If General Motors weathers the financial storm, its Chevy division should begin delivering thousands of new Camaros next spring.

Although some model intros are facing delays, GM, so far, is sticking with its plan to send 2010 Camaros to buyers in the first quarter of 2009.

"The wait is almost over," vows Ed Peper, GM North America vice president for Chevrolet. "The return of the Camaro gives sports-car enthusiasts a reason to rejoice."

A little rejoicing would be nice. There’s been so little of that in the automotive industry this year. Party hats were quickly doffed after GM celebrated its centennial, perhaps because some employees recalled that the venerable Oldsmobile brand vanished shortly after its 100th anniversary.

Frankly, an America without GM seems as inconceivable as a country without Coca-Cola. The ad slogans are embedded in our folklore: the "heartbeat of America." Unfortunately, they used that jingle to sell duds like the 1987 Corsica.

For the baby boom generation, it’s doubtful that any model is more memorable than the Camaro. Chevrolet’s 1967 answer to the Ford Mustang confirmed that "pony cars" were here to stay.

Now that Dodge has its Challenger on the street, it is imperative that the new Camaro be allowed to come out and play.

Camaro might not single-handedly save GM, but it will win hearts and minds. More than 600,000 prospects have requested information on the Camaro since production was announced, Chevy says.

Introducing the car on a television show called "My Own Worst Enemy" might have revealed more about GM’s self-image than the Camaro, but it’s hard to avoid Freudian slippage when your stock has lost 90 percent of its value and you’re asking the federal government to keep your engine running.

The new Camaro is the fifth generation of a model that was sold continuously for 35 years until the 2002 model. The fourth-generation’s F-Body platform was retired because of slow sales and plant overcapacity.

Based on the 2006 Camaro concept car, the 2010 model debuts as a coupe built on the Oshawa, Ontario, assembly line. The three trim levels are LS, LT and SS. The LS and LT trim levels will be powered by a 3.6-liter, 300-horsepower V6 that can be linked to an automatic transmission or six-speed stick. The SS is powered by the 6.2-liter, 422 horsepower V8. The RS appearance package will be available on both the LT and SS.

The design originated in the United States and was engineered by GM’s global rear-wheel-drive team in Australia.

There’s no mistaking the styling as Camaro, with design cues that hearken to the original 1967 model. A long front end and short rear deck reflect classic pony car proportions, and wheels pushed to the corners and buff fender forms present an aggressive stance.

A forward-V shape at the front and "gills" in the rear quarter panels merge with broad rear fender "shoulders" to amplify the Camaro credentials. Buyers can embellish the appearance with 18-, 19- or 20-inch wheels.

The dash also has a retro feel, with deeply recessed instrument binnacles with round gauges in square housings. An optional center-console gauge cluster derives from a similar option on 1969 Camaros. An ambient light package gives the cabin a cozy glow. Cloth upholstery is standard, but heated leather seats are optional.

In designing the power plants, GM engineers aimed for efficiency in addition to the performance Camaro has been known for.

A few months ago, fuel economy might have been a major concern. Now that pump prices are back to where they were before the Iraq war, that issue has vanished from the radar.

Rev. Robin Meyers Oklahoma's "Pulpit Pundit"

In case you don't know who he is... Reverend Dr. Robin Meyers is the pastor of the Mayflower Congregational Church in Oklahoma City and author of "Why The Christian Right is Wrong".
For the last 12 years, Meyers’ sermons have been broadcast in Oklahoma on Sundays at 9:30 am, KOKC AM 1520. The program has become the most listened to religious broadcast in Oklahoma. (according to their website)



Rev. Meyers is a strong advocate for separation of church and state and believes the conservative Christian right has gotten it all wrong by mixing religion and government.
Of course he has no problem mixing the two and injects his own political views on the illegal war, attacks President Bush and all conservatives directly from the pulpit as well as in the classroom where he is a Professor of Rhetoric. (Yes boys and girls, apparently there is such a thing)
So we have a Bush hater who is for separation of Church and State telling people HOW they should vote from his church pulpit and and also at public funded schools. A man who condemns conservatives for using religion and the church to promote a political agenda by using HIS religion and HIS church to promote HIS political agenda.
Separation?
Not so much.
Hypocritical?
Classic.
Meyers also preaches that the apostle Paul was gay and that God/Jesus would never claim there is only one way to heaven as well as deeply thought out questions such as "what if they gave a war and nobody came?" and "War, ...good God ya'll, ...What is it good for? ...Absolutely nothing". Yes, he really said this stuff.

BTW- Jesus did say: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)
and perhaps you remember this one- "For God So Loved the World that he gave his only begotten son, so that whosoever believes in HIM shall have eternal life." (John 3:16)

I will answer these other incredibly thought provoking questions for the good Doctor...
1- If they gave a war and nobody came, ...uhh, that would be France. (surrender)
2- War hasn't solved anything except... SLAVERY, GENOCIDE, OPPRESSION, NAZI-ISM... you know, "the little things" that don't matter.

