams’ book. (NR’s Stanley Kurtz has more on the Obama/Ayers working relationship).

• Obama has an ongoing relationship with Code Pink, the Marxist, anti-war outfit most famous for protesting outside of Walter Reed military hospital and at military recruitment offices. Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans was a principle Obama ‘bundler’ during the campaign, raising tens of thousands of dollars, and arranging events for Obama. Even after Evans stormed the stage at a Palin speech and was arrested, the MSM refused to report on the links and friendship with Barack Hussein Obama. The above close associations are only a partial list, for brevity’s sake. But there are many others, including radical islamist and former black panther Khalid al-Mansour, a man identified by civil rights leader (and Obama supporter) Percy Sutton as ‘sponsoring’ Obama during his Harvard days. Obama denies knowing him, yet al-Mansour and Sutton told the media the opposite. Also, “close friend” Rashid al Khalidi, Black Liberation soulmate and anti-semite Louis Farrakhan, his self described “spiritual advisers” such as the Marxist priest Father Pfleger and Reverend James “house niggers” Meeks, official campaign artist and Marxist propagandist Shepard Fairey, and Communist Party USA board member Tim Wheeler, who was honored by Obama with his own blog on the official Obama/Biden campaign website; all remained virtual unknowns. It goes on and on.

So what prevented the GOP and the McCain campaign from exploiting the history of Barack Obama and telling the true story about his politics and worldview? Shouldn’t the urge to prevent such a radical from gaining the presidency of this blessed nation have outweighed any fear of being labeled racists and fear mongers by Obama’s cheering section in the MSM? Only a fool or a leftist could have been comforted by Obama’s attempts to sound notes of moderation during the general election.

There was a reason that Obama received endorsements from North Korea’s official news outlet, Cuba’s Fidel Castro, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, the Communist Party in the US (CPUSA), France’s Socialist Party, The New Black Panther Party, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the radical Palestinian party Hamas, British communist MP George Galloway, Libyan dictator Momar Kaddafi, Calyspo Louie’s Nation of Islam, Nicaraguan communist Daniel Ortega, and virtually every radical, leftist, socialist and Marxist organization in existence."

Toyota announced that US sales of the Prius (number one hybrid car on the planet) are DOWN by 45% in 2009 in spite of Toyota lowering the price of a Prius by $3,000.00.

"Authorities say the Myers' ultimately passed on more than 200 sensitive or classified State Department intelligence reports concerning Cuba over a 30 year period. Mrs. Myers' preferred method of passing the documents involved exchanging shopping carts with Cuban operatives at the grocery store.

The FBI said they communicated with their Cuban handlers using a short-wave radio kept in their apartment."

This is a perfect example of just how much those on the left "love"America.

Pelosi (D-CA) Still Attends CIA Briefings But Won't Say If They're Truthful

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) at her weekly press conference yesterday continued dodging questions about her accusations that the CIA lied to Congress about waterboarding terrorist detainees.

Pelosi was pressed by reporters on whether she continued to receive briefings and admitted that she is still receiving the CIA presentatoins. She refused to answer when this humble correspondent asked whether or not she believes intelligence professionals are still lying to her.

House Republican leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) spoke about Pelosi’s continued stonewalling at his own presser that followed shortly afterward.

“It’s been three weeks since I asked Speaker Pelosi to back up her allegations that the CIA lied to her or purposely misled her,” Boehner said. “She made this claim, and it's her responsibility to either put forward evidence that they did, in fact, lie to her, which would be a crime, or she needs to retract her statements and apologize. Allowing this to hang out there is unconscionable. And I just think the -- the silence from Speaker Pelosi is deafening.”

Boehner said that Pelosi “believes that it's just all going to go away. Well, just trust me: it's not going to go away.”

Mike's America has been keeping a sharp eye on Obama's approval ratings on this chart.

Mike wonders how long it will be before the lines cross and the disapproval line is higher than the approval. "We may be on the threshold of that moment".

While Obama remains popular personally, approval of his policies continues to plummet as voters wake up and realize this isn’t what they meant by change.

The trends suggest that Republicans need not have any fear in opposing Obama. In fact, the greater danger for Republicans is to fail to take advantage of this opportunity to highlight their differences with Obama and lose what little support they have left among the conservative base of the GOP.

Example- Dick Cheney's favorable/approval ratings continue to climb and in fact are higher than Nancy Pelosi's since he has been publicly defending the Bush administration for defending the country since 9/11/2001 and challenging Obama's claims of prior torture and abuse.

Dhimmitude: What is It?

As Muslim immigration to non-Muslim countries ramps up and Muslim breeding rates soar, we hear growing claims that Islam will easily overpower others by any of the various means of Jihad. Jihad is an Arabic word which comes from the root word "jahada"; which means "exerting utmost effort" or "to strive". In Islamic tradition it means "to struggle in the way of Allah" and is sometimes referred to as the sixth tenneth of Islam.

For the vast majority of practising Muslims Jihad means a Holy War, a military struggle in the name of Allah.
The entire sura 9 (The Sura of the Sword) of the Qur’an deals with Jihad and Muslim duties related to the spreading of Dar al Islam.
In addition to the above, the Hadith defines Jihad as a violent warfare against infidels on 199 occasions.
In contrast, the theory of a Greater Jihad or a peaceful inner struggle is based upon only one reference and from a non authoritative collection of Hadith.
Today all the legal Islamists posing as moderates try to convince their Western audience that it is the ‘Greater Jihad’, which is the most important for Muslim spiritual life but the actions of militant Islam everywhere seem to contradict this claim.

We need to study the position of Dhimmis – non-Muslims living under Islamic control to fully appreciate the joy of Islamic rule to know why we must halt Islam’s progress.

Dhimmitude is the position (allowed culture) of the non-Muslim under a comprehensive Islamic legal system that regulates every aspect of the non-Muslims’ lives and fixes their theological, legal, social, economic and political role - with no possibility of change as allah’s laws remain forever. Dhimmitude encompasses the behaviour and thinking of subjugated others in constant fear of their lives under Islam’s repressive religious apartheid system. Dhimmis are vulnerable, fearful, passive, servile, cowardly, inferior, alienated and humiliated in their state of dhimmitude. Eventually dhimmis internalise their debasement, degradation and fear and blame themselves for their situation, showing ‘gratitude’ to Islamic law which at least lets them live if they accept their debased, humiliated position and pay the taxes and required services to Islam. Dhimmis cannot conceive of dignity, equality or freedom and conceal their situation. Such concealment can still be seen in eastern Christians , the best apologists for systems which are destroying them (Ye’or p 108)
Dhimmitude is a culture that has forgotten its origins, its history and allows its achievements to be taken by Islam.

Dhimmis are slightly better off than HARBIs (non-Muslims living in an area outside Islamic control) because they have no rights and their blood and property are licit prey for any Muslim anytime. Infidels and apostates can be killed with impunity (Bat Ye’or p55).

Muslim and non-Muslim chroniclers and eyewitness reports often from travelling Europeans (historians, merchants, diplomats, clergy, scientists) note very similar treatment of others across the Islamic world across the centuries - complete degradation, humiliation and violence, special clothing and marks on dhimmi homes, travel restrictions, dhimmis passing Muslims on their left (impure side), unfair treatment in the courts etc, not to mention the obliterated villages, massive enslavement and deportations.