As far as America moving toward fascism due to Bush and conservative Christians... there is a complete and total lack of evidence to support that claim, however there is much evidence to the contrary which I am prepared to go into in great detail... if anyone would like.

A New Kind of Imperialism

Engram at Backtalk blog shred's whats left of the antiwar crowd's failed argument....

"Everyone knows you can't "impose democracy by force."

Yet, in contradiction to that view, the Iraqis just set a timetable for their next election. Obviously, the U.S. did not impose democracy by force.
Instead, against the objections of the UN, it offered democracy to the Iraqi people, and they appear to have accepted the offer.

I never really have been able to figure understand the UN-esque "principled stand" against the invasion of Iraq.
According to the anti-war crowd, the U.S. illegally invaded a "sovereign nation" and toppled its "internationally recognized leader," thereby setting a "dangerous precedent."

In essence, the invasion of Iraq was like Iraq's earlier invasion of Kuwait (i.e., that, too, was an illegal invasion of a sovereign nation in which internationally recognized leaders were deposed).

When that happened, everyone agreed that the right thing to do was to restore to power the deposed leadership of Kuwait. And that's precisely what was done. But if our invasion of Iraq was similarly in violation of international law, why were there no similar cries to restore Saddam Hussein to his rightful place as the wrongly deposed, internationally recognized leader of the sovereign nation of Iraq?
Or is there some coherent line of reasoning according to which it is a dreadful violation of international law to depose the leader of a sovereign nation, yet that leader should not be restored to power afterwards?
What is the principle that states that it is altogether wrong to depose the leader of a sovereign nation without UN approval, yet, if you do illegally depose him, you should immediately put him on trial for his crimes against humanity?
I don't get it.

To me, there was no principled reason whatsoever to oppose the forced removal of a man who was universally recognized to be a ruthless dictator.

Instead, the reasoned opposition was practical, not principled, in nature (e.g., it just won't work, ethnic hostilities run too deep, it will cause an endless civil war, a new dictator will emerge, it will inflame the Middle East, it will embolden terrorist, etc.).
But the idea that some sacrosanct principle was being violated just seems preposterous to me, and I think it seems equally preposterous even to those who used that argument to oppose Bush's decision to invade.
That's why even the anti-war crowd did not loudly agitate for the restoration of Saddam Hussein to his rightful place as the leader of Iraq when they had the chance to do so.
nstead, they insisted that his trial be fair.

According to some, not only did the U.S. "go it alone" and illegally invade a sovereign nation, it supposedly did so as part of an imperialistic grab for oil to benefit Halliburton and US oil companies.
As such, the U.S. became the greatest threat to world peace in the eyes of many.
But how many imperialistic conquistadors depose a genocidal dictator, set up a democracy in which the conquered people are allowed to vote as they please, and then further allow the democratically elected government to evict the invading forces once security is restored?
Here's the deal:

Under the agreement, U.S. forces must vacate Iraqi cities by June, leave Iraq by the end of 2011 and grant Iraqi authorities extensive power over the operations and movements of American forces. It also prohibits the U.S. from using Iraqi territory to attack Iraq's neighbors, like Syria and Iran.

I don't think there is anything left of the anti-war analysis that has not been as badly shredded as al Qaeda in Iraq.
That's why you don't hear detailed arguments from that side of the debate anymore.
Instead, you hear a bumper-sticker mantra: "end this war."
Too late.
On top of everything else, Bush did that, too.-end

Lower Gas Prices Could Save Christmas...

With gas prices now below $2 per gallon for regular unleaded, (as opposed to the previous $4+/gal) on a 20 gallon tank and two cars that's eighty bucks a week for 5 weeks which adds $400.00 to the Christmas budget.
Will an extra $300 or $400 bucks help things between now and Christmas for you?
If so, you can thank the oil companies and the internal combustion engine... that cash didn't stay in your pocket due to windpower, solar power, alternative fuels or the electric car.

Obamanation: Students Kicked Out of Class To Say Pledge of Allegiance

"No one is sure when daily recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance fell by the wayside at Woodbury Elementary School.

But efforts to restore them have erupted into a bitter dispute in this town of about 800 residents, with school officials blocking the exercise from classrooms over concerns that it holds children who don’t participate up to scorn.

U.S. schoolchildren have long been able to opt out of reciting the pledge for religious reasons. But unlike other pledge controversies, this one centers on how and where schoolchildren say it, not whether they should.

“The whole thing is tearing our community apart,” said Heather Lanphear, 39, the mother of a first-grader and an opponent of reciting the pledge in the classroom.

The brouhaha in the Vermont school began in September, when parent Ted Tedesco began circulating petitions calling for the return of pledge recitation as a daily practice in the 19th-century schoolhouse, which has 55 children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

School officials agreed to resume it as a daily exercise, but not in the classroom.

“We don’t want to isolate children every day in their own classroom or make them feel they’re different,” said Principal Michaela Martin.

Instead, starting last week, a sixth-grade student was assigned to go around to the four classrooms before classes started, gathering anyone who wanted to say it and then walking them up creaky wooden steps to a second-floor gymnasium, where he led them in the pledge.

About half the students chose to participate, Martin said.

Tedesco, 55, a retired Marine Corps major, and others who signed his petitions didn’t like that solution, calling it disruptive and inappropriate because it put young children in the position of having to decide between pre-class play time and leaving the classroom to say the pledge.

“Saying the pledge in the classroom is legal, convenient and traditional,” Tedesco said. “Asking kindergarten through sixth-graders who want to say the pledge to leave their classrooms to do so is neither convenient nor traditional.”

The Principal doesn’t want the children who want to leave when the pledge is said to feel different so what does she do? She forces the children who DO want to say the pledge to leave, making them feel different. It’s ok when a right-wing fanatic child is isolated you see.

Sigh….

If a sixth grader has a problem saying it for political or religious reasons, such as saying “under God”, then they can not say that line. Simple fix. But to force those out of the classroom who do want to Pledge Allegiance to this great country is just so….well, Obamian.

Chuck Hagel Should Ride To Caucus With Lieberman

Lefty bloggers aren't satisfied with just winning elections. They must destroy the enemy and any story about disagreement in the Republican party... of course they pounce on it like a liberal on warm hunk of tofu or like a redneck on a rib... your choice.

Senator Chuck Hagel is "Republican Light" at best.
He seems more to me like a pro-life Democrat. Anyway, the Republican party needs to move away from the McCains and Hagels and Rinos and "purge" the so-called moderate conservatives, the so-called maverick got his butt kicked and Hagel represents everything that is wrong with the Republican party today.... and he is jealous. We went to the middle and it only served to help the other side win.

Senator Chuck Hagel (N) (R?) also seemed furious that the most listened to radio host in America Rush Limbaugh has far more influence than he and probably also probably upset that Rush makes much more money than does the Senator and without running for office, Rush Limbaugh (it has been said by smart people on the left) runs the entire country. (all from the comfort of the EIB luxurious studios).

It will be interesting to see how Senator Hagel feels about the "fairness doctrine" which most say would eliminate talk radio and hosts like Rush Limbaugh and eliminate tons of money for radio stations across the fruited plain.

I think Senator Hagel (R?) should get the secret DNC phone number from Joe Lieberman (D) and see if there is room for him in the Obamaboat... I'm sure there is. They are a forgiving bunch.

Red Stater Against Auto Bailout

As tempting as otherwise is, I'm afraid I must come out against a government funded Auto Industry bailout at this time.

I am a car guy, an automotive enthusiast, a gearhead, wrench, loose nut behind the wheel kinda fellow. I like cars... American cars. I have only owned one foreign car in my life (ex-wife's) but have owned dozens of great American cars and trucks, vans and even station wagons.

In a nutshell, here is why I'm against the government virtually owning GM Chrysler and Ford.

Imagine going to the car dealership only it looks like the state DMV (department of motor vehicle) and instead of salesmen pouncing on you... you take a number and sit on a plastic chair from a 1970's school lunchroom.

They finally get to number 3,146 (your number) and you go to the window with a little hole in it where they take another 45 minutes just to stamp your government work card and throw you a set of keys to a lime green 1975 Pinto retrofitted to run on chicken fat or maybe you got an electric golf cart retrofitted to look like a sportscar.

Have a nice day sir or ma'm... "NEXT" ....number 3,147 please..."

If the government "loans" the big 3 money, then the government is going to govern, restrict, redesign, revise, inflate and basically over manage the industry into disaster. Just say no to the bailout.. it's bad business.

I say let capitalism take it's course and let them file chapter 11 or find some other means.

Heck.. if I had 10 or 15 billion $ to throw around, I'd buy GM and move it, restructure it and throw the unions out, pay good wages and make the best damn cars and trucks on the planet.

Peace Arena Not Upset Over Okie Funk's Blacklists?

Oklahoma leftwing blogger "Peace Arena" is upset over the lack of coverage of the recent Gay marriage protest (they were protesting in favor of gay marriage) in OKC which was in response to California voters overwhelmingly rejecting gay marriage in that state.

Exactly WHAT protesting at the Oklahoma state capital has to do with California... and what makes a couple hundred morons news is beyond me, other than the belief that we live in some third world country where one must rise up and protest in the streets to get action from a totalitarian regime. We don't.

My question for Peace Arena who accuses the Oklahoman newspaper of "blacklisting progressive community news" is this.

Hey Peace, why aren't you equally as upset that your pal Okie Funk "blacklisted" the Oklahoman from being used/sourced/linked by his students at Central University? Or that he blacklists all conservative blogs from his links in his blogging class website in favor of the daily kos?

Where is YOUR (and Doc Hoc's) fair and balanced approach to "blacklisting" I ask?

Obama & Biden Plan To Kill American Cars, Spend Billions On Trains

Biden himself brought up passenger rail in a conversation during a campaign stop in Milwaukee, said Wisconsin Transportation Secretary Frank Busalacchi, a Democrat who backs more intercity train service.

``He said, `Frank, if we're elected, we're going to have a first-class passenger rail system in this country,''' Busalacchi said in an interview.

The senator's son, Hunter Biden, 38, is vice chairman of Amtrak's board as part of a five-year term as a director running through 2011.

Neither Biden agreed to be interviewed for this story.

Nepotism 101: So Joe Biden plans to make his son Hunter Biden (a lobbyist for Amtrak) "filthy rich" by rebuilding the Amtrak train system with our taxes and in the process force those of us that pay for it to drive golf carts to work.

Since its creation, Amtrak has absorbed more than $29 billion in subsidies and more than $6.5 billion since 1997 alone.

It was in 1997 that a federal reform board mandated that Amtrak either become profitable by 2003 or be liquidated.

Mr. Klain, who was chief of staff to former Vice President Al Gore, is an executive at Revolution, the investment company of the AOL founder Steve Case.

He worked until 2005 as a lobbyist at the law firm of O’Melveny & Myers, where he lobbied for clients including the failed mortgage giant Fannie Mae; an industry group seeking help with asbestos lawsuits; a drug maker under federal investigation; the cable and media giant Time Warner; and "an airline".

MSNBC Retracts False, Fake Palin Story as "Hoax", Claims Media are the Victims

Claiming to be the "victim" of a hoax, MSNBC plays the victim card to save face while retracting the horribly false story that claimed Sarah Palin didn't know the difference between Africa the country and Africa the continent among other things. The "story" (hoax) was reported by all major news organizations including Fox News.

The major news media covered this story as valid without ever checking the facts or validity of the claim or the source in their rabid state of constant attacks on Sarah Palin... and even when it was learned that the story was a hoax... most news media outlets barely mentioned this fact.

"The story was not properly vetted and should not have made air," said Jeremy Gaines, MSNBC network spokesman.

Journalism is dead, ...long live "progressive propaganda".

THE 2008 presidential campaign may be over, but Sarah Palin's moment in the spotlight has yet to run its course.

In a media marathon last week, the Republican Party's vice presidential nominee sat down for interviews with CNN's Larry King and Wolf Blitzer; had Matt Lauer of the "Today" show up to Wasilla for a family dinner; and told Fox News's Greta Van Susteren about getting the call from John McCain on her cellphone while she was admiring the local produce at the Alaska State Fair.

She disdained the Republican "jerks" who spread anonymous rumors painting her as geographically illiterate, and vehemently denied the accusation that she had milked the campaign for a $150,000 wardrobe for herself and her family.

All that was a prelude to her star turn at the Republican Governors Association meeting in Miami, where she met reporters at a press conference, drew standing ovations from several hundred GOP donors, and humorously updated her fellow governors on what she'd been doing since last year's meeting.

"I had a baby," she told them. "I did some traveling; I very briefly expanded my wardrobe; I made a few speeches; I met a few VIPs, including those who really impact society, like Tina Fey."

Of course she was asked whether she plans to run for president in 2012, and of course she deflected the question. "The future is not that 2012 presidential race; it's next year and our next budgets," she said. But there can't be much doubt that Palin has become the brightest star in the GOP firmament. A whopping 91 percent of Republicans have a favorable view of her, according to a recent Rasmussen poll, and she is the runaway favorite when they are asked to rank possible contenders for the party's 2012 presidential nominee.

Elsewhere, however, the savaging of Palin continues. In The New York Times, Maureen Dowd devotes yet another column to bashing Alaska's governor ("a shopaholic whack-job diva"). The popular Washington blog Wonkette, characteristically crude, pronounces her "human garbage." At TheAtlantic.com, an obsessed Andrew Sullivan calls her "deluded and delusional . . . clinically unhinged" and describes her as a nitwit with "the educational level of a high school dropout" who "regards ignorance as some kind of achievement."

Not everyone on the left is in a gibbering rage over Palin. The feminist social critic Camille Paglia, a pro-choice Democrat, is appalled by the Democrats' anti-Palin debauch, especially their attacks on her intelligence. "As a career classroom teacher, I can see how smart she is," Paglia writes, "and, quite frankly, I think the people who don't see it are the stupid ones, wrapped in the fuzzy mummy-gauze of their own worn-out partisan dogma."

After witnessing the poise, energy, and panache with which John McCain's 44-year-old running mate handled herself on the national stage, can the backbiters working overtime to trash her intellect really believe she is nothing but a vain and ignorant airhead? Well, maybe; partisans and ideologues are good at seeing only what they want to see. But they might want to recall that the last Republican to inspire such ardor and admiration among the party faithful - Ronald Reagan - was also derided as a dim bulb. Diplomat Clark Clifford called Reagan an "amiable dunce." The New Republic's Robert Wright viewed him as "virtually brain dead." Nicholas von Hoffman lamented that it was "humiliating to think of this unlettered, self-assured bumpkin being our president." That "bumpkin" became one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century.

I suspect that the loathing of Palin by so much of the opinion elite is driven not by contempt for her brainpower but by fear of her political potential. She is cheerful and charismatic, an unabashed and likable conservative who generates extraordinary grassroots enthusiasm. Tens of thousands of voters showed up at her campaign rallies, and even now, when she appears on TV, record-breaking numbers of viewers tune in. "Her politics aren't my politics," Lorne Michaels said after Palin's appearance on "Saturday Night Live." But "I watched the way she connected with people, and she's powerful."

Whether Palin has the skill and stamina it would take to win a presidential nomination, let alone capture the White House, it is way too early to tell. But the smart money says she is a force to be reckoned with. That may be just what her critics are afraid of.

According to liberals and Democrats, America is supposed to be LOVED by the entire world now that Obama has been elected, so whats all this "baloney" about someone wanting to attack us?

Joe the Plumber case still dripping

Half-dozen agencies access records of Ohio man

The election is over, but the Joe the Plumber case is not.

Ohio Inspector General Tom Charles said his office is now looking at a half-dozen agencies that accessed state records on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher.

The Beacon Journal has learned that, in addition to the Department of Job and Family Services, two other state offices — the Ohio Department of Taxation and Ohio Attorney General Nancy Rogers — conducted database searches of Joe the Plumber.

Wurzelbacher became an instant celebrity after he asked Barack Obama a series of questions in his Toledo driveway about the Democrat's tax policies.

In the third debate between Obama and Republican John McCain on Oct. 15, the candidates referred to Joe the Plumber more than 20 times.

The next day, the taxation department conducted two separate searches of a database of liens for unpaid taxes that were certified to the Ohio Attorney General's Office for collection.

John Kohlstrand, a taxation department spokesman, said he is prohibited from talking about individual taxpayers, but he confirmed that the databases were checked.

Singer Jewel Defending Sarah Palin

Country music singer and songwriter Jewel, who was raised in Governor Sarah Palin's homestate of Alaska has come to the defense of Alaska Governor and former Vice-presidential candidate defense against other celebrities attacks on the fellow Alaskan.

In the last several months, many celebrities have spoken out against Governor Palin, trashing her at any opportunity, calling her 'inexperienced' and 'not ready for the White House'. The worst rejection seemed to come from her own base, women with most stating that she just wasn't 'feminist' enough for them.

Jewel recently told the New York Daily News, "Alaskan women are very can-do women. We're the pioneer state! The women who settled (in) Alaska had a large role in shaping it. The way I was raised, I never thought I was any different than boys. You can really see that in Sarah Palin."

Jewel really does have that Alaskan can-do attitude. Prior to her musical success, she struggled early in her career, even living in her van until the mid nineties when her hit "Who Will Save Your Soul" became a major hit.

Why Some People Hate Christians

A local blogger posted recently about why he believes people hate Christians.

I think most people that hate Christians do so because of their own guilt, insecurity and self indulgences. Hating is easier and more convenient than considering it and practicing it.
Most people that hate Christians make up their own false or straw-man reasons which they easily knock down to make their point... like Bill Maher for example.

Most people that hate Christians call them hypocrites for not living up to the standards set in the Bible when these people know very well (if they read the Bible) that NO MAN or woman can or will live up to those standards... we all fall short of the target or in other words we all "sin". Christians don't think of themselves as better... just informed and forgiven.

No Christian is any "better" than the lowest sinner in the eyes of God. The difference is the Christian knows he/she has been forgiven according to God's word.

Some hate anyone who dares to condemn bad behavior... how dare anyone try to define right and wrong.
Some hate anyone who tries to be a better person, fails and tries again.
Some hate anyone who encourages them to be a better person.
Some just hate.
Some hate Christians because Christians are against abortion.
Some hate the idea that they are not God, all knowing and all powerful.
Some hate Christians because their friends hate Christians... and peer pressure is stronger than common sense in some cases.
Some hate Christians because it is the lazy easy way to deal with others beliefs.
Some hate Christians because their own religion teaches them to do so.
Some hate Christians for the billions of dollars they raise to feed the needy, help families in need and do good in the community... (thats the governments job).

However, some hate Christians just for the "fun" of it and don't really need a reason.

We’d like to nominate and suggest Congressman Duncan Hunter of California as the new chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC). If his name sounds familiar, that’s because he was a presidential candidate in 2008. Without a big name like Guiliani, a big wallet like Romney, a big TV show like Fred Thompson, or a big press following like McCain, Duncan Hunter did not get much attention. Because the media sent him to the back seat, he also did not raise enough money to keep his campaign going. This is the man we should have nominated and the man who could have beaten Barack Obama. He would have offered a clear alternative to Obama, unlike McCain who agreed with the democrat socialist on most issues.

Duncan Hunter is a conservative American. He offers strong support for our military. He understands capitalism and was against this huge ridiculous bailout bill from the get go. Hunter was right on that. Spending $700-billion to prevent capitalist private industry from failing, only ensures the failure of capitalism. That failure is a goal of Barack Obama’s. He says in his own book how he purposely sought out Marxist friends. The democrat socialist party would love nothing more than for capitalism to fail so the government can take over industry and control even more of your life. Presently, they are planning to take over GM, Ford and Chrysler with another gigantic bailout that also is wrong for our nation.

Duncan Hunter is pro life, wants smaller government and lower taxes. His voice needs to be magnified. The media needs to give this guy time and pay attention to him. Even Congressman Paul Ryan, who had his name mentioned as a possible minority party leader in congress, voted FOR the bailout. It has been our position all along at ConservativeAmerican.org that the bailout is wrong and any candidate who was either a democrat, or a republican who voted for the bailout should be voted out of office for this historic blunder.

An Obama presidency is already moving America to a rose-colored glasses relationship with the U.N. Hear no evil at the U.N., see no evil at the U.N., speak no evil of the U.N. - even though there is plenty of it. Move us right along to the One World Order.

Here's how it happens: Barack Obama's Global Poverty Bill (s.2433) will likely be pushed forward in the Senate. This Bill commits the U.S. to millions in new spending, and worse than the money...requires the achievement of the U.N. Millennium Goals.

Investor's Business Daily put it this way:

By adopting the Millennium goals in 2000, the U.N. escalated its demands to impose international taxes. Specifically, the Millennium called for a "currency transfer tax," a "tax on the rental value of land and natural resources," a "royalty on worldwide fossil energy projection — oil, natural gas, coal," "fees for the commercial use of the oceans, fees for airplane use of the skies, fees for use of the electromagnetic spectrum, fees on foreign exchange transactions, and a tax on the carbon content of fuels."

It doesn't bother U.N. sycophants that most U.S. handouts go into the hands of corrupt dictators who hate us and vote against us in the U.N., and that only 30% of our foreign aid ever reaches the poor. U.N. bureaucrats accuse the U.S. of being "stingy" in its handouts to underdeveloped countries.

There is much more to the Millennium goals than merely extorting more money from U.S. taxpayers. The goals set forth a comprehensive plan to put the United States under U.N. global governance.

Losing Sovereignty [meaning the United States of America] - These goals include a "standing peace force" (i.e. a U.N. standing army), a "U.N. Arms register" of all small arms and light weapons, "peace education" covering "all levels from preschool through university," and "political control of the global economy." The goals call for implementing all U.N. treaties that the United States has never ratified, all of which set up U.N. monitoring committees to compromise American sovereignty.

To achieve this level of control over U.S. domestic law, the plan calls for "strengthening the United Nations for the 21st century" by "eliminating" the veto and permanent membership in the Security Council. The goal is to reduce U.S. influence to one out of 192 nations, so we would have merely the same vote as Cuba.

The Global Poverty Act would be a giant step toward the Millennium goal of global governance and international taxes on Americans. Tell your senators to kill this un-American bill.

Do you have a problem with 1) a world tax on fossil fuels with funds going to the U.N.? 2) the U.N. monitoring our Second Amendment? or 3) a U.N. arms register?

The Millennium Goal wants these and more. Obama chose to add the Millennium Goal to his legislation. It was a choice.

It's a serious blow with long lasting effects.
The Prefect of the Apostolic Signature, which is comparable to the "chief justice" on the Vatican's "supreme court," (to use an American analogy), is the archbishop who overseas all matters relating to the ecclesiastical court system.

His position in the worldwide Catholic Church is extremely significant and powerful, and makes him a serious future contender for the papal throne.

I think he meant to ask "How does denying basic human rights (the right to life) to the unborn ensure the protection of your own (right to life)?" Reditor.

If you are so interested in ensuring the rights of others, why do you turn your back on the most innocent among us when it comes to their basic right to simply live life?

On the subject of homosexual marriage, gay marriage or same-sex marriage and/or civil unions.

My question for soonerthought... when did marriage become a right?
We all have to meet certain criteria before legally getting married. Being one man and one woman is the key element of the criteria for marriage by a couple.

I thought our rights were "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of HAPPINESS"...

"Life is only a Choice, Spread the wealth and Marriage".

Is soonerthought saying that one MUST be married to be happy?
Or is he saying that any relationship other than marriage is invalid or less meaningful?
Is he saying that gay means happy and that we all have the right to a happy marriage?
Is he claiming that marriage is a right under any and all circumstances?

Why aren't civil unions okay when they will provide all the "benefits" as traditional marriage?

Why must you tear down something someone else has in order to get something for yourself that you could have anyway?

President Bush, Free Compean and Ramos Now

Time is Running Out for President to Free Border Agents

With a little over two months left in office, President Bush has the opportunity to right an incredible injustice. He has the constitutional power to pardon former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. Unlike President Clinton in his last days in office, who used pardons as political pay-back, President Bush should step forward and grant freedom to these agents who were doing their job protecting America.

For those how haven't followed this case, Agents Ramos and Compean shot an illegal alien as he was fleeing back to the Mexican border. The illegal alien, Osvaldo Aldrete Davila, was in the process of smuggling approximately a million dollars worth of marijuana into the U.S. What happened next has set the stage for President Bush to take action in his closing days as president.

Rather than being commended for protecting America's borders, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton decided to prosecute the agents. Sutton granted Davila immunity in exchange for testimony. Sutton said the agents "shot 15 times at an unarmed, fleeing man." Sutton also claims that the agents "decided to lie about it, cover it up, destroy the evidence, pick up all the shell casings and throw them away where we couldn't find them, destroy the crime scene and then file a false report."

In a statement issued in January, 2007, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) said that it was "irresponsible" to punish Agents Ramos and Compean with jail time.

"The Border Patrol is America's first line of defense against the constant and unrelenting efforts of drug and human smugglers to illegally enter the United States," said Congressman Hunter. "Agents Compean and Ramos fulfilled their responsibilities as Border Patrol agents and rightfully pursued a suspected and fleeing drug smuggler. It is irresponsible to punish them with jail time.

"The security situation on our Southern land border requires a strong law enforcement presence. This conviction demoralizes our nation's Border Patrol and sends a clear message that we are not serious about protecting our borders and enforcing our immigration laws."

Hunter's communications director, Joe Kasper, commented at the time that the facts of this case are "so nebulous" that the case represents a "severe injustice."

"Agents Ramos and Compean felt threatened and acted appropriately to apprehend the individual. At most, an administrative punishment is required but certainly not 11- and 12-year federal prison sentences."

As Ramos and Compean languish in prison, guess what happened to the illegal alien drug dealer... In November, 2007, Davila was arrested again for drug smuggling.

The Washington Times quotes T. J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, as being critical with the timing of the indictment against Aldrete Davila.

"Osvaldo Aldrete Davila should have been prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for these felonies two years ago," said Mr. Bonner, whose group represents more than 12,000 Border Patrol agents. "This deliberate and unconscionable delay directly resulted in the wrongful incarceration of two innocent law-enforcement officers."

According to Drug Enforcement Administration documents obtained by The Times, DEA investigators believed they had sufficient evidence to indict Aldrete Davila in late 2005, but their requests to do so were denied by Mr. Sutton's office.

President Bush has the opportunity to correct the actions by Sutton and to set Ramos and Compean free! Contact President Bush and urge him to do the right thing. A presidential pardon will allow Ramos and Compean to return to their families. Join GOPUSA in sending a message to the president.

Obama/HAMAS Pre-Election Meeting Scandal

HAMAS: Barack Obama advisors asked HAMAS to keep pre-election meeting secret!

We learned yesterday Robert Malley is relaying messages for Barack Obama in the Middle East as his senior policy advisor, according to his aide. This contradicts what the Obama team told Americans last May after it became public Malley regularly met with the terrorist organization, Hamas. At the time, the Obama team told us they ditched him.

So now can we reasonably conclude this was just empty rhertoric to fool us or did Malley's aide get this all wrong?

Today, we read that HAMAS claims there was a secret pre-election meeting between them and Obama advisors, as well. Heck, Malley was probably at this "secret" meeting. Hamas claims they were advised by the Obama team to keep the meeting secret so it wouldn't influence the election! This is major, if true.

Bamboozled again, America?

"Dr. Ahmad Yousef, a political adviser to the prime minister of the Hamas-led government, Ismail Haniyah, revealed Tuesday that prior to the US presidential elections, a secret meeting was held between senior officials from the Palestinian movement and President-elect Barack Obama's advisers in the Gaza Strip.

"We were in contact with a number of Obama's aides through the Internet, and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to reveal this information as it may influence the elections or become manipulated by [Republican candidate John] McCain's campaign", Yousuf said in an interview with London-based Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat, published Tuesday."

According to Yousuf, Hamas' contact with Obama's advisors was ongoing, adding that he personally had friendly relations with a few of Obama's advisers whom he had met when he lived in the US. "Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh will draft a congratulatory letter to Obama for his victory in the elections," added Yousef.

Education System Infested with "Diantha Harris" Syndrome

This video that surfaced from a Swedish documentary demonstrates the kind of indoctrination of our children that goes on in the public school system all the way up through college by liberal Democrats. Even in Oklahoma... the most "red" state in the nation.



Diantha Harris and the thousands of other liberal tools calling themselves teachers claim they respect other opinions and claim that they don't force their opinion on their students... but since that obviously isn't true, then she doesn't know she is doing it... or she is a liar.

And in doc hoc's class, "conservative" publications (like the Daily Oklahoman) are not considered valid as a source according to the criteria for his classes on the curriculum web-page recently.

Another is Dr. Roger A Payne at Louisville University. I exposed Dr Payne's indoctrination program by accident after he left an outrageous comment here saying "American soldiers were responsible for the majority of deaths of innocent Iraqis".
After investigating Dr Payne I learned he had shown the movie Red Dawn to his class (literature) to make them "sympathetic" to the "insurgents" (al qaeda) then bragged about it on another blog. It would never have been known except one of his friends with a blog... posted it saying how shocked he was and that he learned it was true. He defended his action here in my comments section.

The man who will be Barack Obama’s Vice-President once described Britain’s position in Northern Ireland as “absolutely outrageous”.

Joe Biden (65) hit the headlines in the 1980s for his stand against the deportation of IRA suspects from the US to Britain.

In 1985 he told the Senate during a debate on a possible extradition treaty: “If we ratify this treaty, we will be admitting that the justice system in Northern Ireland is fair — a notion I absolutely abhor.”

While he condemned IRA murderers, he spoke about the threat to the civil liberties of the IRA killers if they were ever returned to Northern Ireland.

The Delaware Senator, who will be number two at the White House in January, has Northern Irish ancestry.

His grandfather, Ambrose Finnegan, emigrated to the US from Londonderry around 1910. He was one of the hundreds of textile workers who came to work at the DuPont factories.

Just days after his election, US president-elect Barack Obama landed in hot water over his previous involvement in Northern Ireland issues.

A photograph emerged of him with IRA fugitive Rita O’Hare, who is wanted for attempted murder, and Sinn Fein boss Gerry Adams.

The DUP said it will give the man chosen as America’s first black president “the benefit of the doubt” over the photo.

Stormont junior minister Jeffrey Donaldson warned that Mr Obama would have to consider such photo opportunities carefully now he is in such a position of authority.

“I do hope that the president-elect will recognize that he must not be partisan in his approach to Northern Ireland,” he said.

“I think being photographed with someone like Rita O'Hare demonstrates a lapse of judgment at that time, but hope in his new role these type of mistakes will not be made in the future.”

She remains officially at large after fleeing charges of the attempted murder of a soldier in Belfast in 1971. She was shot and seriously wounded in the incident.

While on bail she fled to the Republic where she served a short jail term for an unrelated crime.

Left Promotes Driving Golf Carts To Work, Ignores Facts

As usual, local leftfield blogger soonerthought takes a stab at a subject he (like most liberals) seemingly know absolutely nothing about.... the automobile, cars... and the American driver.

Instead of looking at the facts, he puts up a post telling his reader(s) about a cute little car manufactured by Ford in Europe that can get like 60 mpg on diesel but isn't available here due to retooling problems and sales projections (or lack of) for the most part. He ignores how far we have come since the 1970's with regard to mileage and air quality.. it is amazing... yet totally ignored by the left.

The fact is that among the top 15 2009 models on gas mileage...(foreign and domestic) Ford offers 3 models in the TOP 10 with their Mercury Mariner (#4) and Ford Escape hybrid (#5) SUV's at 34mpg each and a tiny little Smart Fortwo (pictured above) which boasts a whopping 41mpg hwy on gasoline which is less expensive than diesel.!
And YES, you can get one here in the USA.

What people like soonerthought and those on the left either forget, don't know or ignore is the fact that high mileage alternative fuel cars have been available in the US (made my Chevy, Ford and Chrysler) since the mid-to late 1970's and usually simply don't perform, don't last and don't sell. I offer the Ford Pinto and Chevy Chevette as examples. Even the current crop of cars like the Prius aren't selling as predicted.

With gas prices coming back down to UNDER $2.00 per gallon again, look for consumers to once again reject the golf-cart as the family car and seek out Chevrolet Camaros, Ford Mustangs, Dodge Challengers, Suburbans, Expeditions and Cadillacs.

Diesels are fine, if you want one... go get it. I suggest at least a C2500 4 door dually for maximum comfort and pulling capability.

If you are an automotive enthusiast as I am, you are saddended by the current control of our government by Democrat environmental extremists. This fact cannot be good for the new current crop of detroit muscle cars and SUV's.

Those of us old enough to remember the last assault on American cars in the 70's know what is coming.

It may take a few years of driving a golf cart or lawnmower to work.... but the return of the
muscle car is not dead- yet!

After months of telling the American people that he supports the Second Amendment, and only hours after being declared the president-elect, the Obama transition team website announced an agenda taken straight from the anti-gun lobby--four initiatives designed to ban guns and drive law-abiding firearm manufacturers and dealers out of business.-end

So... my question is when do we get to the centrist, govern from the middle part that the Democrats are running around promising... ?

MEMO To Oklahoma Magazine, It's Okay, I Don't Read Your Stuff Either

I noticed on a fellow Oklahoma bloggers website that Oklahoma Magazine did a "Best 75 Oklahoma Blogs" list.... but amazingly Red Stater wasn't on that list of predominately left leaning sites in spite of the fact that this Red Stater rates in the top 10 consistently on BNN's "Most Influential Blogs" ratings.

Shocking!
In fact I didn't see any of the excellent hard-hitting conservative blogs listed that counter extreme leftwing bloggers like Okie Funk and Peace Areana.

LOL, actually the truth is... I didn't know there was an "Oklahoma Magazine"... so it's okay, I don't read their stuff either.

Congratulations to Mike McCarville... in my opinion, the best all-round blogger in Oklahoma- period.
